    Good Sound
4 stars is fair. The system is easy to set up. It works good enough, impressive for something like music videos. The subwoofer performed surprisingly well for it’s size. It’s not a bad system for a small apartment or room. Music it does ok with. Now here’s the typical sticking points with modern audio for cinema, TV and streaming. Modern sound mixing really requires custom built surround systems with big center channels and high end sound processing. While this is ok, it is not that. So you will be in the position of having the volume up to hear speaking then be blown away by a loud soundtrack and such. This does much better than the TV speakers, technically ‘better’ than a 2.1 system, but it’s not a perfect cure to modern idiotic sound mixing. It does do well enough on 7.1 audio to earn 4 stars though.

    Just not great
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Not really sure why everyone loves it. I personally thought the sound quality was trash. The rear speakers barely have anything audible coming from them, the sub is sub par at best and just rattles, not the booming sound I expected and the middle bar is just ridiculously loud vocals. I played with the EQ for hours to try to make it better, used HDMI and optical but nothing made it better.

It’s fine, but make sure you have an eARC port!
After setting this system up through Bluetooth, it worked. HOWEVER, don’t be ignorant like me and get this is you don’t have an eARC port on your TV! My TV is less than a year old, so I assumed eARC was just a fancy cord that plugged into a regular HDMI port. I now know how silly that was. It wasn’t worth going through a return since it does work with Bluetooth, but it won’t function at full capacity unless I try getting a splitter, and it sounds like that option doesn’t always work. I’m probably going to just leave it alone since it’s still working fine.

Its very rare that I am able to say this but I had owned the previous model to this one (the Aura A40) and thus can better tell the quality by comparison, for one it was clear they were putting more effort into using technology to improve how it sounds as the sound bar includes native dolby atmos support unlike its predecessor which seemed oddly louder and fuller but I’ll keep comparisons to that.It was pretty easy to set up given that its a 5.1 setup with the left and right speakers effectively being separate from the sound bar and subwoofer since the former connect wirelessly, this means you could theoretically use the sound bar by itself if you felt like it but that’d be kinda silly wouldn’t it. For the most part I personally use it as my pc speakers through an optical connection though I also used some of the other devices I owned through other connections the sound bar had for completions sake, the existence of Bluetooth input was pretty nice for giving a boost to the audio of my phone or tablet whenever I wasn’t already playing something on the pc via optical (do note only one input is active at a time). The whole setup feels pretty solidly built with the subwoofer seemingly being the heaviest oddly enough though it certainly does a lot of work, I find myself impressed at how eerily immersive it can be at times while I am watching people play videogames (I’d imagine more so if I played that game myself). Admittedly I didn’t use the remote or even the app too much but I appreciate the existence of multiple options. All in all I’m a big fan of them and can very much call it recommendable.

I have an older surround sound system from Ultimea which is very good but does not have so much control over the sound so I feel that despite this product being lower in price, it is in fact a bit of an upgrade. I swapped systems over this weekend and got to setting this new Aura A50 Pro up.It takes a while to get it set up to give the best sound in regards to positioning the speakers, especially due to all the junk we have in our house, and I can’t get perfect speaker positions, but it’s not too bad. The sound output is very good considering what I’m working with. It’s easy to connect everything together – just bear in mind that you need two plug sockets though. You may also need to adjust some settings in your TV to get the best sound. I had to on my Samsung Smart TV which is a few years old now, but still very decent. My TV sees that this has Dolby Atmos and the sound has improved quite a lot. I still need to fine tune it, but it’s sounding pretty decent, especially at this price point. Everything seems well made and designed and the build quality is good. It’s packaged neatly and there’s been a lot of thought put into this system. Not all is good in Ultimea’s world though. I really would like to use the app, but why oh why, should I have to register to do so? It’s an app to control a surround sound system. I should not have to register at all to use this, so I haven’t. It seems unneccessary and an abuse of privacy. Fortunately, the remote control is good and I now have a lot more control over the sound, and that’s what really makes this the upgrade for me.I’d give this 5 stars if it weren’t for the stupid app registration process that I disagree with, but otherwise all is good and I recommend it for the price of under £100 (at time of writing).

I normally use my AVR for the audio when we are watching TV and movies through my projector but much of the time the sound is just standard Dolby or a simple 5.1 output so I thought that rather than using the additional electricity required to power my system consisting of a Denon AVR plus 2 mono amplifiers, a valve pre-amp and 4 subwoofers most of the time just a standard audio output will work just fine so I ordered this set for that job and it has exceeded my expectations. On opening, this set comes as the main soundbar along with a small subwoofer and two satellite speakers all of which have been nicely made having clean lines and a superb finish. Along with the speaker set comes the required cables and some decent instructions should they be needed although the setup really is pretty simple if used as the main audio system. For me, since I am using this as a secondary audio system the way I had to connect this was a little More complex, I had to set my AVR to use an automatic passthrough when turned off and them set this speaker set inline with a smart plug used to automatically power it on when I want sound without the AVR system.Wiring this up is very straight forwards, the soundbar needs to be powered and connected to the source along with the subwoofer. The two satellite speakers only need to be powered and simply connect to the soundbar wirelessly soother are no long messy audio cables needed for the rear audio. It took a while but once all connected up to my existing wiring it works superbly, I am still having to make some final adjustments to get the full benefit from this set but so far in testing it works amazingly well for a decent quality audio from just a soundbar with a small subwoofer and the surround speakers. For final audio quality this set has an equaliser and DSP to get it to your own preferences, I have tested these but prefer them set to midlevel and just use the bass boost function for some extra bang. This set is listed as Atmos capable along with most other major formats which on my testing are all working perfectly. Obviously the Atmos audio isn’t as good as with my main system but considering that this only has a limited speaker set with no ceiling speakers the reproduction of surround and height is the best I could expect and really does create a virtually full experience for the audio to most TV and movies.Overall, this soundbar speaker set is the best that I have tested and I’m happy to listen to these for normal viewing and save some energy at the same time over using my main speaker set.Recommended.

This is a surprisingly decent speaker sound bar set for it’s size. The box is surprisingly small and hence the speakers within it.Everything fits around the television well and the provided cables are long enough as well as the wireless connection for some of the speakers is good. The main unit is connected to the television via hdmi or optical (cable provided) and I chose optical. The setup is easy and the best way to get the most out of the system is by using the app for which you can set the balance as well as various facets of equaliser sound quality. The app is easy to find and download and is very intuitive. Not sure why you have to register though.Ensuring good spatial sound from the speakers can take a little while if you are particular about being immersed and so placement of speakers as well as tweaking the app balance is important.Overall whilst televisions these days have good speakers this sound bar set adds that little more and definitely adds a huge sound benefit to an older television.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting that much from this surround sound system given that it was selling for just £100. I was, however, pleasantly surprised. The box contains everything that you need to get setup and started with the exception of two AAA batteries required for the remote control. It even included an optical lead should your TV have an optical output that you would prefer to use instead of an HDMI cable. However, it should be noted that if you opt for an optical connection, you will not be able to enjoy Dolby Atmos as the optical connection doesn’t provide sufficient bandwidth. The two rear speakers use Bluetooth to connect to the soundbar and these connected quickly without any problems on each occasion. It was great not having another cable to run around the room to connect these speakers, leaving just the power lead and a single connecting cable to run between them along the back wall.I initially struggled to get any sound from my TV through the Aura system until I realized that the TV didn’t automatically connect to it and that I had to select and enable the optical output in the TV systems. Once I had worked that out, everything was straight forward.I found a surround sound test video online and was pleased with the way the Aura performed as the test music moved around the room.I also like the way that I am now also able to use the Bluetooth connectivity of the Aura system to stream music from my phone to the Aura speakers. The remote control allows you to make quite a few adjustments to the sound, including selecting one of six presets – movie, music, voice, sport, game and night. Alternatively/additionally you can download and utilise the Ultimea app.
