Customers say
Customers find the network adapter works well, is easy to set up, and provides a more stable connection compared to wireless. The speed and wireless connectivity receive mixed feedback – while some report good bandwidth and enhanced home connectivity, others experience slow speeds and poor WiFi signals. The connection quality and value for money also get mixed reviews, with some saying it’s worth the extra price while others find it not worth it. The size is a concern, as customers note it takes up a lot of room on outlets.

Great performance and a snap to set up
I purchased these powerline adapters after our development ditched DSL for AT&T Fiber. Now that I had 1 GB of speed, I wanted to improve the throughput of the older TP-Link powerline adapters I’d been using for over 12 years! They worked pretty well, but tose were limited to 200 Mbps (TP-Link AV200) and sometimes had to be reset to regain connectivity. The AV2000 is a major upgrade. They have a maximum speed of 2 Gbps, MIMO, an additional Ethernet port on the bottom of the unit and a passthrough AC in the unit itself. They have never disconnected from each other and provide a fast, stable way to distribute a signal to an area that can’t receive wireless or that would benefit from the higher bandwidth of aa wired connection. As an example, I use them to connect a TV to an Apple TV 4K on our patio where wireless isn’t strong enough for a reliable connection. The difference in performance over the AV200 is night and day. These are a major upgrade from what I was using, but then again, the ones I had were purchased in 2013. If I have a criticism, it’s that they are twice as large as the AV200’s I was using. If you plug a device into the AC passthrough, it becomes pretty bulky. It makes hiding the device a bit more challenging and requires at least a few inches of depth to hide it behind a piece of furniture. In exchange for the drawback, the performace of the AV2000 is sensational and makes extending your network a very simple chore!

Great Alternative to Running Ethernet â High-Speed, Plug-and-Play Simplicity
Donât let the name “AV2000” mislead youâwhile it implies gigabit or even 2-gigabit speeds, you wonât quite reach those numbers in real-world conditions. However, the Ethernet speeds are still very fast and more than capable of handling streaming, gaming, and general connectivity needs across your home. What makes these powerline adapters shine is their convenience. Running dedicated Ethernet cables through ceilings, floors, or multiple walls is often impractical. These devices let you set up a high-performance wired network without cutting drywall or making permanent changes to your home. It’s a clean, non-invasive solution that just works.Setup is completely plug-and-play. You donât need to install any software or configure settings. Simply plug one unit into a wall outlet near your router and connect it via Ethernet. Then, plug the other unit into an outlet near the device you want to connectâwhether thatâs a smart TV, game console, or printerâand youâre done. It’s that easy. There is a basic utility provided that lets you monitor the adapters, check firmware versions, and update them if needed, but itâs not required for setup or everyday use.Overall, Iâm very pleased with the TP-Link AV2000 kit. Itâs reliable, fast, and makes extending wired connections in your home incredibly easy. Iâd absolutely recommend it to anyone who needs better connectivity without the hassle of physical network cabling.

Easy to set up, but…
Mostly based on first impressions, I like this unit. Time will tell as to how well it performs, but in watching a few videos via Fire TV, it seems to work well.Pros:- Pairing of the two units was automatic. I suspect you probably need to use the Pair button mostly if you add a third unit.- Once I got the network setup working (see Cons), no hiccups or drama – it just works.- Unit connected fine on either breaker box in a two-box household. YMMV.Cons:- Instructions are too simplistic – it can be that simple, but…- If you connect this to a switch/router on one end – DO NOT CONNECT BOTH PORTS on that end – it won’t work if you do (MAC flapping).- Thus, I’m a bit skeptical of the 2Gb/s stated throughput.- The adapter partially covers the second outlet in a top-bottom 2-outlet pair.I think the best way to think about each adapter is that it has a small 2-port switch in it. So, unless you plug both ports into separate VLANs on either end, if you have a switch/router on either side of the adapter, you can’t use both ports. I think the ideal scenario is two separate devices on the remote end, and a single port on a switch/router on the wired end.In that scenario, which is the only way I was able to get it to work properly, your aggregate bandwidth could theoretically reach 2Gb/s over a full-duplex connection, but in practice, for typical use of this device (think: a smart TV + STB, mostly “download”), your aggregate bandwidth can’t exceed 1Gb/s (single-port on the switch side). That should be plenty, but only in specific scenarios could you ever reach 2Gb/s. Maybe nit-picking, but the complete lack of useful documentation and scenario descriptions with the devices makes the 2Gb/s claim misleading. Maybe they lay this out on the website – don’t know, didn’t check, but I shouldn’t have to dig that deep to get it working. My only other gripe so far is a small one, and is one others have pointed out as well: the adapter is large, and the top makes it impossible to use a grounded plug in the other outlet of a standard 2-outlet wall receptacle. There is a simple solution: buy a cheap “shortie” grounded extension, and use that for the adapter (what I did on the “local” end), or only use a 2-prong plug in the other outlet (what I did on the “remote” end).

Cleans gaming lag and net jitter
Very much with the money if you’re gaming with lag spikes and net jitter on WiFi. Comes with 2 Ethernet cables. Instantly picked the network up without pushing the button to set the connection up.-you will massively drop mbps like 400 to100 but the connection is cleaner than trying to play over WiFi. Realistically you only need a clean 3mbps upload and download for fps games anyway not including ping.-worked fine from down stairs to upstairs on a separated circuit. Meaning the connection ran through 2 different breakers fine.- soo far was stable during gameplay and regular use. Download speed wasn’t tested for files.

East to install. Hardest part was finding an outlet in the areas where needed. Works well bringing camera signals from my detached garage to server. Wireless connection was spotty and unreliable. Now, with Powerline, signals are steady and strong. Speed is more than adequate for 1080P/4K cameras.

I bought this pair to add onto my existing pair that has been working effortlessly, seamlessly for over 2 years. The new units connected to the LAN easily, without a hitch and the best part is that I can take any of the units and connect it to where I need the fast connection most, like in my detached garage which I converted into a home gym to endure the continuing COVID-19 lock-down period. Having this fast connection in my home gym meant that I can watch my favorite online shows whilst walking on my treadmill for an hour or so.It’s all good.

This product works with 220v even though the device label indicated that the input is 100-120v. I have checked with TP-Link support and confirmed that i can be used with 220v. I also checked with Amazon Support and they assure me that should there be issue on 220v, I can still have it returned without charges. So if you are looking for a US plug powerline that can be used on 220v, this one does!
