Good drive, bad cable. The issue is now addressed and resolved.
My computer didn’t recognized the drive. Still didn’t work after trying all the trouble shooting instructions from Orico and Amazon. Further testing turned out the problem to be a bad USB cable. I was going to return it to Amazon then decided to keep it since it was an easy fix. I contacted Orico via Amazon stating the issue but haven’t heard from them. Orico, if you are reading this, please send me a new working cable.Update: I reached out to Orico advising the bad cable as stated in my review. Orico resolved the issue. I thanked Orico for standing behind their product.

Capturing Memories Made Easy: High-Speed, Durable SSD for iPhone and Mac
I used this SSD to record ProRes videos directly from my iPhone, and it worked flawlessly. The high speed and large capacity allowed me to capture all the videos I wanted in the highest quality without a hitch. It transferred seamlessly between my iPhone and Mac, delivering impressive data speeds on both devices, which left me very pleased. What really sets this SSD apart is the durable aluminum housing that makes it waterproof, shockproof, and dustproof. I took it to the beach, on runs, and during hikes without any worries. Itâs perfect for outdoor adventures, letting me capture moments with my daughter in high quality without stressing about cloud or phone storage. Itâs been a huge relief. The only small downside is that itâs not MagSafe compatible, so I had to keep it in my pocket while recording. But for what it delivers, thatâs a small trade-off.Summary:This SSD delivers high-speed performance and durability, making it perfect for recording high-quality ProRes videos directly from your iPhone. Its rugged design is ideal for outdoor activities, providing peace of mind while capturing important memories.Pro/Con List:+ High-speed performance for iPhone and Mac+ Large capacity for capturing high-quality videos+ Durable, waterproof, shockproof, and dustproof design+ Seamless transfer between iPhone and Mac- Not MagSafe compatible, requiring you to keep it in your pocket

Fast External Drive
I started using this as an external drive for my laptop (connected via a USB 3.2 port) and was able to test its speed using a benchmark tool. It certainly can peak at around 2,000 MB/s, but more realistic transfer speeds are 1,200-1,600 depending on exact workload. This is fairly typical for non-professional drives to have lower sustained read/write speeds than their peak. This is still very fast sustained, and has substantially shortened my file transfers from some of the older SATA based SSDs I had used before.
