Well worth the money
The product is as described, I purchased it to use with my Xiegu G106 QRP Radio. I could use a little more volume so considering buying a small amplifier to put between radio and speaker, my hearing isn’t as good as it once was. That’s not the speakers problem, it’s old age. However comparing the sound I while using this speaker to the sound I was getting either from the speaker in the G106 or even the speaker in the handset, this speaker delivers much cleaner and easier to understand sound vs speakers in the G106. This is not an amplified speaker so you are limited to the output the radio or whatever source you hook it up to, again that’s not the problem with the speaker. Clarity is more important the strength of sound, at least for me when operating my transceiver.

Was sent a used speaker that was scratched up and Dirty!
For this review I am going to have to start off with the cons! When your purchase an item on Amazon that is supposed to be brand new, you don’t except it to be a returned item. As you can tell by the photos I was sent what was obviously a returned speaker. It is covered in scratches and had tons of dust and dirt on it! I am not going to bother with a return because I need the speaker now! But the seller might want to make sure they check their products better before shipping them out. I am ok with getting an item that was sent to a previous customer and never used. But this has obviously been used in someone’s home or car.Now lets get to the good stuff!I purchased this speaker to install inside my truck to use with my new Radiodcity DB20-G GMRS Radio. I plugged it into the radio and gave it a test and the sound quality was crisp and clear. When adjusting the radio volume up and down the speaker does very well and the sound adjust accordingly. It comes with a long cord that gives you enough length for any type of install. I love the compact size, it does not take up to much room and is able to be mounted under the dash with no problem. And if you have to install on top of the dash it wont take up to much space. This makes an amazing and affordable external speaker for any mobile CB, Ham or GMRS radio. Despite the ware on the speaker I still gave it 5 stars across the board.I think you will be pleased with the way this speaker performs. It is very well built and can handle any ruff roads or abuse thrown it’s way. I highly recommend it to everyone. I have used many deferent external speakers before and this one has out performed them all in sound quality, design and durability and you can’t beat the price.

Good Value for $15
Can’t really complain for a $15 speaker. It’s tiny and looks clean. I use it with my Yaesu FT-891 for POTA activations. I used to run 100% headphones but wanted a speaker for when my wife comes with me so she could listen in and I didn’t have to take out an earphone to talk. I’ve used this speaker every activation since it arrived about a month ago. I thought I’d reach for the headphones on my solo-trips, but I’ve used this speaker every time. Signals coming in sound good, even the quiet ones. I plugged the speaker into the port on the rear of the radio, not the same one I use for headphones. The headphone jack doesn’t have the drive needed for a 5W speaker, but the back runs it just fine.Minus one star because it will start clipping if I have the volume too loud. Turn it down a bit and it runs fine. Might be an issue for setup while driving in like a Jeep Wrangler or something loud like that. No issue for my uses.

I got this as an external speaker for my TYT-9800 in the car since I have a hard time sometimes hearing during off roading. Its not the loudest since it isn’t amplified, but the sound is louder and also clearer than the built-in radio speaker.I highly recommend this! For the price it can’t be beat and it is super easy to mount!

I would pass and get a named brand speaker
This speaker is okay. However, it doesn’t work on all of my radio’s phones, accessories that have the mic Jack, where the speaker would fit. It’s not as loud as I hope it to be. And there’s no way of adjusting the volume. The room has to be fairly quiet for it to here. It’s small and very versatile. Where you can mount this to several different places. And if you do that with a supplied bracket, the radio will stay in place and not move, and you’ll be able to have a one eighty degree motion as to the direction of where you want does sound to come from

Arrived today & tested extensively during the last 12 hours. I bought this to use with a Uniden UBC-125XLT 500 scanner. Very easy to setup & a robust build despite being small. The sound quality is very good & is perfectly proficient for listening across the bands. I can now share what Iâm listening to with fellow radio enthusiasts visiting the man cave. At this price point itâs an excellent choice. I like the simplicity of the build which gives the speaker a slightly old school look, from an era when electronics were well built & lasted. Iâm very optimistic this lovely speaker will also be able to go the distance. 100% recommend.
