Customers say

Customers find the UPS system provides plenty of run time on batteries and is built like a tank, lasting up to 2-4 years of heavy use. They appreciate its functionality, with one customer noting it works well with Synology NAS, and consider it a fantastic product that offers great value. The setup process receives mixed feedback – while some find it super easy to set up and use, others complain about the lack of proper instructions. The noise level also gets mixed reviews, with some noting the inverter makes very little noise while others mention a high pitch sound.

Powerhouse Backup — Heavy, But Worth Every Pound
First off — this thing is massive and heavy. This is not your average little power brick, so be prepared with space and maybe a second set of hands during setup. That said, it performs flawlessly. I bought it to protect my computer, internet, and live stream setup from power surges, and it’s already saved me. During a recent surge, it kicked in instantly — no shutdowns, no hiccups, just smooth transition and uninterrupted uptime. If you’re running critical gear, this is the backup you want. Just make sure you’re ready for its size and weight!

A UPS built like a tank – True 1:1 Watts to VA rating!
I have several UPS units (Cyberpower & APC) around the house.I purchased a new gaming computer (14900K & 4090), any time i did a benchmark or booted up a heavy game (Cyberpunk 2077, etc…) my previous UPS immediately signaled overload and began howling at me.After some research, I discovered the unit I’m reviewing, and couldn’t be happier. The Good:+ Supports a TRUE 1500w! Even the manual states it has a run-time of ~5 min at full load. Believe it.+ Many options and features as well as a useful, matter-of-fact display unit.+ Feels incredibly well built.+ Detachable face plate and cord included (Screen snaps off the unit and is connected by cable)+ Adequate to protect a MONSTER PC that pulls ~1,300-watt surges when running at max power. The Bad:- Weighs a shocking amount (Think: A loaf of bread made from cast iron!)- Display turns off too early and doesn’t seem to have an option to change the time delay.- Requires downloading a different web-based app to monitor the UPS from the PC.- Fans sometimes spin up for no reason even when no load or power fault is occurring.

Saved me during a power outage.
I have a threadripper 3970x workstation and this had saved me a few times from the occasional power cut off late at night. One night at about 2am I was working on a script, haven’t saved in a few hours and the power shit off. I didn’t even realize it happend for a few seconds because this kept my entire set up running seamlessly. Power turned on a few mins later, but still allowed me to save and properly shut down.I’ve had this for about 3 months and do not regret it.

A little expensive, but really HQ
This is the best UPS I’ve ever owned. I purchased model PR1500LCD. It feels very well constructed, no low quality plastics here. Its relatively compact, and low profile; but it weighs 51lbs. The on-device display provides plenty of useful info about the quality of current coming in; voltage is even in 2 places beyond the decimal. Even my dedicated multimeter doesn’t go beyond tenths. It appears to poll every second. When it kicks over to run off the battery, it engages fairly quick; and the inverter makes very little noise while its running. In fact; the cooling fan is louder, with just a nice whooshing air noise.Settings from the panel are limited. The web based app, PowerPanel Business offers extremely granular controls down to each outlet. This is currently free to use, and a deciding factor between Cyberpower and APS for me. This App supports SNMP V3, allows 3rd party Certs of your preference, AES/SHA encryption. Remote notifications and management can be set up. There is native Linux support for the app. There is even a setting to delay switching back to external power supply, which is great since there is usually a dip and spike in current when utilities are restored after an outage in my area. That is good for the UPS and good for my connected devices. Projected runtimes are excellent. About 5~6 hours to keep my network and modem up is outstanding to me. 1h30 estimate; keeping my PC, monitor, office inkjet printer, peripherals and network up at light load (~160w/3.6a) seems pretty good to me. I’ve yet to test in an actual outage since this has been used 2 days.

    Good Backup Power
I needed a greater capacity backup power supply after adding some additional equipment to my internet access hub. I had a smaller APC unit that has performed well over 6 years, but it would last only about 1 hour with the additional equipment’s load. This CyberPower’s two 12 volt / 17 amp batteries will carry my expanded 100 watt load for 4 hours. The unit has a variety of setup options, and the removable and informative user interface panel can be relocated via its extension cable for easier access if the unit itself is mounted in an inaccessible location. The only criticism is that with the unit’s 60 lb. weight, its shipping box should have been banded with fiberglass straps. It arrived partially open (fortunately undamaged) even though it was in the shipping channel for only 24 hours. Otherwise, it’s a good value and I recommend it to anyone wanting a UPS of this caliber.

Great backup for that special electronics
Great job, does what it’s supposed to do. I’ve had it for a year and it can hold up to more than expected.

For a long time, I believed that finding a UPS capable of supporting my high-end computer’s 1200W power supply was impossible, as most high-end models cap out around 900W. Consequently, I relied solely on a surge protector, accepting the risks associated with power outages and fluctuations. However, upon discovering the CyberPower PR1500LCD, I found a solution that not only meets but exceeds my expectations.Performance & ReliabilityThe PR1500LCD delivers exceptional performance, providing a pure sine wave output that ensures stable and clean power to my high-end PC. This feature is crucial for protecting sensitive components and maintaining system stability during power transitions.Capacity & RuntimeWith a robust 1500VA / 1500W capacity, this UPS comfortably supports my system’s power demands, even under full load. In the event of a power outage, the PR1500LCD offers ample runtime, allowing me to shut down the system safely.Build Quality & FeaturesThe unit boasts a sturdy build and features a clear, informative LCD display that provides real-time information on power load, estimated runtime, and battery status. The Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) is a standout feature, correcting minor power fluctuations without resorting to battery power, thereby extending the battery’s lifespan.Compatibility with Standard OutletsOne of the standout features of the PR1500LCD is its compatibility with standard North American household power outlets. Equipped with a NEMA 5-15P plug and a 6-foot cord, it easily connects to typical NEMA 5-15R outlets found in most homes. This means there’s no need for special wiring or adapters, simplifying the setup process.Software IntegrationThe PowerPanel® Personal software integrates seamlessly with my PC, offering comprehensive power monitoring and automated shutdown options. This ensures that my data is protected, and the system is properly managed during power events.Final VerdictThe CyberPower PR1500LCD has proven to be the ideal solution for my high-power computing needs. It provides reliable power backup, a suite of valuable features, and the peace of mind that comes with knowing my system is protected. For anyone with a high-end computer setup seeking a dependable UPS, I highly recommend the PR1500LCD.Pros:• High capacity suitable for demanding systems (1500VA / 1500W)• Pure sine wave output ensures stable power delivery• Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) enhances power stability• Informative LCD display for real-time monitoring• Compatible with standard NEMA 5-15R outletsCons:• The unit is extremely heavy, which is expected given its capacityIn conclusion, the CyberPower PR1500LCD has addressed my concerns about finding a UPS capable of supporting at least a 1200W power supply. It stands as a robust and reliable choice for high-end computer systems.
