    Awesome Ultra Short Throw Projector
I just had my home theater upgraded but I originally planned to purchase a long throw projector with a motorized screen that hangs from the ceiling. I contacted a local company that specializes in home theaters and during my initial site visit, the owner of the company didn’t recommend this, due to the size of my room and would be too costly to run HDMI cables and mounting the projector my ceiling; he suggested for me to purchase a 75 inch TV. I just happened to do a search on the cost of Ultra Short Throw Projectors and the Hisense PL1 was listed first and the price wasn’t that expensive, less than $2000.00. My 55 inch TV is a Hisense and it’s an awesome TV and I’m familiar with the functionality, therefore I decided to purchase the PL1. I could barely see the laser lights projecting my images to my screen. BTW I have a 100 inch ALR 16:9 projector screen, which I highly recommend. The picture is beautiful and bright, much better than my 55 inch, which I moved to my bedroom. Watching movies are so immersive, it feels like I’m in a commercial movie theater. Because of my Hisense PL1 projector, I have a true home theater!!

    Best Projector
Writing this review after 50 days of use. This is my first TV projector which I am using in basement and it is great experience. I am using directly on white painted wall without ALR screen. Ordered special projector screen paint for wall from Amazon (approximately $186.00 with tax). Set up was very easy, just to put few inches in front of wall and move it in proper direction to get appropriate picture size on the wall. The quality of picture is great in low light area. It has Film-Maker mode in picture setting and it gives theater like experience. Remote control has short cut for Picture setting and Audio setting which is helpful to easily change appropriate picture and audio setting without closing current program. This projector is for low light area. I wouldn’t recommend this projector if there is lot of lights in room or for outdoor.Sound from is good enough for my basement but I am using external soundbar (from Sony 2.1 channel with inbuilt subwoofer). I would suggest using external soundbar and/or speaker system to improve sound experience. Dolby atoms sound is great using external soundbar/sound system. It has eARC port for easy connection for external sound system. It doesn’t have advanced Wi-Fi 6, 6e or 7 but has Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac (dual band) which is more than enough to watch movies, sports and TV show over Google TV. I needed to buy Wi-Fi extender (TP-Link Wi-Fi range extender, approximately $139.00 with tax from Best Buy) to get better Wi-Fi signal in basement. It would be great this projector has Wi-Fi 6, 6e or 7.It has Google TV and it has all the apps I needed including Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sling, ESPN, You Tube and Tablo TV. Some apps require download which is easy with Google account. It does not have TV Tuner which I don’t need it and I don’t miss it. Now, many Apps are available to watch local channels for free and Apps availability for local channels will improve in future.Great and quick customer service experience from the dealer for price adjustment. One problem I have noticed is this projector turns on itself on some nights and I haven’t figured out to fix this problem yet. Not sure if this is a bug which may require software update. I need to make sure to plug it out at night to prevent turning it on itself.

    Great image quality; works well
The picture quality is beautiful. Sharp, crisp images. UI is with Google. TV and is responsive. My only issue is with young children you have to be careful that they do not get too close to the projector while it is playing, but that is not the fault of the projector.

    Amazing projector for the price
Perfect picture and amazing brightness. Setup for a fixed screen is a touch tricky. You may not be able to use the auto keystone setup. But the 8 point manual keystone works well. Plan a couple hours for optimum screen coverage, and then the programming setup. This is not just plug and play. Take your time and you will be amazed with the performance of the unit when you’re done.I can’t rave enough about the picture and sound. Even though I now have mine hooked into my JBL surround sound unit.

    Dead Pixel after 1 year
After reading a bunch of positive reviews I purchased the PX1-PRO on 1/21/2022. Approximately 1 year later a dead pixel popped up. I used a pixel fix on YouTube that worked once but quickly came back in the same spot. Mind you this projector gets used once or twice a week, if that. I emailed hisense multiple times with no response. I called them a handful of times and nothing. Their automated customer service is the worse. So now I believe I’m out of warranty. Yea the projector still works but for the $3500 I initially paid for it I didn’t expect this issue so soon. Highly disappointed with Hisense especially after all the positive reviews I’ve watched and read prior to purchasing. Never Again, Hisense 🚫

I never usually write reviews unless the product is really unique and offers value in terms of price and features., but this one begs to be written about. As an avid home theatre enthusiast I’ve owned a bunch of big brand name projectors so for me to venture into an all new projector territory with new features and company I’ve never heard of before was a huge step.I ordered the px1 pro and all the features you’ve read about are true. This pricier has truly an amazing picture. The one I receive had an issue so I had to send it back and ordered another one which Amazon was nice enough to acknowledge. However the issue minor in most cases and only noticeable by an enthusiast is something that bothered me and I tired calling their customer service. At first I didn’t get a proper answer but the customer support person on the phone opened a ticket and was nice enough to let me know that the next steps may involve a Hisense tech looking into the matter.I wasn’t expecting much from their customer support but I was truly surprised when their tech manager (Laurie) called me personally and assured me they would look into the matter and even send a tech to my house to take a look into the matter at my convenience. 2 days later Fei and Zam 2 techs dropped by and the adjusted the projector and checks everything which seems fine but the issue was still evident so they offered to take the projector to their head office and check by projecting the image on their screens. They offered me to come with them so I can be assured that the projector was being carefully handed. They did a few custom settings and took the time to explain the issue and it was resolved.Rest assured Hisense has new management (which is what I was also told by the tech manager Laurie ) and their focus is purely customer centric. It shows.I’m truly pleased with the level of support and customer service by Hisense tech (Laurie, Fei and Zam) and this product itself is awesome! As an avid gamer, movie lover and home theatre enthusiast this projector fits the bill and Hisense customer support has gained a customer for life!

I went from a BenQ short throw projector to this Laser Ultra short throw projector and I could not be happier! I picked up this one as well as the optoma Cinemax d2. I plugged them in and watched the same source… on all three. My 1080p BenQ looked good and the Optoma Cinemax D2 looked better but this projector blew those two out of the water! Out of the box this one was much more clear and crisp. There is a significant size difference between this one and the Optoma Cinemax D2. This unit is smaller and takes up a much better footprint. Calibrating the screen was relatively easy and I’m getting a 120 inch projection at about 18 in or so from the wall. The most difficult part is the color calibration. The best thing to do is go on YouTube and look at some of the videos for calibrating there. Once it is calibrated it is hands down my favorite projector. I can watch it in a room with the curtains open and experience minimal washout of colour. It absolutely looks way better in a dark room but it is definitely watchable with ambient daytime light.

Was enjoying it while it lasted. Bought it end of July. By Sept 10th it stopped turning on. Currently trying to reach Hisense Canada to see my options. Last time i buy anything from Hisense. Happened to our tv as well. Only last 7 months. You expect better quality for something that costs 3K.

Très bonne qualité, image impecable, un seul bémol, pour une raison que j’ignore même si c’est une interface Android TV, Netflix n’est pas disponible, tout autres applications est dispo ? c’est un moindre mal car un Firestick 4K est fourni
