【Guide to Setting Up Flash on Fujifilm Cameras】 By default, the flash function on Fujifilm cameras is disabled, so it must be manually enabled. Follow these steps to activate the flash: Switch the camera mode to S Mode, which can be found on the lower left side of the front of the camera. Locate the built-in flash mode. You will notice that the flash is set to 🚫 Disabled by default. Rotate the circular control dial next to the Q button. As you turn the dial, the 🚫 “Flash Disabled” icon will change to M (Manual Mode) for the flash. Your flash is now set to manual mode and ready to use.

SUPER bright flash! I’ve played with it at the lowest setting and was impressed with how bright it is. We tested the highest setting in a pitch black room and it managed to light the whole living room up. Works well with my Nikon Z30 hot shoe. Highly recommend!

This Ulanzi SL01 is a very compact and lightweight on-camera flash that effectively serves as a modern replacement for the pop-up flashes found on older entry-level DSLRs. It’s incredibly easy to mount and perfect for keeping in your camera bag.It gets the job done, but it’s important to set expectations: this is not a powerhouse flash. When trying to use it as a fill light for a shaded face in bright sun, you need to be quite closeâabout 8 feet or lessâfor it to be effective. The four power settings (1/1 to 1/8) are a bit limiting but are workable for simple lighting needs. During our testing, the battery held up very well for numerous shots.Given its small size, be mindful that using it with a larger lens will likely cast a shadow from the lens itself.Conclusion:This is a good, simple flash that does what it claims. It’s a fantastic “just-in-case” tool for manual shooters who need a bit of fill light without the bulk of a full-sized speedlite. For its portability and convenience, it earns a solid 4 stars.

One hears âminiâ and imagines a toy. A bauble. Something oneâs nephew might attach to a Nerf drone. But noâno, my dear fellow. This is rather more like strapping a bolt of polite, precise thunder to oneâs mirrorless Leica.Let us begin with build quality. Though modest in stature, the SL01 is reassuringly solid. Compact, yes, but dense in that satisfying, James-Bondâs-watch sort of way. The kind of flash one imagines Q might hand to 007 with a wink and a warning not to blind any diplomats.On the veldt, photographing an irritable pangolin in the failing Tanzanian dusk, the GN8 output gave just enough kiss of clarityâwithout the vulgar overexposure one associates with wedding amateurs or American YouTubers. Four power levels, each as refined and deliberate as the courses at a Michelin-starred tasting menu. I found the second setting rather perfect for illuminating the moist eye of a silverback, and the fourth ideal for freeze-framing the existential despair on the face of a Camden busker mid-harmonica solo.It mounts smartly, snugly, and without complaint atop my ZV-E10, as if it had been born thereânay, destined for that very hot shoe. Do note, however, that it does not befriend the Sony ZV-1F. A pity, like inviting Lord Grantham to dinner and forgetting to check the silverware.Colour temperature? A brisk 6500K. Daylight, yes, but crisp daylight. Morning-in-Oslo daylight. Not the slovenly warmth of incandescent nostalgia, but the clear, honest light under which secrets are revealed and baboons look inexplicably regal.Battery life is, I daresay, positively Churchillianâreliable, undeterred, and able to last far longer than expected, even amidst rapid bursts in sweaty Nairobi side streets.Final Judgement:A noble companion for both the safari-bound and the Soho-skulking. Whether youâre stalking ibexes or influencers, this tiny titan delivers with the poise of a Savile Row tailor and the punch of a pub bouncer. Tiny but mighty
This flash unit is tiny (1.65in x 1.35in x 0.85in) but puts out a nice amount of light. I was surprised at how strong this tiny flash unit is. Using this flash is so intuitive that very little reading of the User Manual is needed. Push the unit into place on top of the camera; no tightening is needed. Long-press the Mode button to turn on the flash. Short press the Mode button to change power levels. The USB charging LED is easy to understand: Red for charging and Green for fully charged. There, thatâs it; so easy to use. One caution: turn off the flash unit and camera when mounting the flash unit onto the camera and when removing the flash unit. Frequently, I donât want to carry a large flash unit for simple events, so this flash unit will easily be in my pocket for future uses of my camera. I have to study my large flash and experiment to change the power levels; with this flash, there is only one button to push, so itâs easy to change power levels. Highly recommended for a pocketable flash unit.Pros:1. Easy to use.2. Easy to charge.3. Tiny size; easy to carry in a small pocket.4. Yes, 4 power levels of flash. Easy to change power levels.Cons:1. Amazing! I use it on my Sony ZV-1 & works great! On the 1/8 setting thereâs no wait so you can continuously take pictures which is nice. The other setting is like a second of waiting which is nothing. I would definitely recommend getting it! Also super small and compact so thatâs a plus!
