Big Sound, Small Form Factor
I had originally purchased a Fiio JM21, but the music kept randomly stopping. I settled on M1Plus and have been very pleased with its performance. I like the smaller form factor as I typically use this on the plane when I’m traveling. I don’t need to be lugging around an iPhone sized music player. I ordered the leather case for it and that gives me a bit of a surer grip on it. I also like the fact that it’s just a music player. I don’t need to play games or search the web on my music player. I just want high quality sound and that’s what the M1Plus provides. If you’re looking for a screen protector for it, I suggest the Mr.Shield [3-Pack] Screen Protector For Sony RX100 VII Digital Camera DSC-RX100M7 [Tempered Glass] [Japan Glass with 9H Hardness] Screen. It’s made for the Sony camera, but it fits perfectly, stopping just short of the logo at the bottom of the screen, i.e., covers all of the functional screen.

Top-tier portable music player on a budget
Light, compact, yet solidly designed unit. Works perfectly with my mp3 and flac collection, and its library can be edited through PC link without having to fiddle with a card reader. It has a minimalist OS, but manages to include every setting an enthusiast would ever want. Easy to configure and navigate.Zero noise through both 3.5 and 4.4, and outputs enough power to run my fullsize planars comfortably. Enough battery capacity for a couple days’ listening sessions, around 9 hours total with the IEMs I’ve been using. Sound output is very pure with equalizer left flat, and doesn’t seem to introduce any distortion even on wild EQ profiles. All in all, it’s an awesome player. Punches way above its weight class, and comparative to much more expensive units.

Really outstanding
I have tried at least 8 different DAPS over the last 3 months, all have been returned except the M1 Plus. Now I will admit half were Android based Daps and the other half non-Android like the M1 Plus. What I find superior in the M1 Plus over the others I will note below. In direct comparison to the Hiby R1 and The Tempotec V3 Blaze as well as the Hiby R3, I find the M1 Plus to have a clearer presentation of the music. The other to me were either sounding a combo of weak and having a mid bass bump which gave the music an unnatural sound. Nothing too bad but when compared I found the M1 to be more to my taste. The OS is different in each model but similar in many ways, neither was difficult to get a gasp on quickly. The only con for me on the M1 plus is not being able to sort each music category or playlists in say Name, Artist etc… As I mentioned each has little flaws, but I suggest to research and find out which ones you can live with and which ones you cannot. In comparison I am surprised how really outstanding this little unit is. The only one I liked and kept was the Hiby R4 which to me was very impressive as well, but that unit is chunky and not an easy carry when out in public. I am only giving 4 stars not because of flaws but I do not believe anything deserves a 5 star as any DAP can use improvements, but this one does not need much to be a 5 Star.

Aggressive sound
I have no complaint about hardware or ui my issue is sounding. Very aggressive and shouty sounding very bright sound doesn’t matter what iem i use even bassy or warm sounding iem or balanced connection or 3.5 mm . I have iem collection probably more than fifty iems and I couldn’t find any iem matches. I previously owned ibasso dx170 and even hiby r3 2 sound more musical than m1plus.Ok beautiful looking dap and smooth ui but I really didn’t like sounding . If your priorities sound than I can’t recommend.

Overrated, returned
Pros:- Decent metallic build- Nice UI.- Good quality audio (If wired).Cons:- Can’t connect to Bluetooth and WiFi at the same time. Ridiculous. Even a 2012 iPod touch can do this, it’s been 13 years. This is my reason for return.- Bluetooth connection extremely flaky with Airpods Pro 2.- Screen quality is much worse than cheaper DAPs, like Hiby R1 and R3 II.- Heavy, bulky. An iPod nano from 2005 is 1/3 of the thickness.- This is subjective, but the feel of the wheel is poor

Great Low-Price DAP
I bought the Shanling M1 Plus to carry around in my pocket and listen to music using my IEMs. I read several reviews about the M1 Plus, all saying how great the sound was for a low-price DAP. Well, I am here to confirm that the reviews were 100% accurate. This is by far the best DAP at its priced range, and it easily rivals other DAPs costing three to four hundred dollars more. I’m currently listening to my M1 Plus using my Meze Audio 109 Pro headphones and am enjoying the music immensely. If you are looking for a low-price DAP that produces excellent sound quality, I suggest you check out the Shanling M1 Plus. You will not be disappointed, but you will be surprised. A couple of other things of note, I’m currently getting around 10 hours of battery life set on high gain. This DAP also has a good headphone amp. It drives my Meze Audio 109 Pro and Focal Clear MG headphones quite easily.

Nice features
having the ability to add 2 T sd card is an exceptional featureIt took a while to utilize the interface easily, however once you do use it a couple of times it is easyBuy a good case just to protect it from falls, it is small and compact.I used to store a ton of music on my file, but am now using the Shanling for all my music files

Great first DAP
This is my first DAP paired with the SIMGOT EW300, and it is a fantastic combo! Please do get the leather case for it; it adds a more solid feel to it, and it is really light. The only streaming service it has is Tidal which is fine if I am looking for something different than whats available in my personal library.
