Portable and reliable
A good alternative item that complements the PS5 console very well. Aside from cost, it is a good alternate hard drive unit of 1TBif you have issues with external hard drives.âBig things comes in small packagesâ and this little guy is no exception. Man Oâ War approves and recommends.

Consistent performance but price is a bit high
I ran stress tests on this drive for over an hour to see how it would hold up to constant read/writes, and it performed very well, maintaining a steady 800-900 MB/sec read and write speed on my MacBook Pro. It also performed well on both my PS4 and PS5, with zero issues loading games from cold storage on my PS5 (since it doesn’t allow direct playing of games from external storage) and on my PS4, the games I moved to this drive played just fine.However, the price is a bit of a problem. The PlayStation isn’t very picky about external storage, and I have yet to plug in an external SSD that did not work. The challenge mainly comes from Samsung’s external offerings, which I also have. They deliver 2,000 MB/sec up and down versus this drive that peaks at 1,000 MB/sec and are the same price or sometimes cheaper on Amazon, depending on sales.So, the bottom line is that this drive works well and is a solid product for its performance. However, it is not a great deal, as it sits right in the middle of the pack price-wise.

Purchased for my grown son, who wanted it to expand storage for all of his gaming. He indicated to give it 5 stars – easy to use, no glitches, and expands his storage….does what it is supposed to do.

Not as Advertised
Unless I missed it completely it does not explicitly state that you cannot play ps5 games from the drive and since that’s the main reason I bought the thing I’m left disappointed. It does hold my ps4 games though so there is that and it does function, just not as fully advertised.

Works perfectly, quick, not inexpensive
Using with my PS5, it formats and transfers files just fine. Since you cannot play PS5 games from this drive, it is simply for storage and transfers. I have not attempted to play PS4 games from this.I also found out that only one USB extended storage can be used at any given time. I already had a 2TB drive for storage and plugging this in would not work in conjunction with it. Since you can only use one drive at a time, choose the storage space you need to begin with if you don’t want to have to swap drives and remember which drive has the games you’re stored.Otherwise this works just fine and provides quick access to saved games.

Plenty of storage, even for the lowest one.
Connected with my PS5 perfectly, I moved 10 of my games that took up the most storage onto it and it still has a lot of storage left!
