    Works pretty good.
Placed in a 25th anniversary Ms Pacman. I rated five stars because the joystick works better than the other joysticks that I have tried. The joystick, have to remove the e-clip to install that was pretty easy. The joystick handle has good firmness to movement, but as others have advised, a half an inch higher up would be nice.

Fairly Stiff. Works well for 4-way, but no restrictor plate.
First off the stick performs well enough to play games like Pacman and Frogger which require a 4-way. It is stiffer than I was expecting. My only other recent experience is with the 1Up sticks, and this has much stiffer springs. I can’t imagine 10 year old me being ok with the stiffness but 50 year old me is ok with it.From the pictures I could not wrap my head around how this is a 4-way stick with not identifiable restrictor plate. Only after messing up the config a few times did I realize how it achieves this. While you can move the stick in ALL directions, it only registers a ‘button press’ in the 4 orthogonal directions. This is due to placement of the switches and leaf like switch actuator. My only gripe with this method is there is not tactile feedback or a restrictor letting you know you are off. With a restrictor plate you would be guided to a proper position to engage the switch. As is, you could move the stick and nothing happen, but this is unlikely, but could at least cause some delay in engaging the switch while you find the proper position. I only noticed this in games like Kung Fu but mostly because I suck at the game.[Connected to RetroPi via i-pac 2]

    Best for Ms Pacman
Many joysticks have a delay and make it hard to play Ms Pac-Man. This joystick works perfectly with Ms Pac-Man and every other game I’ve used – roughly over 100 games played so far.

    Not bad at all
Good solid stick, responds well and is simple to wire up. I’m a fan of the Ms Pacman feel.

Quality, might be hard to install for doofuses like me
This is a solid Happ-style joystick. Nice red ball at the top, great for 4-way classic arcade action. Only issue is that for people like me who haven’t dealt with Happ joysticks too often, installing this can be difficult. Happ joysticks have a shaft that comes all the way out and are held in place with an e-clip. Working with an e-clip is a frustrating experience for the unskilled – I spent a ridiculous amount of time with some pliers getting the clip off, then had to find the clip as it went shooting off into orbit, then I had to clamp the clip back on after installing the joystick. I’m still not sure I installed it right, but this joystick is working well for my classic games on my Retroarch setup.

    Perfect for metal panels
This is what I was looking for.Make sure to mount on a metal panel, or you will need to top mount.

As close to the original Ms. Pacman/Donkey Kong, etc. controller you can get.
-Great built quality compared to other controllers I had.-Stiff control, short throw for retro gaming like Ms. Pacman/Donkey Kong/Dig Dug- Feels just like the original MS. Pacman controller-Precise tight response.-Low profile stick-If you’re looking for retro style and feel of retro controller for MS. Pacman, Dig Dug, and Donkey Kong, this joystick is for you.-Works with Retropie. Just connect the controller to the 2 pin pcb board kit. You will probably need to order mame 2 pin wiring harness.-4-8 Way easy to change.
