2025 Version with Comm Port Works Great with a NAS
The 2025 version with comm port works great with a UGREEN NAS. I even have a switch and a wireless range extender added to the back – no issues – works great. Attached screenshots of UNGREEN NAS and it working internally.

Doesn’t work correctly with Synology NAS
The golden mate Plus would have got a 5 stars had it not been for the issues with connecting to the Synology Nas, upon connecting it to my Nas I received a warning every 15 minutes from the nas or via email that the golden mate had connected and disconnected, golden mates answer to this was to disable the notification system. That’s kind of like taking the light out of your check engine light so that you don’t know your motor has problems. In their defense they did offer to take it back, or give me a partial credit if I chose to keep it, I did choose to keep it. It does shut down your synology as it should so you don’t lose your data, I did run tests on it and with the nas my desktop computer monitor and switch I was able to get over an hour from the battery backup. That I was very happy about, I just hope they come up with a firmware update soon. I liked it so much I am ordering another one for my media room just hope the firmware update comes soon as I have another Synology Nas that I would like to hook up to that one.

Highly Recommended UPS, with a technical flaw that impacts Apple Mac users.
I purchased the 1000VA/600W unit “upgraded PRO version with Communication Port” (USB connection to computer or NAS). I really like this UPS.* First of all, ALL of the outlets are both surge protected and backed up by the battery. I no longer have to pick which items will have to go “dark” when the power flickers or goes out.* Second, I got the white color, and it looks really nice â especially when compared to the “ugly duckling” UPS products from other vendors.* Finally, I really like the fact that the batteries (LiFePo4) make for a smaller, lighter unit, and that the batteries themselves have a 10 year useful life. I get so tired of replacing the batteries in my old lead-acid UPS systems every two years or so – and these days, those lead-acid batteries cost almost as the UPS itself! I will replace those UPS with GoldenMate units as their batteries die off.The one minor complaint I have is that the GoldenMate UPS firmware has a bug that causes it to intermittently send a false notification to MacOS that the system is running on battery power (indicating that the main power has failed), but in fact there is no failure. The LCD display still shows power from the A/C mains, and there is no “beep” alarm from the unit itself – only the spurious warning from the software. This “bug” causes a “Warning” message to pop up on the Mac screen (which goes away in just a couple of seconds) warning you to shut everything down. I’ve learned to just ignore it unless there is also an audio “beep” from the UPS itself.I would normally have dropped my review to a “4 star” rating because of this “bug”, but GoldenMate technical support was very responsive when I reached out to them. Once they understood the problem, they offered some work-arounds that may well have been very acceptable â if my UPS was connected to a NAS (network attached storage system) or a Windows PC. Unfortunately, there are minimal options in the MacOS configuration for UPS, so it cannot be resolved adequately without a firmware update on GoldenMate’s part. Support says their developers are working on this, but didn’t have a firm timeline for resolution. So my immediate choices are to either A) live with the annoying pop-up message (which interrupts my workflow because it opens in the foreground), or B) just unplug the USB cable and pretend I have the less expensive “non-USB” version. I opted for “plan B” and GoldenMate was kind enough to refund the difference in price between the USB and non-USB versions, which I believe is a very fair and equitable resolution. It’s as though I had purchased the less expensive “non-Pro” unit, which is still head-and-shoulders above the other UPS out there…I do hope GoldenMate are eventually able to update the firmware so this issue is no longer present, but I’m satisfied with the refund they offered. If GoldenMate ever gets back to me with a firmware update, I’ll report that by updating my review. Meanwhile, unless you are using a NAS or a Windows PC, I would recommend saving the $40 difference in cost, and just get the “non-Pro” version. Which, by the way, I would still HIGHLY recommend!

Like the published Wh rating
As far as I can tell, this works great. I really like that they publish a watt-hour (Wh) rating (instead of a VA like most). The display tells you the watts used, so the question of how long will the battery power my stuff is simple: ((watts used)/(watt hours) = hours running on battery). I wish I could tell you the system is accurate, but all we haven’t had a power outage since installing it, and I haven’t taken the time to fully test the device. It is easy to set up.

Works as expected
If really lasts 10 years it will be an excellent purchase

Complete garbage, no help from support.
Stay away if you are after reliability. After 1 month of use has started to fail multiple times a day. Initially started with a U40 fault, then U10 faults.Never any warning beforehand and all my equipment hooked up to it will be powered off and not go onto battery.Device is operating in 80-82 F temperatures, 300-320W average load (I have the 600W Pro Max model).”Support” can only say to plug in UPS to mains power for 2 hours to charge battery. This is UPS basics 101 and I did it when I initially took it out of packaging, connected to mains power for 2 days with no load to let battery fully charge.I have redone the procedure and still getting faults every few hours.Do not buy. Do not trust Goldenmate. Doing a refund on this item now.

Keeps my systems running.
Works for what I was looking for but doesn’t include a lot of features as my old one. It has 8 ports and was able to plug in 2 mini pcs, 2 nas systems, main router, and fan to run air across everything to keep it cool. The power has gone out a couple of times since install and it kept my systems running without error. The beeping when the power went out was loud enough to get your attention, but loud enough to be annoying. The one feature that I was excited about was the usb, so that I could connect my nas and it would show when the power was out and that the ups was activated. The only issue that I am having, is that my nas is reporting power outage when is still operating, so I am not sure if it is the nas issue or the ups issue. Regardless, it works for my needs.

A real NON Vine Purchaser!
This is my 2nd UPS from this company (the other being an 800watt model) and it works perfectly so far. It is actually dedicated to my UGreen NAS and a few other componants.I gave it 5 full stars which it deserves but would love to remove one, at least symbolically, for the criminally short USB cable that was included. Why this thing was not at least twice, but preferably 3+ times longer is beyond me.
