Great sound! Nice and loud and gives a good experience.
I’m using this to connect to my tv in the evening when I want to listen to tv without using the regular speakers and need it to be a bit quieter so I can hear my elderly father who’s in the living room area. My mom currently has a BOSE wearable sound bar that goes around the neck that is three times as expensive, so for this review I’ll compare the two.The one thing that stood out is that this neck band connected to the tv easily and was way louder than the BOSE band. Read the directions as you have to hold the button for a certain amount of time and it prompts you and tells you the blue tooth is on. I think just went to the tv settings and had it search for speakers and just click to pair and we were good to go.My mom’s speaker just wouldn’t go up very loud [BOSE]. This one, the Monster, I discovered let me control the volume through the remote, and it definitely was louder. I got confused as I was wondering why the buttons on the side of the speaker weren’t working when I discovered my smart tv remote would control the volume which is WAY easier anyway. My BOSE had the same function – but it would only play super low which was annoying. That was a serious pet peeve of mine with my mom’s speaker which I bought her a year ago. The new Monster speaker was the opposite and was loud. I actually had to lower the volume a little. The BOSE version which is more expensive wouldn’t go up high enough! The best part is the sound quality. It’s amazingly clear on voices and the special affects are just like WOW!My mom asked me to order her one for her main bedroom and I suspect will find herself using this one more. I think this is a better band. The only item I found a little off putting is that it’s not that soft on the neck. My mom said it was fine, but my skin is sensitive. Silicone sometimes bothers me so I’ll probably just put a cloth on top of my neck and lay this on top. That’s the one area I think Monster needs to work on. My mom likes it better because she prefers the thin part behind her neck when she’s laying in her bed watching tv [she has one of those adjustable ones]. Other than that, it’s worth the money.FYI – This is not a tinny sound. It’s literally like surround sound. You hear the noises going back and forth and wow…I was just so impressed. If you’re looking for a wearable band that is affordable, this won’t disappoint. I’m honestly surprised as heck that they are selling it for this price. If they flooded the market, these guys would win. I’m so glad I decided to try this one. I’m currently connected to a Samsung Smart tv.

Nicely Does What It Needs to Do
Ok, it is inevitable to compare this to the Bose Soundwear (which is evidently discontinued), so I start there. Is it really fair to compare a product to another when one is about 3-4 times as expensive? The only fair way to do it is to compare “dollar for dollar,” I believe. In that regards I think the Boomerang is really good, maybe even better than the Soundwear. Obviously if you put them next to each other and ask an audiophile to compare the sound, Bose wins. But this thing is on your neck and you likely are not wearing it to listen to symphonies, so how crisp and clear do you need the sound to be?The volume can get loud–leaving it on the counter and turning it up, you can easily hear it across the room. But again, this is on your neck. How loud do you intend to turn it?So, with that said, I really like the Monster Boomerangs. I wear them when I go hiking and don’t want to have earbuds to completely block the noise, while I also don’t want to disturb other hikers too much. Having these on my neck at a comfortable volume allows me to hear the surrounding while listening to music. Other hikers can probably hear my music when near me, but as soon as we pass each other, we are in our own worlds again. The battery life is quite good. I have used them for around 10 hours on different hikes and still have some juice left, according to my iPhone’s battery meter. Pairing them with the iPhone for the first time was easy, and subsequently every time I turn them on, it quickly connects to the iPhone automatically. Not a problem at all. There are only four buttons, which to be honest I have not used other than the power on/off button, as I rely on my Apple Watch or iPhone for controlling the volume and call answer/hang up. I have received/made calls and the call quality was good on my side and I never heard any complaints about the call quality from the other side. Of course everyone can easily hear your conversations, so there is that. The only thing I wish was different (and in that case the Bose Soundwear does it right) is that these do not sit flushed on your neck/body as the Soundwear does. These rest on the back of your neck and there is a gap in front between them and your body. Nothing too disturbing, and perhaps it even helps with sweat not getting on them, but I alway know they are around my neck for that reason, even when off, whereas with the Soundwear, it is easy to forget they are there. This is not worth paying so much more for the Bose, so after trying them both, I opted for The Masters, and I am quite happy with the decision.

It is a pretty nice color speaker… the sound is reach and LOUD (from the wearer’s perspective) and there is good bass that makes your collar bones vibrate… literally!Music is great, and conversations are as well. I often use it for meetings and people say they can hear me loud and clear, albeit I sound a bit far. The microphone is good at isolating my voice in a relatively quite home environment, but not so good in a street or busy cafe, fo example.Note about using it in a public place: people can easily hear your music/convo and could get pretty annoyed by it if they are sitting right next to you. But in a Starbucks setting, where people are at many feet away, nobody seemed to notice my music running at about 40% volume, It was soothing.3 things I don’t like about it:- Battery life is not as long as I hoped it would be, given the size of the thing. (sure, blasting the volume ona speaker requires a lot more energy than through an earbud…)- Controls are a bit hard to locate by touch as they are not pronounced enough, especially when someone comes over and start speaking to you while your frantically trying to find the pause button.- The power switch does act up every now and then, and it would refuse to power on the device… I have to try 2-3 times before it decides to turn on.So, in conclusion, I love it, the wife loves it, and when the “mini” version goes on sale, we’ll be getting another one.

Der Lautsprecher überzeugte eigentlich auf ganzer Linie. Sehr guter Klang und angenehmes Tragen. Leider jetzt nach 3 Jahren komplett defekt. Schade.
