H&R Block Tax Software That Works Well on Windows 10 Software
I’ve been using H&R Block software for quite a number of years. And this has worked like a champ so far. If you have used it in years past, it is very easy to continue on using it, because it allows you to import from last year’s tax return and then simply allow it to go through and do the prompts with you. Sometimes you have to go back and select something that you may have forgotten to do at the time of the interview (I call it the interview) process, but it is easy to go back to that point in the process. In my mind, this saves a ton by doing things yourself. Sure, you might have to study a bit and read the helps along the way if you have not done it before yourself, but overall I think it is a pretty good value. Obviously no one likes doing taxes, but this will help get you through it. As to the computer I loaded it on, it was a 7 year old Dell desktop with Windows 10 on it. I had no issues loading it, and it loads both the personal one and then it loads a business one. Then once you get to the state, you simply download one state for free, the state you need. If you need more than one state, I believe you can also purchase an additional state too.

My HR Block experience: I completed my LLC return using the subject software. I went in today to open in so I could review it. My Business software would not open. I received a data store error.I have been using HR Block software for many may years. I have had no issues until this year. I spent 2.5 hours on the phone with 2 different representatives of HR Block today trying to fix the problem.IT IS NOT FIXED.The 1st representative seems to know what she was doing and took me through several steps including renaming my database.dat to .old and download restoredatabase.dat and paste it in C:Program Files (x86)H&R Block BusinessH&R Block Business 2024. Then she hung up on me and that is a far as we got.The 2nd representative had no clue what she was doing and had me download new Business Software. I could not understand anything this person was saying due to a language issue. Never getting anything restored. She transferred me to another representative which put me right back starting all over again with your voice menu. Then I was told it was after hours and call back tomorrow. After 2.5 hrs with nothing fixed.So now the software opens but I have no returns to open. I need a senior tech to contact me asap to fix this issue. None of my previous years (2022, 2023) will open now either.I sure hope you did not make me lose my already completed business returns.

Now works in Windows 11
I have used this the last several years for the 1065 partnership forms. I have never found it particularly easy to use. Some of it is just “fill out the form” type of stuff. But I know what I want to do because the forms are the same every year. The best thing is it is a good bit cheaper than the few others that have the 1065. The previous editions wouldn’t run in Windows 11 and I had to use it in an older laptop that had W10. But this year’s edition (’24) ran fine using W11.

Very Poor Business Tax Prep Software
This product is TWO totally different software packages. You not only access each from separate desktop shortcuts but they have little functionality in common. I have used the personal tax software for many years and Iâm very satisfied with it. The business tax software is HORRIBLE!The business tax software has a poor user interface and, as others point out, is very unstable. It would not open after a Windows update (couldnât open transactional data error message). Online support for software errors is nearly nonexistent and their automated solutions sent me incorrect information. I uninstalled and reinstalled the software several times (online solution for other crashes) but the business tax software still wouldnât open. Telephone support rep had me right-click icon and open as an Administrator which she said works 9 out of 10 times. It did work but it leaves me baffled why their online support couldnât provide such an easy fix.Anyone using the business tax software side should expect a user interface from the dialup internet days and be prepared for software problems.

Works fine, but understand what it is
This is two completely separate applications: 1. Premium 2024, 2. Business 2024. The single installation process installs both, with separate icons on your desktop, helpfully both with the exact same green color. The business tax icon has the word “Business” in its title. You launch Premium for your personal taxes or Business for your business/trust/etc. taxes according to your needs. As far as I can see, there is no information crossover from one application to the other. If you know this upfront, everything makes a lot more sense.The Premier (home taxes) application was able to import my past year personal taxes from TurboTax just fine from the saved file. Import using a PDF of tax return was also offered but I had no reason to try that. I had no trouble downloading or installing the applications. It’s a bit early now (Nov 2024) to use these, but I did run them both and enter the activation code–separately in each application of course.
