Good for the price, but not the best quality
This is a pretty good bag, especially for the price when compared to the quality of other bags here on Amazon, but it’s not the best, and it’s certainly not something I’d expect to last a very long time.You can adjust the strap pretty well, but if you go too far, the buckle gets caught on the pad, so assume you won’t have complete control over how much you can adjust the strap. The water-resistant coating is decent, but won’t stop anything past an extremely light drizzle of rain before it starts soaking into the outer layer.The buckles to hold the top flap down are okay, but not the best, and they don’t allow for anything too large in that pocket before clipping them closed becomes impossible, since there’s not much room for movement there.The selection of pockets is pretty decent, and you probably won’t need a lot of organizing done within each pocket itself.It’s not terribly heavy, but that does indicate a bit about the overall quality of the bag. Usually you should expect a bag to be a bit heavier because it uses thicker, stronger materials, which this one just doesn’t really do.It’s a good value for the money, but if you want something more like your parent’s school bags that could last you a couple decades, I’d look elsewhere.

A solid, basic tool
After decades of service, my previous bag was in tatters. This has provided a very adequate replacement: the capacity works for light grocery shopping, the various compartments and pockets (not that I use them all) help to organize things, and it keeps contents dry in moderately wet weather. I wouldn’t rely on it, though, if the rain comes in sideways. The one inconvenience is that the front flap is rigid, and that can make for some awkward handling, and the one real design flaw is how the shoulder strap connects to the bag: it bunches up instead of lying flat, and a simple change of connecting hardware would be a big improvement.It goes where I go 99% of the time, since I’m just about never without at least one thing to read. Once it handles that necessity of my life, pretty much everything else is gravy.– wiredweird

Updated review – the company reached out after my review and resolved my issue. Since the first time I used it was past Amazon’s date to report product issues, they did not have to do anything. They do read the reviews and take issues seriously!I really love the product. I have a large laptop and very few bags would hold it and VERY few could do it with style. This product was perfect for that, and I love all the extra zip pockets that help when I travel for easy access to my passport, Kindle, headphones etc. The side pockets can hold a 16 oz bottle, which is great since my old laptop backpack could not.When my clip broke that held the flap down, I found a product on Amazon to replace the clip without having to remove any stitching. I was about to spend $150.00 for a nice leather messenger bag but came across this waterproof fabric messenger bag that has all the same features as the leather one for $40.00. So glad I bought this bag. it’s tough and carries my electronic gear as good as the leather bag and saved me some money.

Sturdy with nice features, but maybe a re-sell?
Functionally, this bag is almost exactly what I’d been hunting for, and it will suit my needs very well. The flip cover with pinch-snap latches are ideal for me and my frequent one-handed use. It’s sturdy and heavy enough fabric to stand up under my typical use. However, esthetically it appears as if it might have been a return/resell item. The plastic zippered shipping bag was unzipped and open upon arrival. The bag has a light perfume odor thing going on, perhaps from a former owner’s possessions or use, and there are some external smudgy streaks on both front and back exterior fabric that I wouldn’t expect to find in brand a new canvas bag.
