From a simple desk tidy to an elaborate castle, this step-by-step guide to 3D printing is perfect for children and beginners who want to learn how to design and print anything even if they do not own a printer.
3D Printing Projects provides an introduction to the exciting and ever-expanding world of 3D designing and printing. Learn how a 3D printer works and the different types of 3D printers on the market. Understand the basic 3D printing and designing terms, how to create and prepare files for printing, and also how to scan things to create a 3D model! You will also find out the common troubles faced while 3D printing and simple tricks to fix them.
All the projects included in the book can be made using freely available online 3D modeling/CAD programs. Each project has a print time, details of filament or material needed, and a difficulty rating – from “easy” for beginners to “difficult” for those looking for a new challenge. Step-by-step instructions walk you through the 3D design process, from digital modeling and sculpting to slicing, printing, and painting so that children can make their own shark-shaped phone stand, customized lamps, and much more. The book also gives inspiration to further enhance your projects once you’ve mastered the basics.

Looks good…colorful, helpful. Very nice quality
I thumbed through and saw some basic yet inspiring designs and instructions for someone who is new to 3D printing. Got it for my 29 yr old son along with an Ender 3D 5 printer. So I have not used the book or the printer myself, but it looks like it would work with many different kinds of intro 3D printers. It does seem to start out with creating your own basic designs to print (challenging) and I would imagine some people will start with many of the pre-designed prints first, and it does look like the book gets into that. Remember there are also many designs (intro to advanced) that you can download and print. Some free and some for pay. As found on thingiverse dot c om and other sites. 🙂

Many projects
Many great projects to create and very easy for students to follow along. The step-by-step directions were easy for high school students to follow on their own. Even a teacher with no experience in 3D design can use this book in class.

Good help for kids to learn from

Clearly for younger students, not as described. Well put together book well described process for working with blocks and circles, ideally for young students whose education includes 3D Cad work.
Ashenafi Abdisa –
Not good at all.

The projects included detailed step by step instructions and I have already trialled a few with students successfully. However, I hoped there to be a bigger range of projects or items to make.
