GREAT!
So far AMAZING! I needed to clean out my phone storage and this is super easy to use for that purpose. Plus if I need the photos or videos to send in a message or email (or anything else) I can just plug it into my phone and go through the storage as if it were on my phone. The compatability with the computer is great too !! 5stars!

Probably user error
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Love that this is a solid portable drive with tons of space. I had an old laptop that had some videos on it from when my kids were babies. This was the perfect way to get them off the laptop and onto a forever storage device. My old laptop has Windows XP, so this might be the issue…but when I inserted the drive, the computer recognized that the drive had been inserted, but it was nowhere to be found. I had to Google it and went through quite the process to get it to the point where I could open it to throw some files on it. Once I got the files on it, I plugged it into my current computer to make sure the files were on there. They were, however, when I played the files directly from the laptop, they were cleaner than when I played them from the portable drive which appeared more blurry. It’s quite possible I am doing something wrong, but have no idea what that would be. Finally, the unit itself has a magnetic strip on the inside so the cover closes over the insertion piece to keep it protected. The magnet fell out as soon as I opened the package so I no longer have that closure. (See photo). Not a big deal, but worth mentioning.

Works Great
This is a great USB flash drive that works great. It has 2 ends a USB and a USB-C end, so it works for both ports. If you want to take advantage of the entire speed, I suggest using the USB-C end.Overall, it’s a great flash drive that’s portable and works great!

MUCH MUCH faster than ordinary flash memory drives.
KingSpec MemoStone 256GB External SSD, USB 3.2 Gen2 Dual Type A/C Interface – Up to 540MB/s, Portable Solid State Drive Perfectly Compatible with Smartphones/Laptops/Tablets/DesktopsIt’s a decent little drive, and the dual USB-A and USB-C is handy, no need for extra adapters. It’s got a solid feel, a bit heavier than those cheap thumb drives, which I kinda like. Makes it feel less likely to get lost or broken. The metal casing seems sturdy, and it helps with heat, ’cause it does get a little warm when you’re moving a bunch of files.Speed-wise, it’s pretty quick, though not quite as fast as they advertise. I clocked it around 400-something MB/s, but honestly, for most stuff, that’s fast enough. I used it to back up photos and videos from my laptop and phone, and it got the job done without any issues. One thing to keep in mind is the shape. It’s wider than it is thick, which is good for phones, especially iPhones, but it can get in the way on some laptops, blocking other ports. I also had to reformat it before my smart TV would recognize it, I ended up just using a cable. Android phones seem to be a better fit.The flip-up covers for the USB ports are a bit odd, one side’s magnetic, the other a clasp, but they do protect the connectors. And the lanyard thing, yeah, you’ll need a paperclip or something to get that through the hole.Overall, it’s a solid drive for the price. It’s not the fastest or fanciest, but it’s reliable and gets the job done for everyday backups and file transfers. Considering that a 256GB flash drive costs only a few dollars less, and this drive is SO MUCH faster, I would pick this drive every time.

RECOMMENDED! Works very very well for those of you kinetic learners
This is almost too nice of a flash drive for the value level and capacity.it folds to support either USBA or USBC and gets about 170MBps out of read and Write out of my Razer laptop.Honestly, the case and build punch so much higher than the cost of this drive. It really is a pleasure to hold this flash drive in your hands. It definitely feels like it’s built with care.As for the practicality of a flash drive today, if it works for you, then, cool! I can recommend it!

Very solid, not the fastest, but also very flexible
This is a really durable and solid usb stick withnboth type A and C connectors for full compatibility with any device. Supporting usb 3.2 gives you access to really fast transfer speeds, but this device doesn’t take advantage of that. With storage sizes up to 2TB i would expect better support for usb 3.2, but even so, it does a great job storing and transferring data. The description states it uses ECC (Error Correction Code), but there is no way to validate this on a usb stick, without some very specific tools and disassembling the unit. If it is true, it may explain the lack of full usb 3.2 performance, as utilizing ECC would definitrly slow down data transfers, while providing excellent data reliability. Or it is possible they are just using a usb 2.0 controller.I love how solid the feel is of this usb stick when holding it and for a 256GB stick the transfer speeds are good enough for me. Having the ability to use either connector is also handy, as i often interact with devices that only have one or the other and this way i don’t have to carry around an adapter.

Good storage but bad overheating for use
This is solid for storage like any thumb drive but that’s it. Actively using it for things like gaming or even leaving it connected without accessing it causes overheating and overloaded my usb ports disconnecting all usb ports and forcing anything connected to shut down. It’s purpose as an SSD is really limited
