Simple, comfortable controller grip
I game a lot on my iPhone and have used a lot of different types of controllers – not including my Xbox One/PS4 controller, Iâve tried out a couple of GameSir controllers, countless no-name brands, grips with triggers, grips with mappable buttons, etc. Iâve tried out a lot and most of them have been disappointing. Most of them donât even work anymore; Apple broke controller mapping with iOS 13.4.That being said, I bought this Anker as soon as I saw it was available. I own a few Anker products and have been very happy with them. Luckily, this grip is no exception – itâs a great product. It feels great and is very ergonomic in my large hands. I played a few rounds of Call of Duty and Mario Kart for a few hours today and it helped out tremendously with comfort. Typically, when I play on my iPhone XS, my hand tends to cramp up after about 10-20 minutes, but I didnât have any pain during my play sessions. In terms of other features, it comes with a cooling fan (which Iâll probably never use) and also offers a built in battery so you can charge your phone (which Iâll probably use constantly). On the backside there is a little kickstand which is surprisingly useful. The controller is lined with a comfortable rubber grip that helps keep your phone in place and prevents it from sliding around. Anker also included a short USB-C to USB-A cord. One of my favorite features is that thereâs two ports to charge: USB-C (for both input/output) and USB-A (for just output). The USB-C cable charges quickly as expected and should be able to keep up with even the most processor intensive games. One recommendation: if you plan on using this to charge your phone, Iâd recommend picking up a 1â charging cable. The standard iPhone charging cable (the one that comes with phones) is 3â long and is way too long to use with the controller. 1â cords donât create any slack, and Iâm pretty sure 6â cords would be too short.Thereâs not many downsides to it. If I were pressed to say something negative about this grip, itâs that itâs a little heavy. Itâs a minor complaint, but I was surprised to see that this thing had a little bit of heft to it. I also wish it wouldâve come with a carrying case or sleeve or something – all other Anker batteries Iâve purchased come with carrying cases, so I was surprised to see that this didnât include one.Overall – great product. If you want a comfortable grip that offers great additional features, this is an excellent option. Highly recommended.

Tight fit even on the flattest of phones
Tight squeeze. Barely fits my Red Magic 9 pro without a case. If your focus is natural landscape controls, it’s great, but I can’t wholeheartedly recommend it for most phones in the market, especially if you don’t like taking it out of the case

Feels great in hands, great product!
I got this in yesterday and haven’t had much play time with it, but I’ve enjoyed using it so far.I am using a Pixel 2 XL and the game I played is Elder Scrolls: Blades. I spend a good amount of time in that game, which does heat up my phone and puts a strain on the battery so I figured I’d test with that.My phone will not fit with my slim Caseology case on, but that’s ok. Having a case on will just block the built in fan of the PowerCore and won’t have any affect, so I don’t mind taking the case off. My Pixel 2 XL fits comfortably in the PowerCore, and the PowerCore really feels good in my hands. I also watch a lot of content on my phone, so having the kickstand in the back is very nice. I think the added cooling fan helps. I feel like it does, but I haven’t ran a game for an hour with or without the PowerCore and temped the phone yet. Maybe I will in the future and add to the review. Charging the phone is as good as any other Anker powerbank. No issues. Was not charged out of the box and did not take long (3 hours maybe) to charge at home. Construction of the PowerCore feels good. Doesn’t seem cheap or too plasticy. Has a good weight to it as well, but not too heavy for me.I’m not bothered by the fact that there is no wireless charging. My Pixel 2 XL is a metal body, so you can’t do wireless charging anyways. There are glass back phones with wireless charging obviously, but the contact points in those different phones varies. So for Anker to try to implement that in this PowerCore would probably mean it wouldn’t work with all phones. Also, and this is just speculation, I don’t see where you would put wireless charging points without having to downsize or move the cooling fan. Just my opinion, obviously I’m not the engineer that designed this product.Really enjoy this product. Highly recommend if you game or watch hours of content on your phone.

Ineffective cooler, but great little battery
The cooling fan doesnât seem to have any effect on my iPhone 11 Pro. It also doesnât retain my 11 Pro very well. I think itâs about 1mm too wide. Thereâs no tension on the phone when itâs in the cradle. As with all Anker products though, the build quality and materials feel excellent and the advertised battery capacity seems to be accurate. The kickstand is also a great addition. I love leaving my phone in the cradle on my desk with the kickstand up. Works great for watching YouTube videos or taking Zoom meetings.

My favorite gaming accessory; uncomplicated and solid
Iâve recently bought several mobile gaming grips, controllers, and accessories, and this is the one I come back to the most. Very comfortable to hold for hours, the fan is quiet and effective, the battery lasts hours while charging my phone, and even longer if itâs just powering the fan while my phone is plugged into the wall. The kickstand is nice touch when cutscenes come up, but also for watching videos, or just as a stand with active-cooling while I mirror my screen to a TV and play with a bluetooth controller. Like a tiny little gaming console!Other options offer a lot of cool functionality and additional buttons and gimmicks, but this one is solid, comfortable, and useful. And the fan is positioned so you can actually set it down without blocking the airflow! So many others get this wrong and you have to turn the fan off first or youâll wear out the motor because air canât flow. And if you want the extra buttons, I clip on a couple Gamesir F5 triggers at the top of my phone, and they fit great above this battery grip.My phone doesnât fit while in its case, but cooling is more effective with the case off anyway.

Laden funktioniert auch während des Spielens , weil das Smartphone nicht mehr direkt gehalten wird . Auch die Kühlung funktioniert ganz gut. ð

Great charger from Anker makes it comfortable to play games and charge at the same time. Only just fits on my Samsung S20 plus with the case off.
