Easy and fun scooter!
Just got this scooter and I love it! ð´ It rides smooth, is easy to use, and fun to ride around. The battery lasts long and it folds up easy. Great for quick trips or just having fun.

Handlebars come loose
This scooter has decent bones but I really have to dock it stars for several quality issues. Most egregious being that they’ve provided the wrong type of screws for attaching the handlebars to the stem. They provide pan head screws when the holes are clearly designed for countersunk screws. This means the screwheads barely have any holding force, and mine came loose to the point where the bottom two completely fell out halfway through my test ride. And you can see the gouges around the holes in my picture so it wasn’t a matter of not being tight enough. Granted I was riding on grass and a pretty overgrown/cracked asphalt trail so it was getting a lot more vibration than if you’re sticking to good pavement, but it wouldn’t have been hard to provide proper screws which have much more holding force and avoid this issue altogether. In fact, countersunk forehead screws are the standard for these types of scooters and I was able to buy a bag of replacement screws to fix it, but really shouldn’t have needed to. The hex key they included was also very bad quality with the longer end being squished out of true for a hexagon and therefore not even fitting into the screw heads properly.Along with this, the plastic cover on one side of the forks came with a pretty big piece already broken off (broken piece was sitting at the bottom of the box, so I’m guessing was cracked and bent during assembly and then fully broken off when they stuffed it into the box). Doesn’t affect much and is mostly aesthetic, but another point off of their quality control. Finally the latch for the folding stem doesn’t catch on its own. This one isn’t technically a defect, but for safety reasons I much prefer the latches where you must actively do something to the mechanism for it to allow the stem to fold. This latch does have a safety which must be toggled to open the latch, but once the latch is opened it just stays open. This also makes unfolding it a two handed operation as you need to keep holding the stem upright while engaging the latch. Those issues are a shame as the scooter runs pretty well. Good battery life and speed. I was able to hit the advertised 19mph speed on the highest “S” mode on a smooth road even with less than half the charge left. Airless tires are pretty good and low maintenance but the rear spring suspension seems extraneous. Springs are way too stiff to provide noticeable dampening (plus front suspension, which this doesn’t have, matters much more for ride quality anyways). I would’ve preferred just a fixed rear to avoid the extra complexity and provide a cleaner chassis without the big void on the underside in the rear to house the suspension. The controller is easy to use once you remember all the different button press sequences for the single button. I was able to operate it just fine without needing to use the app. Charges quite slowly as it only takes in power at 42V and 1.7A, so about 70 watts max to fill up the 280 Wh battery. Once you factor in losses and charging curves, you’re looking at several hours to even charge this thing from halfway. It’s also quite poor value at the current $250 price point. This brand itself has another very similar looking scooter with a larger motor, more battery, and larger tires for $30 less.

Not a true “upgrade”
Iâve been testing the DUODIAN F20 Max side by side with the F20i, and while both scooters hit that 20 mph mark, the differences come down to design and build quality.Speed & Performance: Both models deliver smooth acceleration and maintain a steady 20 mph, which is plenty for short commutes or quick trips. Performance-wise, the F20 Max doesnât outshine the F20iâit feels more like a lateral move.Quality: Hereâs where the disappointment comes in. The fender on the F20 Max is noticeably weaker and flimsy, which is odd for a higher-numbered model. The F20i actually feels sturdier in that regard.Handlebars & Comfort: The handlebars are the same build on both, but the F20 Max has a slightly different position. It changes your riding posture a bitâsome may find it more comfortable, while others may feel itâs off for longer rides.Foldability & Transportability: Both scooters fold down easily and are light enough to carry short distances. The hinge and lock feel solid, though the Max doesnât improve much in this department compared to the F20i.Setup: Assembly is straightforwardâbasically ready to ride out of the box with minor adjustments. No major issues there.Bottom line: The F20 Max gives you the same speed and portability as the F20i, but with a weaker fender and a slightly tweaked handlebar position. If durability matters most, the F20i might actually be the smarter buy, even though the Max sounds like the âupgrade.â
