Works better than all previous editions!
I have been using Dragon for over 20 years. Every time they come out with a new version they say it is (80%, just a random number) more accurate than the last edition. It rarely is. However, I have noticed a great improvement in accuracy with this version. I am running Windows 11.I am a quadriplegic and I can highly recommend this version. Of course, I use it about eight hours a day so it justified the upgrade price for me. I’m not sure I would pay the price for the non-upgrade version. It depends on how much you use it.

This does not work with MS Remote Desktop Connection.
This program does not work very well. If you’re in the right environment, it’s okay. But by right environment, I mean the right operating system (Windows home professional) and a soundless room. In addition, customer service is nonexistent. While they will pick up the phone and speak with you, their excuses for why your program doesn’t work are nonsense. My example occurred when I began having problems with Dragon 15, specifically no longer functioning in the windows remote desktop connection (RDC). I spoke with technical support and informed them that I was using Windows 11, which should not have been an issue. They informed me that I needed Dragon 16 for Windows 11, allegedly because Dragon 15 did not work with Windows 11. Please note, this was in spite of the program working with Windows 10 AND 11 for the last three or four years. I dutifully upgraded to Dragon 16 and told them that I was still having similar problems with RDC. But when I spoke to technical support again, they changed their story and said that Dragon 16 only works with Windows 11 professional, not Windows 11 home. For the record, my IT department got it working with RDC, but the program is very quirky. I cannot recommend this software.

DRAGON PROFESSIONAL 16 IS NO BETTER THAN THE DRAGON PROFESSIONAL 15.
I have been using Nuance Dragon Since Dragon 11. I recently upgraded from Dragon Professional 15 to Dragon Professional 16. I am using Windows 11. For me, Dragon Professional 15 worked with Windows 11 even though some people say it doesnât. The Dragon Professional 16 upgrade worked, however, I DO NOT SEE MUCH DIFFERENCE IN THE ACTUAL VOICE RECOGNITION QUALITY OR SPEED AND DRAGON PROFESSIONAL 15 PROBLEMS PERSIST EVEN AFTER THE UPGRADE.PROBLEMS WITH THE ACOUSTIC MODEL, ACCURACY TUNING AND ENLARGING THE SPACE AVAILABLE TO SAVE THE ACOUSTIC MODEL HAVE PERSISTED BETWEEN DRAGONPROFESSIONAL15 AND DRAGONPROFESSIONAL16, even thought there is more than 1 TB free space.Initially Dragon Professional 15 did not have a problem with the acoustic model or accuracy tuning however with the most recent Windows 11 upgrade this problem developed. I had hoped that Dragon Professional 16 would solve this problem since Microsoft now owns Nuance Dragon and Nuance Dragon Professional 16 software was supposedly designed by Microsoft-Nuance for Windows 11 and Microsoft Word.Also, I AM ESPECIALLY DISAPPOINTED THAT THE “DRAGONBAR” TOOLBAR, WHICH WILL ONLY FLOAT AT THE TOP OF THE COMPUTER MONITOR screen. The DragonBar toolbar can no longer be moved to the bottom or be free floating. The DragonBar cannot be converted back to the older classic dragon bar, in Dragon professional 16. Dragon Professional 15 did allow for the classic DragonBar. However with Dragon Professional 16 the options have been removed. I find this an EXTREMELY BAD CHANGE. I have large monitors, and the required forced placement of the DragonBar toolbar at the top of the screen is very very inconvenient.In my experience, DRAGON PROFESSIONAL 16 IS NO BETTER THAN THE DRAGON PROFESSIONAL 15. If Dragon Professional 15 is working for you, save your money and the headache. Hopefully Microsoft-Nuance will provide a patch or workaround to improve these issues, however I have serious doubts. The NUANCE DRAGON CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS GARBAGE. The CUSTOMER SUPPORT AGENTS try, however, they KNOW NOTHING MORE THAN YOU. The Dragon Nuance customer support agents really only have the skills to help you install the program, if that. ANY TROUBLESHOOTING’S ON YOUR OWN.Again, DRAGON PROFESSIONAL 16 IS NO BETTER THAN THE DRAGON PROFESSIONAL 15. If Dragon Professional 15 is working for you, save your money and the headache.

Word
I saw a post where they are have trouble getting version 16 to work with word. I wonder what version of word they’re using. I have no issues with version 16 and word it works fine. In the post it doesn’t state what version of 16 their it Department is working with. I have worked for 40 years in a major Aerospace company IT department and I know sometimes we had to modify Microsoft products to work in different departments with the application they were using. I find Dragon very easy to use in Word.

Upgrade was worth it
I have used dragon for about 12 years. I had not made an upgrade for over 3 years. Partially because of the cost. Started shopping around for a good price and found it on Amazon. Well worth the cost. The upgrade is smoother and accurate.

How do They Create & Release Upgrades That Make Their (Vastly Overpriced) Product WORSE?
I’ve been using Dragon forever. Each issue promises to be faster, easier and better than prior issues. I paid through the nose for the Nuance Dragon Professional Individual 16 upgrade and it is MUICH WORSE THAN 15. Garbage; slow, inaccurate, misses words and phases, etc. I am a travel writer and this software IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. Been with them for close to 20 years. Now, I’m done. I’ve asked them to reverse the upgrade and refund my money. So far no word. Not at all happy.
