Newly engaged, Ben Murphy (John Krasinski) and Sadie Jones (Mandy Moore) can’t wait to start their life together and live happily ever after. The problem is that Sadie’s family church, St. Augustine’s, is run by Reverend Frank (Robin Williams), who won’t bless Ben and Sadie’s union until they pass his patented, “foolproof” marriage-prep course. Consisting of outrageous classes, outlandish homework assignments and some outright invasion of privacy, Reverend Frank’s rigorous curriculum puts Ben and Sadie’s relationship to the test. Forget happily ever after–do they even have what it takes to make it to the altar? Also available in HD format.

GREAT movie!
Robin Williams is so funny in this movie. He is so talented. John Krasinski was really good and so wasMandy Moore. I’ve watched this movie a few times because it’s so funny and entertaining. Well written.Good director. Just a good movie that makes you laugh but is sweet too.

Chick flick but funy as well.
I think this is the perfect movie for the situation were the woman wants a chick flick but but the man wants a few laughs. I found it funny but there was some serious notes to the movie. This was a kind of serious movie with a some good jokes and some not so good ones. I give it a 5 out of 5 because I felt it plays to both sexs about right. Most men hate sitting down to watch a chick flick but this one provides some rather funny comedy and some not so great so that the dude can stay interested.HD quality: 5stars I don’t recall any sceens with grain or anything.Audio: was quite good as well. I use a 5.1 system. For most this may not be a collection addition but it is still a good one to rent.

A comedy, not a how to video
I am not sure what some of the people writing negative views were thinking. You really shouldn’t have to comment that this is not an actual “how to” video, narrating an actual marriage prep (if you expect it to, you will be disappointed). It bears no resemblance to an actual catholic marriage prep, if it did there wouldn’t be a priest involved, there are too few left. Anyway. This is a hysterical and farcical look at marriage prep and marriage in general. The priest (Robin Williams) and his little “helper” are hysterical. Those commenting how it is unrealistic, of course it is, it is a comedy! If your underwear is not on too tight and you want a laugh out loud movie, then you should get this. If you want a documentary on marriage prep or a completely realistic narrative, go somewhere else! Have fun and enjoy!

Love those robot twins!
I bought this movie to have available to watch any time I wanted the unforgettable scene with the robot twins. The rest of the movie is okay, and the premise is good, that a young couple need to find out just how compatible they really are. Robin Williams’ program for testing the young couple is excellent, especially the shopping trip with the twins. The actors do a credible job, and the ending is quite satisfying.

Father Frank’s pre-maritial counseling is more like marriage bootcamp
Hilarious. Robin Williams plays the role of Reverand Frank. He cousels couples who are engaged to be married. Actually, Father Frank’s pre-maritial counseling is more like marriage bootcamp. The couple in this movie are Sadie and Ben played by Mandy Moore and John Krasinski. Sadie and Ben are very different from each other. Reverand Frank puts the couple through a series of challenging real life situations so that they know what they are really in for when they get married. Father Frank’s “pre-marital counseling” is brilliant. He really understands what married life is like which seems odd since he is a priest. Maybe Father Frank has a secret. I recommend this movie for its wit, wisdom, brilliance, and laughs.

Not Much to Laugh At.
This film has not aged well. Robin Williams actually seems out of place in this film as a wacky pastor who insists that those he will consider to wed, must pass various challenges. That grows old quick. There is one particular scene where the husband-to-be must carry around two life-like dolls that are hilarious! Hard to believe there is only one side-splitter scene in this story and sadly it is not Robin Williams .

I wanted this movie, for my collection. Such a shame Robin Williams is no longer with us. He did what he did best, make everyone laugh. This is by far, an intelligent look at what we face when we marry, rather to extremes. It’ll have you screaming with laughter, very funny and I definitely recommend

This is probably one of Robin Williams’ best roles. Extremely funny and good retrospect on what every couple should know prior to getting married. It is a comical satirical look at preparing for marriage. Although in some cases extreme, so is life.I would definitely rate this as a 5 out of 5, it is worth the money.
