Utilizing the same drivers as the popular Dayton Audio MK Series, the MKBoom Bluetooth Speaker Kit is an incredibly versatile, great sounding DIY speaker. The easily assembled kit includes the drivers, the KAB amp board with the necessary accessories, port tubes, crossover boards, and the knock-down cabinets. Add a handle for a portable design making the MKBoom the perfect grab-n-go speaker for everyday use. Batteries are not included with this version of the MKBoom.
Portability and functionality meet hi-fi audio in the Dayton Audio MKBoom Bluetooth Speaker Kit. With the same great sound as the Dayton Audio MK series, the kit adds a level of versatility. Powered by a 2 x 50 watt amp, the kit delivers surprising power while remaining efficient enough to run on battery power (this version of the MKBoom kit requires 3 x 18650 batteries). With the lack of a power cable needed, the MKBoom is the perfect grab-n-go speaker for patios, tailgates, parties, and parks. Very nice product and a lot of fun putting it together.
This was a fun project to put together. If you are new to these types of kits this is a good one to start with. It is fairly straightforward to put together and the instructions are pretty good but there was one or two places in the instructions where I had to watch a youtube video to make sure I understood it correctly. It did not come with batteries so you want to make sure to order them before putting in the back control panel.You will need to use some shrink tubing which comes with the kit to splice wires together in two spots. I used solder to tin the wires before putting on the shrink tubing. You don’t necessarily have to do this but if you know how to solder it would be good to do it.
