ANCEL 430 Heavy Duty
It removes codes. If something is wrong with your truck theyâll come back. I bought it for the regen. It does what itâs supposed to do.
It has a bad battery life and the sound quality isnât good enough –
basic scan tool
This device has limited features to utilize during def regen.you can’t reset codes after changing sensors. overall, the device is stillgood for figuring out what’s wrong with the truck.

Helpful tool for the motorhome owner.
It worked well on my Dutch Star motorhome with the Cummins 8.9 ISL diesel. I was able to read the problem code and reset the computer. This will help me understand what’s ahead repair wise. It’s not as detailed as the $2000 laptop model but still helpful. The instructions are very limited.

I loved this thing the first time I used it. Now, it does nothing. Save your money for the one at harbor frieght thatâs around 700$.

didn’t work for what we needed
Husband got this to clear codes on his tractors and skid steers and it wouldn’t work for that. He tried to read codes on his dodge ram 2500 and it wouldn’t do that properly either. we have returned this item

The ANCEL brand HD 430 heavy-duty truck scanner is a valuable diagnostic device for any vehicle owners operating vehicles compatible with this device. ANCEL is the leading brand for engine scanning devices with dozens of associated products available on the Amazon storefront.Engine faults identified by this scanner can potentially save the need for expensive repairs and towing services by quickly diagnosing and alerting operators to engine trouble issues. This device is also useful for making sure that repair shops have properly and accurately solved issues invoiced for their services.Who would benefit from this scanner? Anyone owning/operating/servicing modern heavy trucks with either Caterpillar or Cummins DPF engines will derive the most value from this scanner. The scanner will enable these owners to perform their own DPF regeneration procedures and much more. However, the scanner also has a 6 and 9 pin plug in for older trucks, and for Detroit and and PACCAR (Peter and Kenny brands) although DPF functions will not be available. All diesel trucks prior to 2016, and some models since, use a black 9 pin connector. Operators with Detroit and PACCAR powerplants might be better served by the Ancel HD110PRO scanner available elsewhere on the Amazon storefront.OBD2 scanning capabilities are also offered by the present unit. OBD2 stands for On-Board diagnostics, Version 2, a system that monitors a vehicle’s components and alerts the driver to any issues. Operators seeking a less expensive scanning option, albeit with fewer features and options may wish to consider a different option. The ANCEL model HD 200 caters to operators with Cummins and Caterpillar engines and is newly upgraded for 2025 models with the latest technologies embedded within.Unlike many scanners, no need to download apps and have a Bluetooth connection to your phone. This unit has its own built-in 4.3 inch display and easy to use finger push controls for navigation. This also makes this scanner an excellent candidate for owner/operators to permanently install the device prominently inside the truck for full-time access and use.One of the most important purchase decision criteria items is to estimate the usable lifespan of a product. Many diagnostic scanners are sold with increasingly expensive subscription fees to cover any updates for new models of trucks and engines. The present item under review is covered by free lifetime upgrades, ensuring that this device will not become obsolete with ever-changing diesel engine new products and features. The verdict:The ANCEL brand HD 430 heavy-duty truck scanner is a valuable diagnostic device for any vehicle owners operating vehicles compatible with this device. An overall product score of 5/5 is assigned.

I recently got my hands on the ANCEL HD430 Heavy Duty Truck Scanner, and I have to say, itâs been a great device for maintaining my diesel truck. Right out of the box, the setup was straightforward. I plugged it in, connected it to WiFi, and updated the softwareâno additional costs, which is a huge plus compared to other scanners that require expensive subscriptions for updates. The first thing I noticed was how well-built this scanner is. The 4.3-inch screen is bright and easy to read, and the button layout makes navigation simple. Unlike some scanners that require an app or Bluetooth connection to a phone, the HD430 operates as a standalone unit, which I prefer for ease of use.One of the standout features is its ability to perform DPF resets and forced regenerations for Cummins and Caterpillar engines. This alone makes it an invaluable tool, saving me time and money by avoiding unnecessary trips to the dealer. The scanner provides in-depth diagnostics for the engine, ABS, transmission, fuel system, and more. Reading and clearing fault codes is a breeze, and the built-in DTC Lookup helps identify issues quickly.Compatibility is another strong point. It supports 12V and 24V trucks and comes with diesel connectors (CAT-9, Diesel 6pin & 9pin) along with OBDII 16pin, making it useful for a wide range of heavy-duty vehicles. However, itâs important to note that while it works on many diesel trucks, pickup trucks with Cummins engines arenât supported for DPF regen. One minor downside is that the unit doesnât have a built-in battery, meaning it needs to be plugged in to function. This isnât a deal-breaker, but having a backup power source would make it even more convenient for reviewing stored data without being connected to a vehicle.Overall, the ANCEL HD430 is a powerful and reliable diagnostic tool. Whether youâre an owner-operator, a fleet manager, or a mechanic, this scanner provides everything you need for heavy-duty truck maintenance. Itâs an investment that pays for itself by preventing costly repairs and downtime. I highly recommend it to anyone working with diesel trucks.

As someone who has used quite a few older OBD II scanners for years, I can understand that those old ones I paid for were budget scanners, and I did not expect premium features, but the lack of a power source when not plugged in is surprising. The reason this is and can be important is for storing scans and data to later view on the computer or on the unit itself at a later date, show a mechanic or anything really. I only recently learned of this feature from a friend’s unit after scanning my car last year. We scanned and unplugged and reviewed that data inside later on as we were googling help on some issues. The screen is a nice and bright and solid unit. I know a few truckers who I’ll let scan their trucks because it’s apparently really expensive for them to bring for someone else to do and I suspect that’s the premium here.I have gas vehicles, so those who are looking to see if this will work on your car as well, yes, it will work. It has a fully functional OBD II menu and scanner. Well built and without the battery, I’d have to knock a star off otherwise this is a solid scanner.

The Ancel HD430 scanner is durable, intuitive, and all-in-one. It comes in a compact, padded case with the scanner, OBD2 cable, heavy-duty adapter, and quick-start guide. Everything feels well protected. Plugging it into the truckâs port is simple. The HDOBD connector fits snugly, and the unit powers up instantly. The bright screen is easy to read, even in low light.Navigating menus is quick and easy. The control buttons have a solid click, and response time is quick. I ran a DPF reset on a Caterpillar engine without any hiccups. The forced regeneration feature worked just as advertised. Live data graphs are clear and update in real time. It shows boost pressure, exhaust temps, and other key metrics. Data logging to a USB drive is handy for sharing with the shop. One minor gripe is that the cable is a bit short for some engine bays, so you might need to kneel close to the connector. Overall, this is a dependable diesel scanner for Cummins, Cat, and similar engines. Full marks from me!

No battery back up on this unit , also no external power cord was supplied . Reaching out to supplier was nearly impossible !
