fast switch to battery mode (no latency)
As soon as you receive the UPS, you have to charge the battery without connecting any load: after 24h it will be ready for use (that’s what manual says).First impressions after 3 days of use:This UPS does its job, it has a fast switch to battery mode (no latency): I repeatedly tested the unit by unplugging it from the wall, and the computer remained on without any interruption . The UPS app (available from website) is actually very useful: it allows you to control various settings on the unit, such as enabling or disabling the audible alarm, monitoring the charge percentage / estimated runtime, and, most importantly, automatically shutting down the computer before the battery is fully depleted. The app is available for both Windows and Linux (no macOS support). I use this UPS to protect two computers. According to the monitoring software, I’m using about 50% of the available power. In the event of an extended power outage, my battery charge is estimated to last around 16 minutes. My only concern is battery lifespan: how long will it last? Months? Years? Time will tell.â¨Note: the replacement battery costs about $70, which is roughly the same as buying a whole new unit.I bought this UPS backup to protect my computers from sudden outages (flickering) of the electrical network, and it works. However, if you need more protection (such as prolonged blackouts), youâll need a higher performance model with larger batteries.

Solid Backup Power â Just Didnât Work for Our Pellet Stove
This APC UPS is a well-built and reliable backup power source with some great features. Itâs compact, easy to set up, and provides a solid 600VA/300W of backup, which is perfect for keeping essential devices running during power outages. I really like the added surge protection, and the peace of mind it brings for sensitive electronics like our router. We initially purchased it to power our pellet stove during outages, but after setting it up, we realized the stove isnât compatible with this type of UPS. Itâs important to note that this unit doesnât provide pure sine wave power, which some super-sensitive electronics (like pellet stoves or medical equipment) may require. Even though it didnât fit that specific need, itâs been working flawlessly for our router, keeping us online when the power flickers or goes out.Overall, itâs a great little unit that serves its purpose well â just be sure to double-check compatibility if you’re planning to use it for larger appliances. For smaller electronics and home networking, itâs been a dependable addition to our setup!

Peace of mind…
This surge protector with a built-in backup battery works wonderfully, and I am honestly impressed by how much peace of mind it provides. In the past, whenever we experienced a sudden power outage or even just a circuit breaker trip, I would instantly panic about my computer shutting down in the middle of something important. Now, I do not worry at all. The unit automatically kicks in, keeping my computer, router, and Wi-Fi system running smoothly without interruption. Everything stays online, which means no lost work, no dropped connections, and no unnecessary stress. It is an incredibly reliable upgrade.

Easy to use, reasonable price, good for all the bits and bobs in my office
I got a gaming rig and needed a separate UPS for all the bits on bobs I had to put on a different circuit because of power requirements. So all the things other than the PC, the monitor, printer, my phone charger are all plugged into this UPS on that different circuit. You do have to hook up the battery, but that is simple. It was a bit fiddly when I tried to get it to power up initially but ultimately it did. So far so good.

Good item
Works well. Fried mine due to spikes in the power, but hey that is the reason we have those. Cheaper to replace these than a computer that cost easily 1000$ Would buy again. Btw the utility provider was the reason it fried.

Best brand out there (check & connect the battery)
APC’s UPS are the best battery back-up surge protectors in the business. I used to do tech support for the software and the majority of the calls were either for installation of software help or to remind them to connect the battery (D.O.T. regulations prevents batteries from being connected during transport). I never saw one fail that was connected to the battery. The battery sizes vary but last like a car battery and the great thing is you will never have to buy another unit again, just replace the battery in a few years. So make sure you find the right size for your needs and then go a little bigger if you can afford it. Personally its the only brand I’ll buy.

I bought this because when the power goes out for my pellet stove it would fill up the house with smoke. This runs the pellet stove long enough to get rid of the smoke and shut the unit down exactly what I needed.

The UPS is great, been using it for over a week and throughout power outages and its been nothing but good. Its not the most powerful or not the most in battery life but its certainly enough for the average joe with their router. Its even good for a small amount of mobile power despite not being made for it, i wouldn’t suggest it as you can risj damage to your unit but as for me i am careful so i am fine (i am not responsible for any and all damages made to your unit(s). Any and all careless acts carried out by you is yours and your fault only.) Ease of use is great, just connect the battery, plug it in and hit the power button. Turns right on and starts working immediately, some things to note. In the event of a long term outage, i would recommend checking in on it every now and then as the default alarm doesn’t sound untie the battery is quite low. I would suggest either changing it or just checking in on it after a while. Other than that its a great little UPS and i would recommend it to others. One thing id like to see added is the ability for the ups to change the power button color depending on the SOC (state of charge) would be great to see that instead of a blinking green button till it starts beeping at you.
