    Outstanding Customer Support
Bought a new house that had obsolete wiring. New location were required and the coax cable was out our date as well as the phone lines. So we updated with Cat 5e and new triple shielded coax for high speed data capacity. That said, we chose Leviton for the structured media center and very happy with their products, in particular their Product Support staff. I cannot say enough about how qualified and professional they all are; they are knowledgable and know their product. Most importantly though, they were very patient on the phone in responding to all my questions to where all was clear with what I had asked about. For me, being able to reach customer support without being put on hold or to just get someone to answer the call (usually it’s; “I’m away from my desk right now and I’ll call you right back….) and or to be able to TALK with customer support ~ not e-mail the problem ~ is of great value. Additionally, Leviton has their own YouTube channel to reference, which provides an excellent starting point for what is being worked on as well as “how to”. There are less expensive products to choose from, but having a product that the manufacturer stands behind and is willing to help non-professionals it is worth the difference in price. Lastly, you can piece together different manufactured products to achieve the same goal, but by staying with the same source things match up and if there is a problem you have only one phone call to make….well worth it in my opinion.

ok, but differs from the picture
This unit is working just fine. However, if gold plated video terminals are important to you, please note that the unit I received came with standard steel terminals-they were not plated.

Beware the patch panel is 568A not B
I would have reading this product five stars except that the patch panel provided was 568A standard. Most every networking product is 568B and nowhere in the description did it say that it was 568A. This caused a delay in my job but made it work

    Good for a small home
Leviton makes a variety of telephone/video panels of various combinations that work as connecting devices. If you have a spider’s web of wiring in the basement, these boards provide a measure of standardization and organization that you might be lacking. This particular model includes a 6-way video coaxial splitter, a bridge for up to four telephone lines going to four different locations, and a bridge for up to four Cat 5e voice/data connectors, again leading to up to four different locations. The combination is somewhat interesting as it is somewhat unlikely that your home has six different TV cable outlets but only four telephone jacks. Of further interest is the degree to which you use wiring at all anymore for anything other than the TV cable given the abilities to make your entire computer network and home telephone network wireless these days. Further, the six-way video splitter is only a splitter, not an amplifier; as a result, if you really do want to split your incoming cable line to six different outputs, you’re likely to find the overall signal strength insufficient without an additional amplifier on the line.I’m also somewhat concerned with the cost of this device. Six way video splitters range in price from just over one dollar up to about $40 with very little difference in quality. The connections for the Cat 5E and telephone wiring can be simulated with a series of hard connections – not pretty, but certainly sufficient for the purpose. Ultimately here, you’re paying for the convenience of having both sets of connections laid out for you on an attractive plastic backing which can be easily mounted to the wall or to pegboard. This board comes with two sets of instructions, neither of which is specific for this particular unit. The first is a sheet for Leviton’s telephone and video panel. This sheet describes a 1×9 bridged telephone module when what we have here is a 1×4 module. The second sheet is for the Cat5e board, which indicates that you can route and terminate up to six cables, while this board allows for only four. The entire assembly comes with an adhesive wiring identification chart, which can prove useful for problem-solving should issues arise down the road.In the end, this board does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The wiring bridges all work and installation is straight-forward. There are no significant quality issues and the unit comes with everything necessary to complete the wiring installation. The overall rating of three stars is based on a somewhat high price point for the task being accomplished and the lack of instructional material specific to this particular device. Further, I’d again warn that splitting an incoming cable signal more than 3 or 4 ways is likely to require additional amplification to maintain signal quality.

    Phone/Data punchdown uses T568A
I know it shouldn’t matter, but I installed data jacks as 568B before reading the Leviton instructions requiring A. There is no color punchdown code stickers on the panels as is sometimes found on other products. I chose to rewire the jacks to A. My bad as my quick reading missed this. Panel fit well into a structured media enclosure and now I have cable modem, cable splitter, and Telcom lines in one box.
