Misreading and not worth buying
Didn’t work like it’s supposed to. Couldn’t even read the truck information correctly and you couldn’t erase codes, read them properly, and or change the speed limits. Took over a month to get a refund back. I would not buy this.

Nice portable Diagnostics kit
This unit worked well. It connected quickly and displayed the information promptly. I’ve had a misfire in this vehicle for some time and we use my brother-in-law’s Autel to bring up the codes. This device came up with the same codes plus it gave me a little more information. It suggested that the compression may be low causing the misfires. I’ve had misfires when I get in the higher RPM band. The app provides a lot of information and the device connected to the app very quickly. I have a tractor trailer license which I may be utilizing soon, so this will be very handy to keep in the glove box. I like how small the device is. It makes it convenient to store wherever you want to put it. The software seems to work very well. I’m looking forward to understanding what all the readouts mean as far as my engine performance.

At first glance, this would seem like a very simple scanner. It does not have a big tablet screen, or thick cables running all around. It does not come with a thick book of instructions, to tell you how to sue it. In fact, it looks like many of the those smaller scanners for cars, but just larger. Does it perform the same way? Heck, no! This scanner is astounding! Here’s why…First, you download the Ancel Trucker app to your phone. Zero fees involved – nice! You then simply plug the unit into an OBD2 port on your car or smaller truck – or the Green 9-pin on your full-sized unit – and let the two connect. That’s about it. It’s that simple.The amount of information is amazing. Not only can you pull up just about any codes your on-board computer module reads, but you can also ask for “live information”. And you can select different live information to be layered over top of other information. Think of this as a handheld diagnostic computer scanner, in a very streamlined package.As simple as the unit looks, it also appears built for the road. It has a very tough exterior, and although I would not use it to drive nails with, it does seem tough and well built.You can read virtually any code your vechicle can throw. You can modify a number of parameters. For example, you can change idle characteristics. You can circumvent speed settings that the truck has built in. And you can clear codes. A library function allows you to look up code meanings.This does not replace a good mechanic, but it does allow you to begin to isolate a problem area, and then determine if it is something you feel confident enough to look into, or take the truck in.There are no extras with the purchase of this unit. Ancel states that up-dates will be offered at no charge, and there will not be hidden fees, charges or ads embedded into the app.The Bluetooth worked without a fault! There was no issue at any time – it just worked!Bottom Line – For less than the cost of two hours of shop charges, you can purchase a tool that will help you gain insight into how your vechicle is doing, and it will perform like that for years to come. Ancel should be commended for making such a comprehensive tool, and keeping it updated at no cost to the consumer!Even if you are not the trucks owner, this simple and small device could save your trip by letting you know a new thrown code is not going to harm the truck, if you keep going. A really excellent device!

I honestly had low expectations from this scanner, but it blew me away! Once you have the app installed the time it takes to go from there to reading and resetting codes is literally seconds. I first plugged it into my 9-pin on a Kenworth and a DEF code popped up. I did a def delete a few years ago and I knew this code existed. It also means the service engine light stays on so I randomly scan using a neighbour’s scanner to detect any actual issues. Now I can do it myself! After resetting the fault I usually get a few thousand kilometres before the service light comes back on. I can now instantly remove it.The stats page shows just about every possible bit of data. More than I recall seeing in other scanners, but I honestly haven’t poked around in them too much.I also tested it on my F350 using the OBD port and it worked great! A solid little piece of kit that makes monitoring, reading codes, and clearing faults downright simple. The interface is on your phone’s screen so the display is something you are used to.
