Simple, Pragmatic, Invaluable Insight
I’ve been in the corporate arena for over the past 20 years and now seeking to establish myself in the field of speaking. This book has been invaluable in providing insight to the inner-workings of developing a brand and creating a presence in the market place. I’m still in the early stages of my business but very excited by the tools and frameworks offered by the book. Ironically, I had intended to purchase another speaking book but purchased this book in error – a happy accident. What I like most is the simple way the author presents the steps. It’s pragmatic and provides real value towards understanding what’s necessary to start out on the right track. It literally walks you through step-by-step on the process of establishing a solid business.Given what was provided in the book, I elected to check out the author’s podcast which is a goldmine of information and perspectives on the speaking industry. I am not a sponsor or in anyway affiliated with this author but the fact that the podcast is a treasure trove of free content is a real benefit to those of us trying to get a start in the industry.Check out the book, you won’t be disappointed.

EXCELLENT blueprint to building a speaking career!
I am just getting started with my speaking career, and needed a blueprint to help me get it off the ground. This book is an incredibly practical guide to building a speaking career from start to finish. Grant begins with helping you find a topic and an audience, then walks you through how to write and present a compelling speech. Beyond that, the book offers useful tips on how to actually get out there and book speaking gigs. It is a 5 step process that Grant has not only written about, but used to build his own successful speaking career. Not only is the book beneficial to new speakers just starting out, but also to established speakers who are looking to take their business to the next level. In addition, Grant is very down-to-earth and helpful through his podcast and online presence. His podcast is filled with interviews, stories, and amazing content that will help you get booked and paid to speak. I highly recommend this book.

No Bonus items available?? Let Grant know so he can work through it with you.
I purchased the Kindle Version as well as the audio, each chapter touts a link for bonus material that redirects you to Dropbox. While couldn’t remember my Dropbox account login so after work I got on my desktop login to Dropbox, open my kindle app, went to the link and had to resign in for “instant download” only thing you get is “404 error oops this page doesn’t work anymore.Within 24 hours, I received an email from Grant asking a few questions about the link, we emailed back and fourth through out the day as they worked out the kinks… and before my work day ended I received an email from Grant Baldwin saying:” Alright I think we fixed it. Try now and let me know if it worked.”I tried on both my iPad and my desktop and YES it worked.First, I am so grateful that Grant is a person of integrity and actually reads his reviews and cares.Second, the BONUS material is amazing. Just the first two bonus items were so filled with valuable information I can not wait to finish book and listen to each added bonus material.Thank you Grant.

This gave me confidence
I like the way this book is organized. It’s a fun, easy read and it boosted my confidence significantly. If you regularly speak to groups of people, this is a must read. You might never get up on a stage and speak professionally, but it’s still in your best interest to master the fine art of public speaking. This book will help you.

A Good Starter Book
A foundational primer to the speaking industry. The book delivers on its promise, which is good for those thinking about breaking into this industry. However, for those with almost any level of paid speaking experience, the book is merely a reminder of some of the basics we may have forgotten. This is a good starter book to get you thinking about a professional speaking career or getting paid token sums for speaking as a hobby. The techniques will work best if you aim to speak at high schools, colleges, community groups, and nonprofits. But if your goal is to enter the corporate or association speaking markets, you will need much more than this book to become successful.Throughout the book, the author constantly promotes his paid training programs and his free resources page. Unfortunately, the resources provided on his page are rudimentary examples or links to his podcast show.I highly recommend buying this book from Amazon, not the authorâs website. If you do the latter (and pay the $7 âshippingâ fee, which is slightly less than the paperback price on Amazon), you will get bombarded with almost daily emails from him and his team trying to sell you their training programs and other services.

Stop wasting your time trying to figure it out and read this now…
Grant shares his years of knowledge and insight in this perfectly laid-out guide to help with your speaking career.I am brand new in the speaking space and was looking for guidance to help me create a plan on how to enter into the game. Starting with his outstanding podcast, The Speaker Lab, to his website of the same name and now to this book, Grant is absolutely the leader in the speaking profession. He has actually made a ton of money doing it which was important to me. I attempt to get my advice from those that actually have experience in the area of their ‘expertise’ and Grant has that. He also is a great instructor which isn’t always the case with highly talented speakers.Use the guidance of the book, do the exercises, and get to work. We can do this! See you on the road.

This is a very inspiring book and written in such a methodical way that anyone can follow. The book, website and additional materials could not be more thorough and helpful. Written by someone with a real passion for what he does but he has also taken the care to make it really accessible.

This book was great. It was super practical and gave me a lot to think about as part of my role now is generating income through speaking. While most of this is to a different audience than what he is talking about, the book still provided a lot of useful tips and ideas.
