Good fit for round head
Great helmet though adjusting it is a pain. It required unscrewing the liner to access the vertical adjustment, but once I did it it was easy to get a snug fit. For reference I’m asian with a round head, which has been a pain with other helmet brands meant for oval headed ppl.

Okay for a helmet, but not new stock
I don’t like the look of most helmets but figured my accident-prone self should get one now that I’ve taken on a biking hobby. I looked at the Virginia Tech safety ratings and decided on this one because it has 5 stars and was relatively cheap compared to others. If your head measurement is right in between sizes as mine was, go for the smaller size. Originally I bought a medium but it wobbled too much on my head going side to side even when I adjusted it as tight as I could. I returned the medium and got a small. No complaints about the looks or fit of the helmet exactly, but both of the ones that I received have dates from 2022. The husband went with the Strada instead, and his is from 2021! That’s disappointing since they say in the booklet that the life of the helmet is only 3 years…

Scores highly in Virginia Tech’s helmet ratings
Virginia Tech rates this helmet the 23rd best of the 188 tested helmets they tested, giving it their highest (5*) impact testing rating that “evaluates a helmet’s ability to reduce linear acceleration and rotational velocity of the head resulting from a range of head impacts a cyclist might experience”.I hope never to test that performance personally. The 22 higher-ranked helmets were either unavailable, considerably more expensive, or geared towards mountain biking.Out of the box the helmet’s cranium support system was maxed out, making it very loose on my head. However, there’s a thumbwheel at the back of the helmet that I was able to tighten enough so that the L helmet snugly fit my head. I had measured my head size prior to ordering and I was at the very lowest end of the range for the L helmet so I believe the sizing is accurate.I got the bright red helmet because the more visible I am the better, and that’s not just the narcissist in me speaking.

Missed matched product
The helmet was a Specialized. It came in a Lazer box with a Lazer tag attached to the chin strap! I was not happy!!

Very comfy
Have tried many different cycling helmets in my day, especially ones that cost much more, one that cycling snobs/influencers push for âgainsâ being âaero, stylish, lightâ. To be honest Lazer have always made the most comfortable helmets ever with their top dial spherical retention system. Yes this isnât the most stylish helmet out there. Yes itâs heavier than some others ( honestly you canât feel the dang thing on your head). Itâs has MIPS for safety, a separate Aeroshell (purchased separate) fora race or cold days. Itâs well vented and channeled. Strap length doesnât get in the way, yes it will hold your shades. The only âconâ I could find is the padding is a little thin, but it really is not that bad. If you have a big head this is def for you..

Fits my ginormous head (24.5â)
Finding a helmet for my ginormous head is a problem. Very few manufactures make helmets for people with heads my sizeâ24.5â. They just donât. Smith has ONE helmet in their entire lineup that will fit me as does Lazer with the XL.Itâs a helmet so Iâm not going to get in detail. Just wanted to leave a review for other cranially endowed folks out there
