For fans of Denzel and ’70s/’80s movies
One of Denzel’s earlier rolls. Almost like a Hallmark channel style movie. I collect Denzel movies, so ot is a welcome addition!May not be to everyones taste, tho… Good for it’s time, but no Book of Eli, Crimson Tide or anything newer.

This is yet another one of my many favorite Denzel movies. As usual the actor becomes his character role and it makes the movie more believable. He’s charming, witty, and such an intelligent actor who excels in his field. The movie is in excellent condition and I would purchase from this seller again.

Important DVD information!
As I write this there are 3 versions of this movie available on DVD here. One is a Region 2 disk which I know nothing about. There is a significant difference in quality between the other two DVDs that are offered. The one dated March 4, 2004 from Echo Bridge Home Entertainment is far, far superior to the one dated February 1, 2008 from VCI Entertainment.The VCI disk is a very poor transfer from tape. It is obvious it is a copy of a tape because there are annoying tracking lines (if that is the right term) across the top of the screen throughout the movie. The picture itself is very washed out, too.In comparison, the Echo Bridge disk is much brighter; the picture is better overall compared to the VCI disk. There are no lines across the top of the screen, either. This is an older TV movie, so the picture doesn’t compare to any modern movies, but still, the difference between the two disks is very obvious. If you are interested in buying this movie on DVD, get the Echo Bridge version. The VCI one is a waste of money.An oddity I noticed: on both disks, the picture is in letterbox format for the opening and closing credits. The rest of the movie is in full screen (4:3) format.As for the movie itself, the other reviews here describe it pretty well. It is basically a morality tale about the dangers of drunk driving. It features Denzel Washington in one of his early roles as a supporting actor, not a lead. Ari Meyers is in it, too, in one of her first roles. It is a decent movie, well worth watching, in my opinion. Just be careful which version you get on DVD.

This should have been great.
The more movies I watch the more selective I get. 1984, 1hr 35min. Simple plot: Drunk driver kills daughter, mother falls apart, father runs the household, work, and starts legal action. Review is only my opinion: IMDb rating of 5.5 is perhaps a bit high. The movie suffers from simple dialogue and poor acting (with the exception of Danzel Washington and the Judge character). It was 100% predictable throughout. I found it frustratingly preachy by way of over-emphasizing how selfish and irresponsible the driver was (is). I found that only the trial conclusion at the end of the movie was worth watching. The dvd itself is in fine shape.

My review of the USA televison film – License to Kill
Not to be confused with the James Bond movie by the same name. This is a hard hitting story of a drink driving case. It is well scripted and thewhole film I found very absorbing. I had seen this film some considerable time ago and was very pleased to see that it has now been released on DVD.I recommend this film to anyone who has not yet had the opportunity to see it.

This film seemed to be a public announcement regarding drunk driving. It takes you through the events of the accident to the verdict of the trial. Between this it presents the heartship both families suffer. Though it was slightly entertaining, it was not worthy of purchase.
