Simply does the job
I bought this switch to control a small space heater in my potting shed during the late winter/early spring. I’m monitoring temps using SensorPush (highly recommended), and want to keep the seedlings warm at night, where it can drop below 40f at night.This switch was easily added to my network via the app (yet another app and related account). There is an Alexa skill for RCA Smart Home that had no problem finding the device, and it seems to work OK. I may look at setting up an IFTTT rule if Alexa handles the SensorPush alerts in some way, but for now, I’ll just check it periodically and manually switch the heater off via the app.Even though this is considered an outdoor switch, it isn’t waterproof that I can see, so while it will work for my use case (on an outdoor outlet under a porch roof), it probably won’t work in an uncovered area.But, it’s fairly inexpensive and does the job, so far.
