GREAT value!
This used laptop greatly exceeded my expectations. It looks and works almost exactly as a new one. The battery life is excellent and the included programs work properly. The only thing I changed was the boot sequence because it was set to boot from a network connection instead of from the on-board operating system. The original setup was not a problem because when no network was detected, it quickly then switched to the on-board operating system boot, but I prefer this boot sequence. It’s also not difficult to change the boot sequence and instructions can easily be found online if desired. I loaded my Microsoft Office 2003 (which I prefer over the newer (crappier) versions and other programs without any difficulty. I am very pleased with this laptop and saved hundreds of dollars over purchasing a new laptop that I likely not like because I do not like the newer Microsoft programs and how they essentially take over the setup and operability of the computer and programs.

I am a big dell girl and like to be eco-friendly, so of course I would look for a refurbished (renewed) laptop on Amazon. The specs on this laptop are great and they work well for what I needed it for. No webcam on the laptop but no big deal cause I like to have 4K quality anyways which is easy to get if I ever want it later. I am happy with Amazon’s renewed service and products. Will be coming back for more. The computer came perfect, if anything changes I will add an update. Out of the box though, I’m super happy with my laptop and purchase.Review Update | 4/10/23I am still happy with the Laptop the only downfall is that the battery came with 75% battery capacity and dies after a few hours of use. It also cannot be updated to Windows 11. Because of this, it lost a star! Other than that, I will keep an eye out on anything else and update this review if needed.Review Update | 5/18/23After using this laptop for a little over a month now I have just seen two things pop up for the laptop. (1) the battery continues to be no good. I have to charge it all the time. (2) the built in speaker is now giving me static noises as if they are defective. Doesn’t matter if its on a low volume setting, or high…. So in summary bad battery, bad built-in speakers.

Great purchase
This was a great purchase for me, but there are a few things a buyer should be aware of when getting one of these computers.The renewed computer I got works and looks great, but the power cord was intermittent. This is not a Dell part, so to get a new one I would have had to return the entire computer. I didn’t want to do that, so I just bought a new power supply and cord for $17. No big deal.Also, these are “renewed” computers, so they are not the latest models. The one I received was actually made in 2017. Again, no big deal, but the firmware, software, and drivers were all outdated. Updates can easily be downloaded from the Dell website at no cost, it just takes a while. Just be prepared to do that.Overall, I am very satisfied. I would definitely buy it again. For the price, what I got was a bargain.

“Refurbished” nightmares.
This was the biggest waste of money ever. The laptop was so glitchy from day one that I should have sent it back, but didn’t. It’s supposed to be “refurbished” but someone did a terrible job. It’s so unreliable it’s barely tolerable. Things pop up constantly, and what I’m working on disappears, something just dropping down, sometimes gone permanently. I needed to use it anyway because my old computer had Windows 7, and I couldn’t install WORD, which was required for manuscript writing, so I just lived with it. Even writing this review was difficult. It froze, reduced in size, and wouldn’t let me write, taking up time I couldn’t spare. Don’t trust “refurbished.” I finally saved up enough money to buy a refurbished desktop, which worked fine until the first auto-update, which made it crash. “Refurbished” has been a nightmare.

I received a quality laptop at a price that I wanted to pay for the product. I arrived in great shape with all the parts that I needed in a very timely fashion. I preforms all of the tasks that I need it to without lag and is a great way to save not only money but the environment by giving new life to an older computer.

Far exceeded expectations
Laptop arrived in good order. Using the product ID on back searched Dell and updated bios and drivers. Performance, battery life and backlit keyboard are all great. Screen quality is just ok, but movies look good Screen is good enough. Audio is great! Lots of ports!This laptop is light/portable and based on all above far better than expected. For these reasons even though years older than my newer Dell I’m using this one a lot more.As I plan on using this a lot more than planned, I upgraded RAM to 16 gb (super easy). I bought a webcam to attach when I need to do video calls. I upgraded to Window 11. Now Dell will tell you it’s not supported. But I found a list on Dell where this laptop was tested with Windows 11. I did run the utility to upgrade boot from MBR to GPT and set bios to secure boot. found steps online. Just ran one command. Rebooted and set bios. Was good to go. This laptop has an older version of TPM than Windows 11 would prefer, but was only yellow on Windows 11 pre-check. But the one red item was this processor just missed Windows 11 cutoff. I found online an approach to bypass the Windows 11 check and this worked great. Windows 11 installed and is running with no issues. Was able to install Windows 11 as an upgrade so kept all my files and settings Performs as well when WIndows10.For the $$ this was a great purchase.

Problem with the screen
When I set it up for the first time it had a broken spot on the screen that is white and also has orange lines but thats only in one spot the rest is fine the preformance is good and so is the keyboard.

This laptop is better than hoped. It looks brand new, it’s fast, a great keyboard layout, lit keyboard and it does come with a webcam. Not yet sure of battery life, only used about 2 hours not plugged in and there was lots left. Why buy new
