Another winner from Saiyin.
I actually didn’t have super high hopes for this given the price and small drivers. I was pleasantly surprised.I am familiar with several other Saiyin speaker products and find them quite good. As usual, packaging was good and the speakers arrived in great shape. Fit and finish of these were perfect, no flaws or anomalies. Each speaker already comes with little dampening pads at each corner of the bottoms.I unhooked each speaker of my current surround setup and hooked these up. At first turn on, playing some soft Jazz, they sounded really good, but my Sub was still on. I turned the volume of my Sub all the way off to listen to these on there own.As you may have anticipated, these are not going to have deep bass, however they do produce lower frequency tones quite well. I was really surprised how well they sounded on their own. My receiver was set to 5 channel stereo so that all 5 of these little guy’s were playing at the same level. Even with the Sub off, they are actually listenable on there own. In just 2 channel stereo mode they really lack bass and you would require a Sub, but I think the Center channel speaker adds the bass your missing to some degree when run in 5 channel stereo.Adding just a hint of Sub volume really brought it together, and you don’t need much to make them sound full. The sound of them is quite natural, listening to TV shows, the vocals are really true sounding, not tinny at all.These little speakers can handle power quite well, in fact they take quite a bit of power to run. Compared to my current setup, I had to have the volume up about 5db to get to the same output level. I had my receiver set to Large speakers as well, giving them full range audio and I played them quite loud. They took everything in stride, no distortion at all. FYI, I am using a Yamaha surround sound receiver for this.All in all, these are great little speakers, and paired with a SUB you have a fantastic sounding budget system that takes up almost no space.
