Samsung’s Odyssey OLED G8 Gaming Monitor brings content to life with 4K UHD OLED. Images shine with 250 nits of brightness and a wider spectrum of colors, shades, and contrasts. 240Hz refresh rate, and 0.03ms response time (GtG) allow near-instant response time to stay ahead of the competition, and G-Sync compatibility keeps the GPU and panel synced up to eliminate choppiness, screen-lag, and image tears. The new OLED Safeguard+ – including Dynamic Cooling & Thermal Modulation systems – helps prevent burn-in. OLED Glare-free technology significantly reduces glare, and the Dynamic Black Equalizer analyzes and adjusts sharpness, saturation, and black details. Gaming Hub provides instant access to streaming platforms and gaming consoles, or you can watch your favorite shows with Smart TV apps. The sleek metal design with height-adjustable screen that swivels and tilts for total gaming comfort, and the Easy Setup Stand enables installation of the monitor with no tools or screws. Comes with a 3-Year warranty.
¹Based on GtG measured under internal test conditions. Results may vary by content and monitor settings. GtG (Gray to Gray) measures the time taken for a monitor pixel to change from one gray value to another. Refresh rate and response time may vary based on the performance of the input source. ²Images simulated for illustrative purposes. ³When “”Adjust Logo Brightness”” setting is on “”Off”” or “”Low,”” Thermal Modulation is active in preset picture modes only. When “”Adjust Logo Brightness”” setting is on “”High,”” Thermal Modulation is always active. ⁴Logo detection is active in AV mode only. ⁵Based on internal test results. ⁶Screen images simulated for illustrative purposes. The application of the G-Sync logo on the package and product may vary depending on the time of purchase. ⁷Screen images simulated for illustrative purposes. To use the Dynamic Black Equalizer, Game Mode must be activated in settings.

Customers say

Customers praise the monitor’s OLED panel and picture quality, with beautiful colors and good color accuracy. The brightness receives mixed feedback – while it prevents glare from lights and the sun, some find the screen too dark. Setup is frustrating, and the software quality is criticized for being terrible. The monitor’s functionality and build quality also receive mixed reviews, with some saying it works well while others report hardware issues. Value for money opinions are divided between those who find it worth the price and those who consider it not worth the money.

    Great Smart Monitor
This monitor is great for my use. I’d love to see the gaming performance on a PC. I use it for my PS5 Pro and smart features for streaming apps. It has an Internet search app as well. It’s compatible with Bixby and Alexa. I really like this monitor because it reminds me of my Q80C Samsung tv. The AI enhanced technology helps improve the quality of content as well. The color and sharpness are very good. It may require some tweaking of the colors and brightness but it’s great right out the box. If you’re looking for a mini smart tv/monitor, this is the one! If you’re solely looking for a monitor, this one might not be the best because you may be required to adjust the start up settings. Maybe LG OLED or alternative Samsung OLED monitor. The refresh rates are really good but haven’t been tested to its full capabilities since console gaming is limited to 4K 120hz and the value might be best when it’s on a discount/reduced price. Everyone loves savings though! There are a ton of great features to preserve the screen panel and improve the longevity of the monitor. After a few minutes of being idle, it goes into a screensaver mode and has really cool color function on the back of the monitor. The screen panel has a 36month/3 year OLED burn in warranty and all parts are also covered for 36 months. Check your information when you set up the registration as well to ensure you upload your proof of purchase.

    Absolute Disaster of a Monitor
My previous monitor was a 3k asus mini-led gaming monitor. Which was great and served me well. However after a few years of hardcore use it was starting to have some pixel degradation. So I opted to go for an OLED option. An samsung QD-OLED no less which is supposed to be the begin all end all. Needless to say its an absolute disaster. Let me start with some pros/consPros:-Great picture quality (when it works)-Crazy fast refresh rate (when you can get it to work past 60hz)-Nice finish and lookCons:-Constant disconnects on displayport-HDMI 2.1 is awful on my 4090, pictures are muted and I cannot get brightness up for some reason-Constant disconnects on HDMI-Ridiculously terrible annoying samsung OS-Cant disable samsung smart stuff-When asleep and waking wont go direct to desktop, have to use remote to get to desktopSo Im am what I would consider a power user. I have a 7970x threadripper, 128gb ddr5 RDram, 4090 and 3 monitors in total. This in the middle flanked by two 27″ monitors. Even my more budget 27″ monitors put this thing to shame. The color, brightness, tone and RGB is just awful. Ive have tried everything to get it to work, high end overpriced DP cables (tried 8 of them, over 200 bucks worth) many HDMI cables (6 in total). Tried different ports on the 4090, changed settings in nvidia software, literally everything. It just simply is awful. It will always black out at some point for 10-30 seconds than magically reappear. Nothing I can do will solve this. The only solution I can find that solves the muted colors, disconnect, poor color and what not is lowering the refresh rate to 60hz. I paid a lot of money for something that has a 240hz refresh rate. My previous asus was at 144hz. This is a huge step down. Ive not purchased another asus 32″ mini-led and just said goodbye to my expensive monitor paper weight. I cant say Ive been this disappointed in a purchase in as far back as I can remember. I would avoid this thing like the plague, its truly a terrible version of the QD-OLED that are supposed to be the best

    Monitor is just the best.
I am not using Smart TV functions but Monitor is perfect for gaming, but things you need to know is, that I bought Used – Like new and Display port cable was missing.. but I bought it almost 40% cheaper, so all good.. now I am using another DP and it works pretty well. Color accuracy is realy good too. I have tried qd-oled Dell alienware too with 360 hz vs Samsung 360 hz both qd-oled, but samsung is much better overal. Also I have tested a lot to fix vrr flickers on 3 oled monitors.. 2 of them were Samsung with VRR control and this function does nothing, it gives you same stutters as to turn off Free sync or G-sync. so I think VRR control is just useless.. now I can say that this is best monitor at the moment, next I am waiting for Samsung odyssey with Dual-wide 32:9, 57 inch, 240 hz, UHD, Qd-oled monitor 3:)

Don’t buy this. Not worth the Money, Severe Software problems!
I’ve had this monitor for some months now and i will say this monitor is HORRIBLE! The software is TERRIBLE!I want a monitor not a mini smart TV, Constant bloatware, data tracking, all sorts of nonsense you will never use…Cant set refresh rate to 240Hrz unless you enable gamer mode. WHY?Monitor likes to flash black at least 1 time after first power on randomly. VERY ANNOYING!All the updates and nothing seems to fix the issues.Latest software update introduced a new bug where I need to turn off and re-enable gamer mode to get 240Hrz or else it defaults to 120Hrz and WILL NOT let you go high in 4k without reducing your resolution to 1440p WHY?!$1000 for this CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!That aside, the panel, color, and quality of the screen is amazing, but something needs to be done with the horrible software of this monitor. I would suggest people buy Asus or some other brand that has a monitor and for a mini-“smart” TV.Now its long after return date and I am stuck with this thing. I kpet it hoping Samsung would by now release some patches to fix it, but after 3 updates, nothing is fixed, just adds more bloat features.

great screens, terrible software and support
amazing monitors, but using two of them with Windows 11 will result in frequent swapping each boot and wakeup, where the monitors will shut on and off repeatedly. sometimes turning one off then on fixes it, sometimes cable swapping back and forth fixes it, and sometimes it really is a pain because nothing fixes it, it’s a crapshoot. I feel a little crazy keeping them with this issue, but they really do look that good. Samsung suggested sending them in, but I suggest to Samsung that they write new drivers and firmware for their product, since that’s where the issue lies

I actually never write reviews, but for once i thought i would share my experience. This is coming from a fan of the Samsung TV’s (i have the Samsung OLED 4K S90C and i love it), so i thought i would purchase a Samsung gaming PC monitor as well.First of all, it has a little power supply box which is awkward and takes up extra space, also needed a power cable extension but that’s a side note. Out of the box, i was getting weird issues where the monitor is supposed to be 240hz, but it would often start up locked in at 120hz no matter what i would do, the only solution for this was that i kept having to unplug the display port from the back of my PC and plug it back in, then it would go back to 240hz.Second issue i was getting was that the display would randomly go black for 1-3 seconds and come back, this was usually happening often within the first 5 minutes of the monitor being turned on. Kind of annoying if you’re in the middle of gaming, all of a sudden, you’re blind for 1-3 seconds for no apparent reason. And finally, the nail in the coffin, after only 8 months of use, the monitor just dies, for no apparent reason, there’s been no damage to the monitor or anything, it just shut off and never turned back on. I tried just about everything to bring it back to life but nothing. So this was a big waste of money.I went to buy myself the “MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED 32” as a replacement, and i’m loving it so far, everything works perfectly, and the colors and HDR actually looks better. The monitor always starts at 240hz, doesn’t randomly go black for no reason.Again this review is coming from a big fan of the Samsung S90C OLED TV, really no complaints when it comes to the TV, and maybe i just got unlucky with this monitor being faulty, but when you spend this kind of money, you expect it to work properly, and not die in less than a year.I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else who purchases this monitor.

The OLED panel itself may be technically decent, but this monitor overall is bad. Here’s why:- Only DisplayPort 1.4- HDMI 2.1 is only FRL5 (4x10Gbit/s) unlike other monitors which are FRL6 (4x12Gbit/s)- No setting to disable DSC (display stream compression)- Extremely annoying “smart TV” features- Poor colour accuracy (despite what rtings claims, but see the comments on their review agreeing with the colour accuracy issues)- Poor text clarity, the worst of any 4k display I’ve ever seen- 32″ instead of the standard 27″ size which results in lower pixel density- Not really 240Hz because none of its inputs support true 4k 10bit 240Hz without extreme compression and artifacts. You’re limited to around 120Hz and only on the HDMI port if you want to avoid DSC.That being said, it’s more similar to a 4k OLED TV but with none of the advantages of a TV like high brightness and higher dynamic range. It’s ok for games or movies, and terrible for every other use case.

I think I’m the first one to write a review about the G80SD, the newest Odyssey G8 model. This monitor is incredible! The best way to use it is to set it to custom mode for both HDR and SDR content. That way, you can quickly switch between them depending on what you’re watching or playing. I just tested it out for some games, and it was fantastic!
