I’ve taught several family members using this.
I self-taught using Alfred’s Adult book series, so I was looking for something for the absolute beginner aged 8-12. I’ve taught several different family members to play using this book. The way it starts with small skills and then builds piece by piece is just mind-blowing. Having self-taught, I am no piano master, so I know it’s not because of my great teaching skills that this book has worked. The book is just that good at building a beginners skills without overwhelming them. My daughter enjoys the songs, we go around humming them during the day and she enjoys playing. She will jump on the piano throughout the day to play her favorite songs just for the fun of it. You’d think she had taken years of piano lessons, but no, it’s just Alfred’s. I’ve tried others books, but nothing beats Alfred’s.

    Great piano course
Great piano course, especially for those without a teaching experience! It has each of the Lesson, Theory and Solo lessons put together in one book. I started this system with my children because I had never taught before and wasn’t sure how to put everything together. I loved it so much that I use it with all my piano students that I teach now! It’s also a cheaper way to start because you only have to get one book at a time! It also cuts out a little from the regular system, which moves so slowly, so the children can progress a little faster!

    Great for young piano students
My sister has a college major in Piano Performance and teaches piano lessons so I asked for her recommendation for a book to teach a 3rd grade beginning piano student. She recommended Alfred’s All-In-One Course books because they include lessons, theory, and recital pieces so the student doesn’t have to have use separate books for each of these during their lesson. I started my student with Book 1 and she did a great job with it. The lesson pages are followed by corresponding theory workbook pages that are relevant to what the student has just learned so the instructional progression is very smooth. I recommend this series.

The same book as at camp.
My daughter gets daily piano lessons at her day camp. It’s a day camp that teaches art, and she chose piano. We got this book so she could have the same book for practicing at home that they use at camp. If the experts are using this book to teach piano, it is the right book.

    Good Intro to Piano
My son’s piano teacher recommended that we get this book to help him learn the basics and it was a great start. He learned very quickly and enjoyed it.

    Great piano lesson books
I teach my 2 kids piano (age 10 and 12). They are doing very well and it’s easy for me to teach with this set of lesson books. I like that it has theory and practice all in one book. It makes it easier. Also, clear instructions for teaching each lesson and song.

    We love the Alfred books
My girls love these piano books. They are reasonably priced and have a lot of content. My daughter just came to “Pauses & Rainbows” and her piano teacher told her it says “Fermatas & Rainbows” in her older version of the book. Fermatas are only pauses when over a rest and even if it is over a rest the musical term is still Fermata, not pause. So I do not know why it was changed in the newer version of the book.
