A great, super-easy to install and use light. Lumary FTW!
I have other Lumary lights, so I’m already familiar with their setups, and had the app installed. That made installation a breeze – we literally unscrewed the old bulb and fixture, placed this one in the can after popping the retaining springs/arms in place, and after powering it up, just had to click a single button to add it to my network. After renaming it and creating a new room for it to be in, it’s creating much nicer light than the light it replaced, which was an older LED spotlight.The colors are numerous, and more than I need – I honestly don’t plan on using them, but for parties or fun, they’re there and work well. It integrates with Google Home, which I already had set up – seconds after creating the room and light, I was able to use my voice assistant to turn the light on, off, blue, white, etc.It fit in the existing cans we had, which seem made for 6″ lights, and it looks great – much better than the prior exposed LEDs. This, along with the fact that the light quality is controllable (warmer, cooler, etc.) as well as adjustable in brightness means we’ll actually USE this light, instead of the useless one it replaced.$30 seems fair – less than a Hue equivalent, but more than a basic BR30. The only reason I’d choose a Hue is that they’re a bit smarter, and have power setting memory, so if you lose power at night, you don’t get flashbanged when the power comes back on if you had that set correctly. These have no such option, so might not be best for the bedroom or sleeping areas.

Its ultra thin design (just 1.29″ thick) gives it a sleek, modern appearance that sits flush with the ceiling. The material quality appears durable for long-term indoor use.If I were to pick one area for improvement, it’s that these lights are not compatible with traditional dimmer switches. This means control has to be entirely through the app or voice assistants, which might not suit everyone’s preference. Fantastic ceiling lights for our VR arcade.
We ended up picking up about 12 of these (3 packs) and used them throughout our entire arcade. We have them installed but I haven’t had a chance to install the app and pair them with my phone yet. Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly there. I love that you can completely change the color and not just the temperature. This will allow us to really dial in the ambient light and set them to red and green (for example) during December. I really wish they would have been available in dark grey or black, as our whole business in dark and the white frames stuck out like a sore thumb, but we were able to take off the light covers and paint them. We did have them professionally installed, so I can’t say how easy that process was, but they didn’t seem to have any issues getting them installed.For the price, I’m really pleased with the style and functionality, and at this point wouldn’t hesitate to recommend picking some of these up. I will update my rating and review after I pair them and have a chance to use them a bit.

A nice RGB wifi light requiring wire connections.
I installed this light in an existing can light fixture. I first removed the standard bulb, then removed the trim ring, at this point realizing that the new light should required changes to the wiring, I put the project on hold. I placed an Amazon order for some “E26 Socket Adapters” Amazon item B0F9L1WXD9. When they arrived I connected one inside of the new junction box after adding a rubber gromet to one of the knock out holes. I screwed the E26 adapter into the existing light socket and then plugged in the new connector. I tucked the new junction box and the wires into the can and then installed the new light into the can. There seemed to be plenty of room in the can but I am sure it looks like a mess up there, but no one will ever know. The finished installation looks great, like a pro had done it. I turned on the power and used the existing Smart Life App on my phone to connect the light to my wifi network and then asked google home to “synchronize all devices”. From that point on I had full control of the color and brightness of the new light. This turned out very nice. Plenty of light output and any coloring that I could ever want or any type of white light that I could think of to ask google to make it. I can only recommend this if you are going to have an electrician install it. At $30 per light it seems over priced when compared to Amazon item B0DJHF32G7 that is only $20 per light and includes the E26 adapter. Time will tell if there is any performance or longevity differences between them.
