SIMPLE to install…. Great to have!
This was a replacement for a previous key less entry pad that, after about 13 years, finally started acting weird. It was SUPER easy to install by myself in less then 20 minutes! It also didn’t require any special cutting off holes because it fit perfectly where old key pad was!Batteries are also easy to change because no screws needed to take off cover…. love that! Love the color too. It did have an option to “auto- lock” , which i did not choose…. because i go in and out so much daily. Being retired and here all day, ( have a doggo that needs frequent pee breaks), and i do run in and out to garden and sit on porch… it was annoying to have to use key pad every time. But for some, I’m sure that feature could be helpful… altho you need to set it up initially.

The perfect lock and it’s an ANSI Grade 2 lock!
For a few years I kept wanting to get one of these locks and after some research, I found this perfect one! For the price, ANSI Class, features and build, it is the best deal youâll ever gonna find!One of the most important factors when picking (pun intended) a lock, is to look for its ANSI Class certification. Youâd want one thatâs either ANSI Class 1 or 2. The ANSI Class 1 is usually commercial grade and a lot more expensive but at the minimum, a Class 2 would suffice. Nothing lower! NONE of the âno brandâ Made somewhere in Asia locks sold on Amazon and which sport all sort of bells and whistles ⦠are ANSI Class 2 or 1. And that matters.This lock is (ANSI Class 2).With that out of the way, Iâll say that installation was a breeze. It all fit. I got it all done in about 30 minutes time, including programming and setting it up. The built (Made in Mexico which I trust) is great. Heavy and hefty. Oozes confidence and security. Looks great and setting it up was very easy. I wanted something simple from the start, non-WiFi, app driven or even Bluetooth. I donât trust any of these technologies as theyâre easily hackable.The pad on this thing lights up and itâs easy to dial in the passkey. Opens up fast and effective. The same with locking. I have mine locking automatically but there are a lot of choices in terms of setting the lock up. The features are more than sufficient.Also very important to me, was the feature to open with a key. This particular model can be âre-keyedâ but be aware that youâd need a Kwikset key that matches the 2 that come with the lock. I hid one outside the house, somewhere that is almost impossible to find (unless you know the place :-), just in case something happens and I cannot key code myself to unlock the lock. That was an important feature when choosing this lock.The entire family loves it and felt comfortable using it immediately. No more keys. Everyone has a code. Now, I can hold a whole bunch of things in my hands (coffee mug, backpack, lunch bag, etc) when I leave home and not have to fumble for keys to lock the door behind me! It locks by pressing one single button or automatically, after one minute. Or coming home late at night when I always had to make sure I got the keys ready! Itâs liberating.I love this thing! A great product from a good company with long tradition in this business.

Easy to install and re-key! Looks nice
Super easy to install and use. Not WIFI but you can set the auto lock feature so that’s handy. I put this on my front door at my condo and now I have one on my garage access door at my current house. It has the ability to key to you your other locks making it possible to have fewer keys which is a bonus! Uses batteries and you can enable or disable the keypad tone if you want. Would recommend!

A Great lock.
This lock does not have all the bells and whisles like the smart locks but it makes up for it in battery life. I like the simple look and the keypad funtions. The installation was simple and i was able to rekey it. Overall im satisfied with this purchase.

This is much better than an oder, more digital Kwikset lock that it replaced. Installation took 5 minutes. Works great and can rekey easily to use your old key. I bought it for $88 and now its over $100.

Amazon Peddling Used Items As New
The 1 star rating has nothing to do with the quality or functionality of the product. My intent is to bring attention to how Amazon has made an habit of listing items as “new” yet sending an item that has obviously been used. This item arrived in a box that was a little beaten up and and unsealed. The item (Kwikset door lock) was in great condition but it was VERY apparent the item had been used and returned. Only the screws appeared to be newly added to the box. To be clear the lock works perfectly and all the necessary parts were included. I’m still quite miffed that Amazon would list an item as new and it NOT be in fact new. Regarding the lock itself….its a great lock. Please be aware that it does not work with the kwikset app (the reason I think it was returned) and that it’s one inherent flaw is that it has no illumination to show you your first button press if you are in the dark, so you may need to enter the wrong code initially in order to see the illuminated numbers and enter the correct code. Other than that it was very quick easy to install. I installed mine in about 20 mins.(I do have prior -amateur- experience installing locks) and so all of the “prep” work like mortises and boring was already done. The instructions were plain and easy to follow. I DO recommend this lock but I think it would serve people better as a backdoor or interior garage door lock. For a front/main door I would suggest you shell out a little more money and get the wifi/app compatible version. Sorry if my 1-star rating is misleading or damaging to the brand but I’m hoping people will read this and be aware of Amazon and it’s unscrupulous practices.
