Nice clean updated look
This is the next generation Breville Luxe coffee brewer that replaces the previous Breville Precision coffee brewer. I have both, and they produce equally great coffee. The new Luxe version has some nice upgrades, and is slightly more compact. In my opinion this is the pinnacle of coffee brewing.

difficult to operate
The direction’s booklet for this coffee maker was a series of hieroglyphics. Then, I scanned a QR code for directions and they were minimal at best. Then I watched a 30 minute video multiple times and was still clueless on the operation. The first pot of brewed coffee and the coffee grounds spilled out all over my counter. Then, it was RETURNED. Breville should spend more time on clear, articulate instructions, and less time on OVER engineering a drip coffee maker.

Insufficient instructions
Instructions are insufficient. We had to download more complete information, but even that did not cover all bases. Little drawings don’t help much if they are ambiguous. Drip-stop doesn’t always work, and sometimes the machine doesn’t want to wake up from Sleep Mode. However, the coffee is delicious!

Breville coffee maker
Great product, I have several Breville appliances and love every one. Â I liked the cold brew feature on this coffee pot and the ability to brew hot coffee as wellÂ

Just not for me, couldnât get a smooth tasting cup
Machine is beautiful to look at. Â So many options and settings to choose from. Â Problem for me was that I tried every setting and just couldnât get a really good cup of coffee. Â I do not like strong coffee. Â I like flavorful coffee, but just want a smooth cup. Â I donât want bitter or sour coffee. Â I just couldnât make this work for me. Â Maybe if I liked stronger coffee, it would have been better. Â I think I donât use enough coffee grounds per cup for the âbloomingâ and flow rate, and flow volume settings to work right for the amount of coffee Iâm using. Â I tried using more coffee, but I did not enjoy that cup either.

Complicated
Only tried it out once so far but it seems complicated! I had to watch a 30 minute tutorial before I could brew anything! Will report back tomorrow!

Not worth the money
Very seldom do I review items that do not do their job very well. But this item does it’s job so poorly I felt I must considering the amount of money you pay to own this coffee maker. I bought the coffee maker because I wanted a unit that had a carafe instead of a warming plate (cooking the coffee continually after it was made). That was the only reason I paid the amount of money I did considering they said it would keep coffee hot for 4 hours after it was made. It will not keep coffee hot for an hour. I first adjusted the brewing temperature as high as it would go to see if that would help – it did not. I then started prewarming the carafe before brewing the coffee to see if that would help and it did not. I then started warming the milk before making the coffee and that did not help so I returned the unit. And, with all the features it had to make excellent coffee in my opinion it only made average coffee. I ended up purchasing a unit that does all of the things above but does not have the carafe and makes excellent coffee. That unit cost one fifth the price of this one.

Great Brewer
Love this brewer and don’t understand all the hand-wringing about it being complicated. If you just want a basic brew, it requires two button presses. If you want to customize, you need to use the fairly intuitive customization menu. And the coffee it brews is fantastic! I also appreciate the carafe. It pours nicely without having a dribble of coffee dripping down the front when you’re done.Â
