Good book
i read this from the hospital, and honestly it was pretty solid overall. it’s got that “all-in-one” vibe for sureâtouches on everything from basic bookkeeping to taxes, even some investor analysis. the templates were actually useful (rare for freebies like that) and the fraud detection chapter was a nice unexpected bonus. the tone stays friendly and beginner-safe, which helps if you’re already feeling overwhelmed. For the not-so-amazing part: while it does cover a lot, the depth isnât always consistent. some chapters fly by like a podcast summary, others go into more detail than a beginner might want. woulda loved a little more visual clarityâsome sections feel like plain walls of text. but overall, it gave me enough confidence to handle basic stuff in my biz without panic. if youâre looking for a chill, wide-angle intro to accounting, itâs a good one to have.

technical, thorough, beginner friendly
No need to take an accounting class, this book is outlined like a course. From the first few pages I could tell it was high quality content. It is very detailed but also understandable- I am going to have my teenager daughter read it this summer to help her understand money topics better. My favorite part was it has a lot of links to resources you can use! Itâs really like getting a full course for the cost of one book!

Really enjoyed, very helpful
This is a very thorough guide for beginning accounting. I feel like the last half of the book was more advanced, but still I could follow the process. The quizzes throughout the book helped me identify my level of understanding. It was around 90% in the first half and 80% in the last half on average. The book has bonus content throughout with examples of concepts as one type of additional feature. The charts in the book help with understanding the concepts. The book layout is user friendly and I plan to continue to use this guide to help with my small business accounting.
