Best Mid Price Gaming PC Option in Summer 2025
Pros:* Fast, cool, and quiet. After hours of gaming with Stalker 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and BG3, max temp hit by the CPU was only 79 degrees C, and that only for a very brief time. My old ASUS Tuf would be at least ten degrees hotter after such a test. Also of note, at the end of that test, the fans do not sound like Blackhawk helicopters under military power, an annoying characteristic that both my older Asus and older HP Omen had. Test was done “vanilla” with no external cooler fans, repasting, etc.* Nicely configured hardware. The 5060, Ryzen 7, and WD SSD drive all work well together.* WD SSE drive, very high quality, reads at 6300 mbps.* Second SSE slot is open.* Caser very easy to open, well organized.* Good build quality. The Acer feels very solid and can be opened with one hand. The unit has no “flex”.* Good gaming performance. Cyberpunk 2077 at 2K / high detail can hit 65 fps with ray tracing on and can reach well over 100 FPS with ray tracing off.* Reasonable price and good component value. Costs $100 more than similarly configured laptops selling with 4050 GPUs, 16 GB RAM, and 512 GB HDs, machines much worse in all ways.Neutral:* FHD screen, fast but dim. Typical of midrange laptops. I suggest using an external monitor anyway, but if you plan on playing all the time off the laptop, you may want a better screen option, which will likely cost a lot more.* Port selection is adequate. 3 3.2 USB As, 1 USB 4.0 C, 1 HDMI, SD card reader, headphone jack. Decent, but a Thunderbolt port and / or additional C port would be welcome.Cons:* Front of lid seems to be easily smudged and seems a fingerprint magnet.* Usual annoying bloatware that needs deletion, including world’s worst AV software (McFluffy).* Need to set up / sign into MS to launch the operating system. Owners should have the option to bypass this annoying step.* Documentation is close to non-existent, both in terms of what’s in the box and what’s online.* 32GB RAM comes as two 16 GB chips, so upgrading to 64 GB means having to buy two new chips instead of one. Every PC maker seems to do this, which does not make it any less annoying. Give me one 32 GB chip, charge me $20 more.Note: Make sure to purchase directly from Amazon. Third party sellers often void mfgr warranties by adding components themselves and some will ship returned machines as new. Amazon is the only PC seller I’d buy from on their site.Bottom Line: Well balanced, well made, and reasonably priced for high value components.

Amazing performance!
Works amazing so far! The performance is honestly insanely high for this price. The screen quality is amazing, the sound quality is decent. But overall, very worthwhile if you want to play more modern games on high graphics settings and also want Ray Tracing. Not to mention you’ll also be ready for future titles now.

LOVE IT!!! Sleek, lightweight & powerful
This is a really nice Sleek, lightweight & powerful 16″ laptop. I got it thru the Vine program as I had gotten it’s predecessor Nitro 5 (AN515-58-57Y8) in 2023 – which I also loved, still love, it’s a great machine & my kids are super lucky little poops to get is as a hand-me-down.Anyway, on to this spectacular unit: I really really love this computer from it’s looks to its speed and function. It is such an upgrade from the 2023 model in many fun ways as well as functional. It is a very sleek & lightweight unit with a crystal clear & bright 16″ WUXGA 1920 x 1200 ultra high-resolution display with a 180Hz refresh rate. Great for streaming movies, gaming & graphic design work. It has backlit soft-click keys w/ a 10-key that are smooth & silent w/ a fun rainbow gradient – a big plus for me as I often uses it at night in bed & now hubby doesn’t have to listen or feel clicking. The trackpad is huge too – easily 2x the size of my old one and very responsive with clear right-click zone that is easy to hit. It is a smooth cool steel color which I love. Super sleek & streamline, very low profile and lightweight for it’s screen size & guts capacity.On to the guts – It is a AMD Ryzen 7 260 Processor with 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB gen 4 SSD & Wi-Fi 6E router. It works fast & smoothly and is able to run/process multiple tasks at the same time. The 32GB RAM is on the a great size & competitive for this level of machine & with the AI programming it works speedy & efficiently – I have run it with streaming an action movie, running video/photo editor software and uploading photos to our photo share app was well as having multiple internet tabs open all at the same time – It switched back & forth between tasks with no lag and kept running all processes with no glitch or stalling. I was happily impressed. The battery life is awesome – it ran 7hrs straight streaming movies & running graphic design programs before it dropped below 20% – great for my needs. It charges up quick too – jumps +50% in 1hr of charging. It comes with all the ports I need and then some – easy to hook up to my projector via HDMI or bluetooth – which runs super clean and clear. I love that all the USB ports are 3.2 fully functional ones – can both charge (offline too) & data stream and they all work fast & clean. The USB-C 3.2 port in the back it great for adding my display splitter hub- lets me run two full size screens & my TV off the computer – so great for working & viewing movies at the same time.I appreciated how easy it was to set up – just logged in with my MS user ID and it loaded up with all the info from my old computer. I love that it is easy to set up different users – great for my family – everyone can have their own set-ups and preferences when they log-in. It was a pretty quick process to set up too – It ran quickly on our WiFi and even the update was super fast. I appreciate that it does not come with a bunch of add on programming and apps and just crap that ends up being stuff you have to delete and reset off defaults. There are very minimal pop-up prompts which I personally appreciate – I know how to use a computer & really hate all the nanny-handholding pop-ups. The AI programming is helpful but not intrusive – has a clean interface and is easy to tone down or up to the level of interaction that you want.The best part about this new machine is that you get all the power and awesome screen in a much more portable unit vs. the 2023 model. It even came with a padded sleeve which was a huge fun bonus for me. It slid easily into the laptop pocket in my backpack and I love that it does not weigh me down. I’m going on vacation with a 7hr flight and I’m so happy to be able to take my computer with me without even thinking of the weight.If you are looking for a powerful but smaller, portable size 16″ laptop that is top of it’s class processor & programming-wise this is a great value for a great machine. It has been an incredible upgrade for me & I really love it.
