That’ll do pig. That’ll do.
Bought this AMD 5500 to power my first Linux build. Works great. Speedy, little CPU with plenty of bang for the buck. Paired with an old RX 6700 XT and 32Gb memory, it’s a tiny giant. The HSF was easy to install and there’s been no issue with stability on the latest Ubuntu release.

10/10
AMAZING value for money, great quality, decent budget core size, not noisy at all, easy to install, and amazing gaming potential and capability, great cooling potential for howich budget CPU coolers for it are under the am4 title.

price & installation & good performance
if you need a good cpu to increase performance but your on a tight budget, definitely get this cpu. its still a really good processor & it doesnât get enough credit for it!!! just be careful to not bend the pins at the bottom of it. the installation process was easy as 123!!! i definitely recommend getting this CPU if u donât want to break the bank & still have great performance! just pair it with a good gpu!

Great and affordable CPU
Bought this for my dadâs new budget PC since I do really like AMD process over intel. Itâs my old PC and itâs an upgrade from a Ryzen 7 1700x as itâs a tad finicky now.Itâs got plenty of processing power and the benchmark was very solid. The only issue was that I was putting it into a B350 chipset MoBo and while it stated that it was compatible, I forgot to update the bios and it would not post. This is more user error than anything.Eventually we got the bios to update after a few failed art attempts and now it works flawlessly.AM4 processors are always annoying to install, but Iâve done enough of them to know how to set the chip into the board with no issues. The thing runs games very well and the air cooler keeps it below 50°C on average when gaming. The fan is a tad noisy but itâs not too bad.Definitely a great budget CPU.

Great Price To Performance
Great for my budget build, overall performance is decent in modern AAA titles especially for the price. I got mine in sale for ~$60 USDHere are some benchmarks I’ve done.Baldurs gate 3 Ultra 1080p:~60fps some dips in high intensity areas and fights.Elden ring high 1080p: ~50-60fps can maintain 60 fps with some tweaks.Red dead redemption 1080p high:~45-60 fps with tweaks it can maintain 60 I’d suggest turning down shadows and volumetric clouds.Star citizen max 1080p:on Lorville 25-30fps.In space during ship combat 50-60fps around yelas astroids.Overall it is a good and reliable budget CPU and you can’t beat the price to performance, if you’re like me and don’t really play many super AAA games and mostly play RPGs, games like Project zomboid, Satisfactory, Dayz, CS2, and some other more lighter on the graphical side video games this processor would be great with a mid tier GPU.Be mindful too though and understand very graphically intensive AAA games will stutter with this CPU it’s not meant for these types of games it can run them but don’t expect ultra quality, and definitely nothing above 1080pThermals: under heavy load from stair citizen ~80-85C.Highest ive seen it peak was 92C but I’m still running the stock cooler and it was installing and compiling some heavy files and it only peaked for like a minute than remained in the 70-80C range. My build:Ryzen 5 5500GTX 1660tiGigabyte B550 gaming x v216GB DDR4 3200Mz T force RAM512GB Inland NVME SSD

Budget Friendly Gaming CPU
For several years, AMD has consistently put out solid products in the CPU space. Many would argue that their Ryzen series processors, de-throned Intel as the premier CPU manufacturer, and I would tend to agree in most circumstances. The value and performance from this CPU is fantastic. You can regularly find this processor for under $100, at the time of this review, it can be had for $80. You can’t hope to find value like this from Intel, at least not currently. Released in April 2022, the Ryzen 5 5500 is a great choice for someone who is looking for a budget friendly and performant processor, whether it be for gaming or casual computer use. It’s got 6 cores and 12 threads, which means that it’s more modern architecture makes it viable for longer. A TDP of 65w(watts), means that it’s a relatively easy processor to power, so you won’t need a high-powered rig to run it, and the inclusion of a cooler in the box, means you have everything you need to put it into your system and go. The Wraith coolers from AMD, are nothing to write home about, but it’s additional value for your money that you don’t find much nowadays. It’s on the AM4 socket, which AMD will be supporting for at least a few more years, although they no longer release new CPUs for this socket. It’s pretty clear that AM4 still has some solid staying power, so I would expect some decent longevity with it. All in all, I’d highly recommend this CPU. My fiancé got it for her first desktop, to do gaming and media consumption, and we’ve both been very happy with it.

Great value upgrade.
Upgraded Bios and then dropped into Biostar A320 MH Pro.Allowed board to run 8gb x2 dual channel ram at 3200mhz (not possible with 1300x.)Between Ram & CPU you can spend ~ $100.00 to upgrade an A320 board for many more years of use.Bought this for one office PC, Ryzen 5 5600 for another. Performance is 10% less with 5500.This is perfectly fast for Win11 Office PC’s and a much better value than 5600 if you’re not gaming.Hoping to add another 5-7 years to my 7 year old Biostar A320 MH Pro (which is considered one of the worst, but works perfectly for office PC)

Build a nice computer for less then a 1000$ ca that still kicks aside my old computer that I build 12 years ago at the price of 2500$Take note, the price mention above for the new computer is with AMAZON specials at the moment of purchase. (November 2024)Now, like I was saying for much less then a 1000$ using those componentsMotherboard ASUS Prime B550 plus.Power supply Thermaltake Smart BX1 750W Bronze SLI/Crossfire Ready.RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2 X 16) at 3200mhzCORSAIR 3000D Airflow Mid-Tower PC Case â 2X SP120 Elite Fans â Four-Slot GPU Support.Processor AMD Ryzen 5 5500 6-Core, 12-Thread Unlocked FAN included.May have to chip around 50$ for a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card if you donât have it already.Kingston 480 gb SSD.Graphic card GeForce GTX 1650 4gbLicence for Win 11 PRO, shop and find at different price, you only need a Digital license to make this machine work fine. Mine costed 125$ ca.This kit support without any problem Win 11 24H2 latest release almost a plug and play. (Installed it on the 22 Nov 2024 and never seen that before not one issue.)I’m not a hardcore gamer but I love my dead island, day light, etc… level of games and yes that system will support those and maybe more demanding games (Do your DD to find out, like I said I’m a mild gamer) no problem even projected on a 10 feet X 5 feet wall. So, my goal was to try at best not to invest my saving and have a nice machine that is functional for what I need, and not to flex (Look at me I got a machine that goes around Jupiter and back but it costed me 5000$) LOLYou could also overclock that system with a little bit of knowledge, and the bios readiness unlock the RAM which is set to nominal 2133 or so to full values (Mine are 3200 MHz) at a click away, Rams have a build in profile to facilitate its full profile. And do not forget that you have room for expending for a bigger graphic card, RAM and a bit more room for the processor then what I used.So this was my quest on AMAZON to get something more recent then the Asus P8Z77- deluxe (2012) which is still fine but does not support win 11 due to TPM and for the hardcore gamers Steam do not support any longer the win 7, 8, 8.1 and it is just a question of time before win 10 will no longer be supported by Steam.Yes, I forgot, I can install win 11 on the Asus P8Z77 deluxe (2012) with the removal of the TPM notification but at the long run it keeps bugging more often then I care for, so, for all my software that I have for editing video, creating music etc….. Win 7 on this Asus P8Z77 deluxe works fine, and I know that win 10 will support my old system, so I will experiment more on the subject. In conclusion I got something that kick for less then 1000$ ca and I build it my self from A to Z without any problem (Plug and play I would say) and will last some years without having to cash out money left and right.Keep searching there are nice specials on AMAZON.hope this help a bitDen.
