Customers find the uninterruptible power supply works well, particularly for networking equipment, and appreciate its tank-like build quality and intuitive software. The device is easy to set up and use, with one customer noting its slanted display as a nice touch. While some customers describe it as ultra quiet, others report a high-pitched chirping noise. The battery life receives mixed feedback, with some saying it provides uninterrupted power while others report failing batteries, and opinions on value are divided between those who find it worth the money and those who consider it overpriced.

Awesome UPS for ANY computer worth over 1 grand
If you all know Jonny Guru, I do my reviews like him.Construction: Very tough plastic and feels very excellent. Construction does not indicate a good UPS, so this will be weighted very lightly in my rating. 1/1Sounds: No hissing sounds. The sounds were from a bad batch in 2018, its 2020 now, so APC definitely cleaned up their act. Will beep when the power goes out. If the fans are spinning all the time they are completely inaudible. Did they collaborate with Noctua or BeQuiet? 4/4Performance: I unplugged the UPS from the wall to simulate a power outage and it kept the power to the computer on. It is ONLY meant to save your work and shut down. For my PC when im doing office tasks, it lasts between 45 and 60 minutes on just battery power. 10/10Weight/Battery capacity: This thing is built like a tank! Meaning it is VERY heavy, which is good in a way because that gives you a feeling that this is a quality product and it is definitely! And this is where things take a turn. APC uses Sealed Lead Acid batteries instead of lithium ion or lithium sulfur batteries which would last MUCH longer in terms of capacity and lifespan. Unless im missing something here, APC should have used a lithium or graphene type battery instead of Sealed Lead Acid batteries. Does it have something to do with lithium not liking to be 99% topped off all the time? I dont know. For now, I will rate this category 8/10.Features: 10/101. Software: WONDERFUL management software where you can change the UPS settings and monitor it! It is configured by default to let you know if and when the power goes out via a notification on Windows 10 at least. 3/32. USB: This computer has a USB 3.1 Gen 2 port on it for up to 15 watts of charging, and a USB Type A port WHICH IS NOT A SLOW USB PORT either! You know when you plug your phone into your computer via USB, it charges slowly? Not with the APC USB port! Its like plugging the phone into the wall! APC did not cheap out on USB which I like. 3/33. Display: The left button on the front changes the screen to live statistics of the UPS. It tells you the load in watts and percentages, the AC voltage, how many minutes on battery you could last, and even the Hertz. The screen goes out after a minute which is very useful when I’m sleeping. It is behind a closed door in my cubby in my computer desk. 2/24. AC plugs: There are a few AC plugs that will be battery backed up, and a few plugs that only provide surge protection. Useful for devices you do or do not want to be backed up by battery, but do not want an extra surge protector for. 2/2Competition: The less expensive competitor is Cyberpower which provides similar or better features. I skipped it because cyperpower had much more negative reviews within the past 2 years than APC did. Plus I watch the YouTuber Techdeals and he recommended APC. I will rate 10/10.Pros:Awesome build qualityNice featuresNo hissing soundsCons:Lead acid battery instead of a Lithium Sulfur or Lithium ION battery.Do I recommend this product? YES!Who should buy this UPS? ANYONE who has over $1,000 in computer equipment that is plugged into an existingsurge protector, or God help you, a power strip, that includes your keyboard, mouse, usb hubs, phones, computer, monitor, printer, laptop, headphones, speakers, etc.Overall rating: 43/45August 2022: Still works very well. It checks itself every now and then. No issues. This does not have a fan in it. Do not use this to charge your phone if the power goes out, it will smell horribly.

Reliable and Efficient Power Backup Solution!
I recently purchased the APC UPS 1000VA Sine Wave Battery Backup and Surge Protector, and it has exceeded my expectations in every way. This unit provides 1000VA / 600W of pure sine wave output, ensuring that all connected devices receive clean and stable power. The inclusion of Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) is a standout feature, as it instantly corrects voltage fluctuations without resorting to battery power, thereby extending the battery’s lifespan. The UPS comes equipped with 10 outlets, allowing me to connect multiple devices simultaneously. Additionally, the two USB charging ports (one Type-A and one Type-C) are incredibly convenient for keeping my mobile devices charged. The LCD display is user-friendly, providing real-time information on power status, load capacity, and battery runtime. The user-replaceable battery design is a thoughtful touch, ensuring longevity and ease of maintenance.Since integrating this UPS into my setup, I’ve experienced uninterrupted performance, even during power fluctuations. It’s a reliable and essential addition to any home or office environment. I highly recommend the APC UPS 1000VA Sine Wave Battery Backup and Surge Protector for anyone seeking dependable power protection.

Great UPS’s and truly amazing warranty service (if you happen to get the rare dud)
I own 4 APC UPS units, and they have all performed remarkably and reliably.Unfortunately, even the best brands have occasional duds, and one of them did have a bad battery that quit after 18 months. I just knew that heavy thing was going to be a pain to have to ship off for warranty service, and was dreading it. But nope…I chatted online with a rep, provided a copy of the invoice, and performed one simple test to insure the problem was the battery and not the UPS’s electronics. Took 15 minutes, the new battery was here in three days, no charge, and no requirement to ship anything (including the old battery) to them. They provided information about finding a local battery recycler and even have a service where you can (but don’t have to) ship it to them for no charge if you choose to.Will you need warranty service? Probably not. My other three have never had so much as the tiniest of glitches and do a wonderful job of protecting my equipment and evening out any power surges or drops The batteries give you more than enough run time to safely shut down your equipment in the event of a total outage. It’s not such a problem any more, but we used to have power that fairly regularly would blink or surge just enough to freak out my computer’s power supply and cause it to reboot. Not fun at ALL, but 8 years ago I bought my first APC SMC1500 and it completely resolved that issue. By the way, more than 8 years later that unit is still going strong and hasn’t even needed a replacement battery yet, though it’s often operating near max capacity. Unless they take a sudden left turn into mediocrity for whatever reason, I’ll certainly never buy any brand but APC ever again.

It’s surprising to find a sinewave UPS from APC that’s not from the Smart UPS line. For the first time, “sinewave” makes its way to the Back UPS lineup and is finally made affordable to the masses. Is it earth shattering news? No. Cyberpower has been offering cheap sinewave UPSes (CPxPFCLCD) for years. However, it’s certainly great news for consumers who will now not only have a viable alternative, but one that is backed by legendary reliability and support. Why sinewave? AC power coming out of your outlets look like sinewaves, a smooth periodic oscillation. Typically on any UPSes that are not on battery mode, the output from the UPS also look like sinewaves. It’s when the power cuts out and the UPS battery kicks in where things get interesting. On non-sine wave models, the power output would actually look like very rough boxy steps / step square waves. The fancy marketing term is a step approximated sinewave. On sinewave models, the power output when the UPS is on battery actually look identical to when they are coming out of your outlet: a pure sinewave. Traditionally, the argument is that sinewave UPSes are $$$$, and most modern electronics can handle step approximated sinewave and thus, the consumer can save some money and get the cheaper UPS. However, when a sinewave UPS is priced so close to a non-sinewave model, the point is moot. The packaging is the usual APC affair: exceptional. A well protected UPS, user manual, data cable, and coaxial cable is what you’ll find inside the box. Like all APC units, this unit comes with a Quality Assurance Test slip that tells you how awesome your new shiny UPS is and even tells you its manufactured date, so that you can plan for that inevitable battery replacement 3-5 years down the line. As usual, the unit arrives with its batteries disconnected to avoid unnecessary drain during storage/shipping. Fortunately, it also comes with a big yellow stick with easy to follow instructions to get the batteries connected in no time. Newbies rejoice!Having owned two Cyberpower CP1500PFCLCD Sinewave UPSes, the similarities are apparent (so similar, you’d think they were made in the same place):- They both have nearly identical dimensions- They have (extremely) similar LCD displays and interfaces- The number of outlets at the back are identical- Both are practically silent. That said, the APC has a few things that make it stand apart:- Build quality is a bit higher on the APC, and battery compartment access is easier.- APC has bigger vents at the top which may attribute to better cooling.- It has one more UPS battery backup outlet and one less surge only outlet (6/4 versus an even 5/5 on the Cyberpower) As the primary purpose of a UPS is to have battery backup power, having more battery backup outlets is better.- There is a modern USB-C port and a USB-A port capable of a combined 5V 3A output, while the Cyberpower only comes with 2x USB A ports for a combined output of 5V 1A. The APC should allow you to charge even the hungriest of mobile devices.- Gigabit Ethernet surge protected ports. (Whoa!)- 2x 12V 9Ah batteries!I want to emphasize on the last point and how it relates to runtimes. I was completely taken aback when I saw the inclusion of 2x CSB HR1234W 12V 9Ah batteries (great brand btw). These are practically the same as the ones included in my 1500VA Cyberpower CP1500PFCLCD UPS, also 2x 12V 9Ah. Obviously, runtimes cannot compare with heftier business grade UPSes such as APC Smart-UPSes that uses much bigger batteries (2x 12V 18Ah) in 1500VA models. However if I am to suspect, the runtimes of the 1350VA model will easily match the Cyberpower 1500VA model, which makes it an exceptional value. Furthermore, in comparison to its bigger brother the APC BR1500MS 1500VA model, I find the difference between that and this lower 1350VA model is the inclusion of better CSB UPS12580 batteries, which ironically are also 2x 12V 9Ah but with supposedly higher capacity (96w/cell versus 36w/cell). I’m not completely sure that different batteries justifies the higher price tag. Mind also that when time comes to replace the 12V 9Ah batteries, the 36w/cell variant is likely the easier one to source and thus voiding advantages of going with the nicer batteries in the BR1500MS.Not much negatives can be said about the unit. It is practically flawless as expected of APC. The only thing I can comment is that fact that this unit uses a proprietary USB data cable (USB to RJ45) versus the more usual âprinterâ USB A to USB B cable. It is definitely not as easily replaceable, so donât lose it!I settled on the 1350VA model because I was too cheap to get the 1500VA model for a measily extra 150VA. I was not disappointed. The fact that the supplied batteries equal that of a 1500VA model is astonishing. From a battery perspective alone, the runtimes on the BR1350MS should easily match that of a CP1500PFCLCD, regardless of what the literature says. Touches like high output USB charging ports, gigabit Ethernet surge protection, and an extra battery backup outlet really puts it best of the rest in its price bracket for 2018. 5/5

I bought this unit about a month or two ago. This unit stood out in it’s features: Pure sine wave conversion, ample outlets, decent runtime, etc. I personally bought it as the power where I live is kinda unreliable, and I wanted to increase the lifespan of my electronics. It arrived a few days sooner than expected to my delight. The UPS had been placed in a larger amazon box which allowed it to tumble around during shipping. Upon unboxing the larger amazon box, the UPS’s box was slightly beat up, but nothing super unusual.I plugged in the UPS, and it seemed to be defective as seen in the attached video. The UPS arrived with quality control test results attached, but it had passed those tests. Contacting APC by email for a RMA was futile. However, they have a 1 on 1 live chat, and I was able to be connected to a support agent within a minute. After an hour, I was told I would be given a RMA number and shipping label to ship the defective unit back in exchange for a fresh one. The shipping label arrived by email several days later, which sucked. They didn’t give a tracking number for the new unit, but I was able to request it by going to the live chat once again. After a solid month after first ordering from amazon, the new unit arrived. It seems to work well, though the battery on the unit seems worse. The old unit, while defective, reported 250 minutes with nothing plugged in. The new one only gave 125 minutes, but I wasn’t about to send it back again. Otherwise, the new unit works well. I also set up the included software, PowerChute. The software lacks some features and hasn’t really been updated. It works for my use of monitoring power draw. Do note that plugging a power bar that isn’t made by APC in the output of the unit WILL void the Equipment Protection Policy, aka the one that will give you up to $250k if your equipment is damaged by the unit.TL:DR; Customer service is great if you contact them via live chat, quality control on APC’s end seems fine, their included software kinda sucks, their email response time is pretty bad, and the unit is overall great.
