Externally, this notebook has an integrated 720p FaceTime HD webcam, a “new Magic Keyboard” with a “redesigned scissor mechanism… including 4 arrow keys in an inverted-T arrangement” as well as a customized “Touch Bar” with a separate esc key and a separate “Touch ID” sensor, and a gigantic “Force Touch” trackpad. Additionally, it has a high-resolution LED-backlit 16.0″ widescreen 3072×1920 (226 ppi, 500 nits) “Retina” display with True Tone technology and the option of setting the refresh rate, and a integrated battery that provides an Apple estimated 11 hours of runtime. Connectivity includes 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, four “Thunderbolt 3” ports (USB-C connector), and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.

Works like a Pro…Mac Pro
I purchased this as a studio laptop for recording and mixing. I have a Yamaha MOFX 8 and a MX49. I have been exclusively PC for the past 20+ years for studio, but thought I would give the MAC a go.First off, out of the box, it work, no issues. The packaging was the MacBook covered in a thin sleeve for transport, and placed in a generic box, no big deal, I don’t keep boxes or packaging. Initial set up for accounts, Apple, google, and MS was really simple. It took me a total of 10 min get set up.As for the studio software including the various midi programs and so on, it was super easy. Typically, setting up studio software and midi adaptors take about a solid 8 hours to get just right. However, the MacBook was very intuitive and after software was downloaded, the rest was just plug and play. Took a total of 1 hour for complete set up and into recording and mixing. This again was super easy and I will be leaving a separate review for this. I have one external monitor and 3 other USB devices hooked into the MacBook, all with no issues.The portability and ruggedness of the MacBook is the sole reason for me getting it, but the ease it provides me in set up is the reason I am keeping it. 5 Stars.

keeps shutting down. dont buy
so, buyer beware.I received this MBP and cosmetically it was in pretty much new condition. no scratches anywhere and the screen looked perfect.Thats where the good ended.it seemed glitchy on the first boot up. the screen would flicker and the apple logo would sort of repeat all over the screen. I also had the WORST time trying to use time machine to restore my backup form my old MBP.after 3 days of it failing, I finally got it running with my time machine backup, but then it would just shut down all the time for no reason. wasn’t overheating and fans were not kicking on, but would just turn off in the middle of using it.This happened multiple times every day.It came loaded with OS Catalina, and after it updated a catalina security update, it never booted up again.So now I am returning it for a full refund.DONT BUY!

Perfect Laptop 100% getting again
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I donât usually do reviews but I wanted to do one for this product because Iâm usually skeptical with refurbished products but this laptop is amazing. I do music, edit videos, and play sims and itâs still very good. I just have to keep it on the charger because it dies super fast and it does get hot but thatâs about it. I had only a tiny scratch on the bottom nothing noticeable and they did give me a faulty charger but I just ended up getting a new one. I will be getting another one to move my sims on as my creative projects grow and I download more mods lol.

Some advantages to an older machine, with a compelling price.
Machine is in promised condition from what I can tell, but came with a less powerful (though still compatible) charger than it calls for. Technically this doesn’t violate the terms, but it’s kind of a cop-out. I recommend ordering an additional charger in line with what the Apple model info specifies. Amazon has good ones at around the 20 dollar point.Intel CPU is beefy, but does not match M series chips for performance. It is more compatible for multi-booting OSs and developing for non Mac operating systems, and the graphics chip is technically MORE powerful than any top of the line new M series machine, though its use cases are limited for most users.If you want a solid machine to get into Mac usage without breaking 500 dollars and with some Swiss-Army knife capacity due to technically archaic hardware, this is a great option. It has the hardware to keep close in terms of performance to newer and more expensive machines. The ’19 16 inch also has higher build quality to somewhat bely its age. I’ve heard complaints about fan noise, but this is not a machine designed for anonymity.

I was very cautious about buying a refurbished MacBook but I must be honest, I’m not disappointed. It’s in exceptional condition with a few incredibly minor ‘dings’ on the edges but the screen is perfect. There was a bit of wear where the previous owners palm was resting but that was easily fixed with some covers. I’ve added a keyboard protector which goes with the pre-installed screen protector so she’s well covered.For the price, you cannot go wrong… if things go astray before the 90 day warranty period I will update the review accordingly.
