Andddd, this is perfect. The perfect home modem for those of us who donât yet have fiber and need to rely on coax cable.Compared to my previous high-end modems, this one is smaller, quieter, and faster. I consistently max out my ISPs advertised speed (approx 1.1Gbps down and 20Mbps up).It hasnât gone down a single time and has been rock solid for me. Highly recommend.

Overheats -Do Not Buy!
I was a fan of Arris until this product. The SB200 is a workhorse and I had it for 3+ years without any issues. I upgraded my internet connection to 2Gbps so I needed a new modem and went with the S34. I regret this decision because this thing overheats after a couple hours, and it shuts off taking down my internet connection with it. As someone who WFH this is unacceptable! So after only 2 days of use, I’m returning it and going to try the Netgear CM3000. Don’t waste your time with the S34. It is poorly designed and it will overheat quickly!

The Perfect Solution for Reliable Internet
Running the S34 for a month now, and it has been flawless. After a terrible experience with a different brand, I was hesitant to switch from my Xfinity rental modem. However, a friend suggested trying a Surfboard, and I am so glad I did. No more disconnects or constant reboots like before. Highly recommend making the switch to a Surfboard for reliable internet without any hassle.

The unit had good speed but ran too hot (134-140 degrees Fahrenheit)
The Surfboard S34 was easy to set up and performed well. The big issue for me was it was running between 134-140 degrees Fahrenheit which seems very hot. It was very hot to the touch so I used my infrared camera which can detect and display the temperatures of heat sources. I posted a photo. I had to place a fan next to the unit to get the temperature down until I could replace the unit a couple of days after purchase. Arris Support told me to return the unit. I’m sure this was just a bad unit. One of my staff members has an Arris modem for years without the overheating issue.

Awesome Modem
I have Xfinity’s 1200 Mbps plan. After activating this router I ran a speed test. The speed test’s results showed a speed of over 1500 Mbps! I have no complaints.
