I should have purchased a better known brand
This item was a complete “DUD” straight out of the box. Regardless of what I did, my PC wouldn’t recognize the HD. I’ve rebooted my PC with the HD connected & made sure that the power switch on the HD was in the “ON” position at all times and nothing. I do not have the time right now to go through the exchange process. There fore it is going back for a 100% refund. Next time, I will buy either a Seagate or Western Digital (WD) Two brands that are well known throughout the Tech World.

Randomly Disconnects from PS5
I’m not sure why but my unit will randomly disconnect from my PS5 for just an instant. This causes the PS5 to throw up a nasty warning about having to check drive. When it does this and I’m playing a game it takes about 30 seconds for it to complete. While it’s checking I cannot do anything. So if it does this during a critical moment during my game I’ll probably end up dead. I find this very frustrating.Note, that on the PS5 this can only be used as a backup for game installs! You cannot play games directly from it. You must reinstall the game on the PS5 internal hard drive in order to play. That is NOT what I wanted

Two of These Failed For Me
First drive was totally bricked when it arrived. Would not initialize at all. Swapped out the USB cable and power cord to rule those out and it was just the drive. Went ahead and returned that and Amazon got me a replacement the next day. Identical model. This time the drive initialized and was recognized by my PC. I transferred about 2 TB of files to it. The following day, it was making a loud, repetitive whirring sound and no longer recognized by my desktop. I could not get it to initialize in the disk manager (kept giving me a cyclic redundancy check error) so I used data recovery tools but all files were corrupted and nothing could be recovered. Lesson learned. Stick with Seagate or WD because these no-name brand drives are unreliable.

Stopped working after 24 hours
I turned it on only once, transferred 1 TB of my work information and went to sleep, the next day the drive no longer turned on and I lost my information.I contacted technical support and they did not give me a return or refund.The worst product I have ever bought and the worst support I have ever had.
