Great for road trips!!!
My 8 and 12 year olds had the best time trying to find license plates for each state! We drove eleven hours down I-95 and were able to find 38 different states, including DC. They were so excited when we saw one from Alaska. :o) It really made time fly by for all of us. Itâs impossible to place the license plate magnets on their corresponding states on the map, so we got creative with putting plates that we found in a baggie and eventually were able to separate âfoundâ plates on one side of the tin and the remaining on the other. I donât recommend separating them like this from the get-go because the magnets sometimes fall when you close and reopen the tin and it can get confusing. But to each their own! All in all, this was a great find and I would have happily paid more for it. It was also nice to take a break from the alphabet game.

Huge hit!
Got this for an 8hr road trip and it was perfect. Kids had a blast looking for all the states and kept them busy for long hours. You can close it up while not using so you donât lose any pieces. I just wish it came with a bag to hold the magnets in until you see the plate but used a ziplock so we made it work.

Itâs a great idea but the magnets are a little big and donât stay on well. We made it work and it was definitely a fun game to play on a 14 hour car ride

Best license plate set out there!
We love looking for license plates and I swear Iâve bought all the different books and games on the subject and this one is the best!Pros: It opens like a book so itâs easy to use but when weâre done in the car, we can close it and slide it in the seat pocket in front of us.The magnets are awesome because all the pieces stay inside.The license plates are true to their state so theyâre easy to identify.Cons: my only complaint is that I wish there was more space on the outside of the map to put the plates that youâre still searching for. (We place the plate in Texas when we find Texas, etc). So we actually put a little ziploc inside the book for those plates so theyâre not covering up the states while weâre still searching.This is the perfect game for kids and the family and it also makes a great birthday gift. Highly recommend this one if youâre looking for license plates!

Fun but frustrating.
Like – adds fun to car travel and price (unless you find the similar item at Aldi when available). Dislikes – magnets not strong enough and slide requiring repositioning. License plates too big for boxes so need to be placed only partially covering provided spaces. Frustrating for perfectionists who want it to look nice.

Nostalgia
We played the license plate game as children, although we never had any way to keep track without writing them down. My siblings and I took a trip to go visit our mother and it was fun to play the game again like we did 50 years ago! The only complaint I have is that the map of the United States is not big enough to fit all the license plates on as you are finding them. The container either needs to be bigger or the license plates need to be smaller. However, that would not stop me from buying this. I would buy it again any day! The magnetic part of it is great for keeping the found states in order. We were able to close the box and open it again when we got back in the car and the license plates were still where we left them. So fun!!
