Customers say
Customers find the coffee maker makes good-tasting coffee and appreciate its design. The functionality and ease of use receive mixed feedback – while some find it relatively easy to use and program, others report it stops working after the first day and find it confusing to set up. Moreover, the durability is concerning as units break within three months, and there are issues with water leakage, particularly with the lid leaking out the sides. Additionally, customers disagree on the temperature retention, with some saying it keeps coffee very hot while others note it doesn’t stay hot for long. The brew speed is also mixed, with some finding it relatively faster than other machines while others say it’s not the fastest.

Very Pleasantly surprised!
This review will be in 2 parts. Order and delivery, because I was pleasantly surprised by the fast turnaround from ordering and, now, receiving after just two days. This was ordered late July 1st, and this is July 3rd. Therefore, thank you very much Amazon. Let’s get down to business…………….If anyone has had “cowboy” coffee, you know it’s good and strong. But I don’t live on the open plain and eat from a chuck wagon. The problem is there is way too much coffee waste for one person trying to figure out the right measure of coffee to water. Most times, it’s the coffee that suffers. And for you non-cowboys out there, do not put the coffee grinds down the sink drain, not unless you want a big mess and an angry wife! So, here’s the other kicker. I did some online investigation, which brought me to Good Housekeeping reviews, and this Braun was second overall in all the categories for performance, coffee taste, brewing, ease of operation, and much more. Now you know why I bought this machine.I’ve said this over and over again, sometimes you have to ignore the customer reviews and pay attention to the pros! And the price is a definite value.Well, that’s the first half of this review. Next, unbox, read the instructions (I’m a huge fan of this), for tips and tricks and to stay away from, “Oh no!” Or “Oh s***!Trust me, I am tired of wasting my coffee. I enjoy cowboy cooking but this urban man needs to control expenses, but not at the expense of taste. This review will continue…………………see ya next time soon. Coffee, homemade bread, hot pepper jelly, and the 4th!This is the final stage……..that first mug of coffee.Following the directions for a regular mug of coffee and waiting for the tone, the coffee was hot. I added my creamer, and oh, what a great-tasting coffee. There are many coffee maker brands from inexpensive to high-end, but paying $70 for a Braun, which was recommended by Good Housekeeping review, is a winner. Kitchen appliances are an investment; why not make a good one? Now, back to my great-tasting coffee.July 22, 2025……….I have a post script to this review………………..Regardless of what brand of coffee you use, all coffee has an oil that will leave a residue on the the craffe, the gold basket, even the plastic on or near the coffee when brewing. It is important to wash those that come in direct contact with the grounds with a dish detergent, and to wipe down those that are in indirect contact to keep the scale and “oil steam” clean. This ensures a great cup of coffee every time. And keeps your machine operating properly!

Takes a little bit longer to brew, but so well worth it!
I did a lot of research prior to purchasing. I wanted to replace our older Cuisinart coffee maker, which was basically functional and broody decent cup of coffee. But I had read some reviews, particularly from. I believe it was wine and spectator believe or not, and this came in second place overall. It’s not expensive, but they said the quality and overall that consistently great cup of coffee at brews made it a standout. So I decided to give it a try, and there’s really pleasantly surprised at how great a cup of coffee it makes.I didn’t think it was possible for one model to make a difference in the flavor of the coffee, but this one really shocked me.When they talk about tasting notes, chocolate and nuts, I never really got that. But with this one I do without a doubt. And I honest believe I’m not convincing myself, it just makes a cup of coffee that you go, Wow!Do yourself a favor and get an alkaline water pitcher, which is also very cost effective. The water does make a difference.

Hot Plate Thermostat Keeps Clicking
I will be writing multiple reviews for this product , if permitted. All the basic functions work fine. The resulting coffee tastes great. However, the unit has big design flaws. The first issue is the constant loud clicking. Once the hot plate is on, the thermostat tends to turn it on and off which results in constant noise. I understand the concern for conserving energy but the clicking is loud and frequent. It could have been designed better. It turns out I am not allow multiple videos. The second video I was going to post was the water issue: the auto-stop mechanism rests on the pot and is so poorly design that hot water starts running down it, down the pot, and onto the hot plate. This creates a constant sizzling and causes permanent damage to the plate. You wipe it off mid-brew, put the pot back, and minutes later more water runs down. I have examined everything. Nothing is misaligned, nothing is clogged. It i just a very bad design.Do not buy this unit. Iâm very disappointed as I used to be a fan of Braun.

Beware the manual!
This brews great coffee…HOWEVER the manual is complete garbage (See pics). If it hadn’t been for YouTube videos I’d still be fighting with set up on the TouchPad. There are no better detailed instructions than those shown, just more of the same cryptic “directions” which are basically useless. Yes, I’d buy it again…but you’ve been warned.ð

Bigger than expected
It’s much bigger than expected, could definitely be a little hotter, but works perfectly fine. Just be prepared to get annoyed by the cleaning light that comes out way too often

I like the 14-Cup capacity. The #4 cone filter works well in this unit. The carafe pours very well and is ergonomic. The carafe glass is thin making it fragile. The hot element coated with thin Teflon enamel shows wear within weeks if use. I like the water indicator so you can make the amount of coffee cups you wish to brew. I found it easy enough to program and the clock LED is well lit when itâs brewing and visible on stand-by mode. Iâm happy with it after looking at many coffeemaker options. Best feature is how it timely infuses the coffee before it starts the brewing process. Makes excellent bold good tasting coffee. Overall the quantity of 14 cups is its selling feature. The bold brew option makes great coffee as I mentioned. You can hear the coffee maker brewing and gurgling when itâs brewing. The three audible beeps to announce the coffee is ready is faint to the ear. The clean and descaling mode when flashing orange takes approximately 20 minutes with descaling solution. I purchased a gallon of descaling solution from home hardware making it more cost efficient. Using the coffee maker daily the clean me light turns on every 4 months for the descaling process. Big D

Es una buena cafetera ,pero se me hace que si hace un poco de desastre si no se limpia al instante después de usar porque que salpica ,hace las misma function que una cafetera de menor precio y el filtration de agua es difÃcil de limpiar si se ensucia .

I have owned many automatic drip coffee makers over the years, and they all seemed to have some draw backs. My first coffee maker (many decades ago) was a Braun – remember the white one with only one button, the On/Off switch? Since then Iâve had mainly Cuisinart or similar brands. I found them difficult to fill, with timers/clocks that were almost impossible to read. So when I went looking for a new coffee maker I thought I would go back to Braun. And I am so glad I did. This unit looks great, is easy to fill, has a clock that is lighted and easily visible, and it makes great coffee! The pot is perfect too – hinged lid, and pours beautifully. No splashing or dribbling like most glass coffee pots Iâve used. While the settings are a little tricky at first, once the temperature and time are set, itâs easy from there. Power button, brew level (Fast, Regular or Strong) and youâre all set.I would definitely buy another one of these, and Iâm looking forward to many years of great morning coffee with this one.

UPDATE: After only 8 months of use I forced to retire this machine and will be buying something else. Definitely not a Braun. Buttons on front only work when you hold your tongue the right way. Very disappointed with this purchase. Goodbye Braun. I’m looking forward to tiring this to my trailer hitch ball and dragging not down the road until it disintegrates.Very disappointed with this Braun coffee maker and that is coming from a long time Braun customer. I purchased this for my elderly parents after watching them struggle with cheaper alternatives. Turns out the cheaper alternatives are better machines. Biggest problem with this thing is it drips water from the rear of filter well opening and that water runs down the pot and onto the burner plate and under the pot. Makes a mess every time. Amazon is no help as they won’t let me return it. Dealing with Braun has proved only to be frustrating and fruitless. Sorry Braun, you lost a customer over this. Not happy at all. Do not buy this coffee maker.

The machine has many useful features. Such as the auto function. The reusable filter is easy to clean and works as it should. The only issue is the steam that itâs producing and that burns the heating plate. The steam cannot escape and leaves the machine damp and sizzles on the heating plate.
