Amazingly simple concept that works great
This is a great way to videoconference. Putting the camera right in the middle of your screen really helps you to connect with the camera and your audience

Keeps your eyes in the right place!
Works well to keep your eyes where they should be, and gives you a more professional look. However, the picture quality seems to be a little washed out. I’ve tried every way I know to adjust it, but I just can’t get it right. I have overhead halogen lighting, so that might be the reason.

Most Professional Camera
I really love this camera. I am in online meetings every week and the whole center cam experience which has you looking right into the eye of every one I am talking to is a game changer. My presentation is leveled up and I have yet to see anyone who comes across more professional than I do which is what is most important to me.

Works well, great eye contact option
As someone that regularly finds myself in video meetings, I was excited to try a camera that would facilitate “eye contact”. This camera worked straight a way when plugged into my mac and had surprisingly good quality. Setting up the proper height was a breeze.

Improves eye contact when you can’t be in person
I love this product! Set up took a few seconds. Clarity is great! It’s very easy to adjust. I especially appreciate that this allows me to improve direct eye contact and connect more fully with others face to face when I can’t be with them in person.

Great idea, lackluster specs
I love the idea of this Center Cam. I’ve never liked how cameras are always looking down from above you, which tends to make you look awkward. Sometimes I put my camera at the bottom of the screen, which makes me look hopeful, but still too awkward. Center is clearly where the camera should be.This camera does do the center thing very, very well. It’s even long enough to reach the center of my 48″ TV that I use as a monitor, and it could do larger too. The metal neck of it is nicely rigid such that it doesn’t move around on its own but it’s also flexible so you can move it if you want to. It attaches to the top of the monitor with a clip, and the clip is very well designed so that it doesn’t squeeze the monitor and doesn’t really have to make significant contact with the front glass of the monitor, even when there’s almost no bezel around the screen. The actual camera is tiny so that even when it’s right in front of you it’s easy to ignore it and pay attention to the people on your screen. So it gives you the benefit of looking straight forward on the video without really obstructing your view. The downside, however, is that the camera is rather expensive for its unimpressive specs. For half the price you can get a 4K webcam with double noise-cancelling microphones and intelligent auto-focus. It makes little sense that for about $114 the Center Cam only provides 1080p resolution at a mere 30 frames per second, a mono mic, and a fixed-focus lens. Some details on the web seem to say that the small form factor limited the designers’ ability to load better components onto the unit. The designers even recommend using an external microphone instead of the one built-in to the camera. Moreover, since the camera is designed for video conferencing, they likely limited the resolution because Zoom and other apps typically only use 720p (and 1080p can usually be enabled in the settings). In terms of picture quality, the camera isn’t bad, but isn’t impressive either. I’d say that the picture is on par with my 1080p Logitech camera. The fixed focus isn’t a big problem, since it’s calibrated to accommodate the typical usage scenario of video conferencing.Center Cam was apparently crowd-funded by Indiegogo and managed to raise over $2.3 million for its first iteration. They also launched a campaign for this second version, V2, but it only raised a relatively meager $133,531. It doesn’t seem like this caused the low specs, however, since it appears that the modest specs were planned from the beginning. I definitely hope they continue to innovate, and I think either they need to offer higher specs or else transition to producing an add-on that would allow users to purchase a different webcam and modify it to sit in the center of the screen.

Stopped Working after 1 Use
Stopped working after 1 use. For one day it worked on both my Mac and PC. Then the following day it stopped. I followed all troubleshooting instructions on the website and nothing. It looks like the issue is with the wiring and USB and lightning cable. Very upset at this. Will be returning.

Makes Video Calls Feel More PersonalâNeeds Some Manual Image Tweaking
Iâve been looking for a webcam solution that offers better eye contact while working from my dual 27â³ displaysâand the Center Cam V2 fits the bill perfectly. It mounts right between my screens at eye level, covering part of my monitor bezel without covering any pixels. The result? Iâm looking directly at my conversation partners, not off to one side. What I Like:⢠Eye-level placement: Tiny (about the size of a dime), flexible tube clips to the screen and positions the lens right in the centerâfeels much more natural during calls.⢠Compatibility & setup: Works with Mac, Windows, and major video apps; the macOS app allows manual tweaks and saving presets. I’ve used it with FaceTime, Zoom, and Google Meet successfully.⢠Compact & unobtrusive: Once placed, itâs barely noticeable and doesnât block any screen space.Areas to Improve:⢠Video quality: Default settings were too yellow; Iâm still tweaking brightness and color to match my Anker C302. While it doesnât quite match top-tier webcams, the trade-off in eye contact is worth it for me.⢠Audio quality: The built-in mono mic is basicâothers have noted itâs not the best, so I stick with my headset mic.⢠Mounting setup: The flexible tube and clip are solid but require manual adjustment per call. Also, it needs to be moved if you want a full, unobstructed screen view.My Experience:⢠On my Mac, the Center Cam App (available in Apple’s App Store for free) I still find the best results when manually balancing warmth and brightness.⢠The improved eye contact really shows in video calls; colleagues have remarked how much more âpresentâ I seem.⢠Tests against my MacBookâs built-in camera and my Anker 2K webcam show Center Cam is slightly softer but more engaging thanks to its placement.⸻Final Verdict:If you want warmer, more natural eye contact during callsâand donât mind dialing in settings and adjusting placementâthis is one of the best âcenter-screenâ webcams available. Video quality isnât flagship-grade, and the mic is modest, but for serious remote work and genuine connection, itâs a standout pick.
