Moreover, the device effectively converts 8mm and VHS tapes, with one customer noting it creates great videos with sound at maximum screen size. However, the audio quality receives mixed feedback, with several customers reporting that the audio is useless and impossible to capture stereo audio. Saved my old home videos!!
I have a bunch of old family videos we recorded over the years. I have vhs tapes, mini-dvi and 8mm. Trying to get all of these copied and saved to my local storage system was something I wanted to do for awhile and after contacting several different outfits that provide this as a service I decided I would save on the high cost of paying someone else and do it myself.I was a bit concerned about how well this would work because I noticed a few negative reviews that talked about it working for a little while and then no longer working again. Thankfully I did not have any issues at all.Connecting this device up is extremely easy. You connect the USB adapter to your PC (either USB-C or use the included adapter to convert it to USB-B) It has 5 inputs, 1 HDMI in, AV in and S Video in. One of my camera’s was just AV in and my other was both s video and avi. In both cases the video and sound transferred with no issues. To handle the conversion you will need to download an awesome piece of software called OBS Studio. This is free/open source software and it works very well. I had to adjust the settings to get the audio correct. You can contact OBS Studio support or ClearClick support in the event you run into questions or an issue. Both are very helpful and respond rather quickly.I was able to convert 8- 8mm tapes and 12- mini dvi tapes over to digital. One thing I wish I had done back in the day was purchase cleaning tapes because after sitting for so long my camera’s all needed some good cleaning. My next challenge will be converting all of our VHS tapes to digital. This adapter will handle that as well!Great product for the home user that needs to convert their old home videos!

This ClearClick Video USB-C Converter is a fantastic tool for digitizing old media. Super easy to useâbasically plug and play, and it works seamlessly with various input sources.Thereâs a slight learning curve just because there are so many options, but thatâs actually a huge plus! Once you get the hang of it, the flexibility is amazing. Whether youâre working with VHS, camcorders, or other analog sources, this device handles it all smoothly.Great design, solid performance, and a must-have for anyone looking to convert old media with ease!

Good Customer Support. Adequate performance.
This didn’t seem to work at first. I had video, but no audio. It turned out there are a bunch of System Preferences to set on MacOS 15.2 that were initially set wrong. After fiddling around in bull-headed mode, I emailed tech support. After a few back-and-forths and emailing them sample files, they traced the issue and told me what to change in Settings. Voila! Sound and video. This product comes with a license to download OBS, the Open source Broadcast Studio software. OBS is pretty powerful stuff. You only need a small portion of its capabilities to work with this device, but it does the job with good flexibility. If at first you don’t get what you need, work with the settings to refine the results.

Easy to Use Video Converter
Great product. Easy to setup and easy to use. Purchased it to convert about 20 old VHS tapes into digital format. I have a Macbook Air running OS15. Had zero problems getting the Mac to recognize the converter device, installing the software that I downloaded from on line, and setting it up. I was up and running in about 10 minutes. The only thing that I played with was the video settings resolution. Tried different ratio settings and finally settled on 1920×1080. Even though the original VHS tapes were recorded to a 4:3 aspect ratio I found that recording to a 16:9 ratio provided the best quality video with minimal distortion due to the ratio difference.

Disgusted with audio doesnât work at all.
Video works just fine but I cannot get the audio to transfer over at all. The manual even says something like âdonât worry, you wonât hear the audio at all when it transfers, but it will be there when you play back the recording.Total lie.Iâm totally disgusted with this product. It should be so easy to transfer a video. What a waste of my time and money I wasted all day with this broken garbage.

Mostly works great but…
Setup document included was clear and concise (so long as I paid attention, LOL). Got everything working great except audio. There was a buzzing noise in all the audio. At first I assumed it had something to do with my Lenovo laptop but I did some troubleshooting on that and proved to myself that wasn’t it. So, I focused on the ClearClick itself.I am connecting to a Sony Camcorder using the S-Video out for video and the analog AV out for audio. Turns out if I only connect the red (right) analog cable there is no buzzing. If I connect the yellow (left) the buzzing starts. Also note that I get no video if I disconnect the S-Video cable and just go analog only (connect the yellow). To me, it seems as if there must be some kind of problem inside the ClearClick device regarding the analog connections but I don’t know enough to say. I expected to be able to use either the S-Video or the analog out for video but so far no luck. And, I expected to be able to use stereo audio instead of just one channel.I have not yet contacted ClearClick tech support. I will update this review after that.

I bought this specifically to digitize a bunch of old VHS tapes. I had also just built a fast Intel Win11 PC and thought I’d try out this device on what was my newest, fastest computer. But no matter what I did, (reinstalls, etc.) the OBS software didn’t want to play nice. So I went over to my 2012 Mac running Monterey on Open Core and it worked like a charm. I transferred at least 80 tapes and the quality was quite good given that the original tapes weren’t all that great much of the time. Lots of settings to choose from, so it’s quite flexible. Mission accomplished.I’m a happy customer. Thanks. 🙂

Los videos quedan bien grabados, tiene buen balance en negros y blancos, anteriormente tenia un capturador sencillo tipo memoria usb que generaba los videos oscuros y de baja resolución, sin embargo este producto lo hace muy bien, si es recomendable
