Not quite ready for primetime
I really wanted to like this, I mean for the price, you’d expect a pretty seamless experience. The hardware itself seems solid and well built. The problem is the software, which is just a complete mess and feels unfinished. I spent hours just trying to get a simple scan going, and the whole process was so clunky and unintuitive. It was a really disapointing experience from the get go.Connecting it to a phone is also a huge hassle. The amount of permissions the phone app wants are a bit much, and it just feels invasive. For a device that costs almost 2000 dollars, you expect the software to just work without having to jump through a million hoops. I have a pretty powerful computer that meets the recommended specs, so I know that wasn’t the issue. It’s just not polished enough to justify the premium price tag. I’ll be waiting for a few more updates before I’d ever consider this again.

Meh. Not that great
First a caveat, I’m not super experienced with 3D scanners. I jumped into the area getting this purportedly high-end scanner. Unfortunately, it did not really live up to the messaging. Scanning even simple/small objects took a lot longer than shown in the videos. I can’t imagine doing some of the larger things (e.g., cars) that people claim. You need an excessive number of dots to keep it tracking and despite the claim that it works well on black/shiny surfaces, I beg to differ. I tried to scan a gloss black and matte gray metal structure with a zillion dodecahedron targets. All the gray areas were easy but the black never really came out. I did not use any scanning powder as they claim was it was not needed.I fully expect some of this was my newbie-ness but I’m reasonably capable and didn’t really get satisfactory results after many hours of trying different things.From a usability point of view, it was ok when connected to a computer by the reality of using a handle mounted phone was disappointing. The way the phone mounts and the steps you need to follow on the phone to connect etc make it very cumbersome to actually setup and use.In the end I returned the unit and will wait for the next generation.

Excellent product
Came packaged well. The items are nice and organized in the carry case. The scan quality is excellent. This thing is built very well. I wasn’t impressed with the turntable that was included it wobbles too much and does not spin on center so it throws off the scans, but that one bad item wasn’t enough to change my opinion or my review it’s an excellent product all in all. I ordered a separate turntable from Amazon that was a better quality and motorized.
