    Very Happy.
I used the Black & Decker Brew and Go for years, the first one lasted 8 years, the second 5, the third 3, and so on until it was discontinued. It made a great cup of coffee. I tried the Hamilton Beach Single, but I couldn’t get the coffee strong enough, and then the Capresso Single Serve, which is a really well-made machine, but I don’t like a basket filter, it tastes a little bitter to me, I much prefer a cone shape, but I haven’t been able to find a single serve that had a cone filter like the B&D had.So, I decided to try a small coffee pot, researched a few, and started with the Krups, which I liked very much for its small footprint, cone filter, ease of operation, and it made a very smooth cup of coffee. However, it was not hot enough. So, I tried this one and was pleased to find the coffee is much hotter and this also has auto shut off (Krups does not). I did a temperature test while the coffee was in the pot and the Krups read 166 degrees, the Capresso Single Serve was 179, and this was right around 180. The water tank is a bit fidgety, but I just pour water into it versus removing it every time and I like that I can clean it so much easier than other machines. I didn’t bother with the filter since I use filtered water, but I read it can help with how often you need to decalcify, so I may give it a shot, and I also purchased a Delibru gold tone permanent filter, because I would rather my coffee was not filtered through plastic. I didn’t notice any plastic taste, but I did run 3 pots of water through it before I made the first pot. I found the coffee very smooth and was able to make it as strong as I like. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase.

    Amazing!
I finally found a fantastic coffee maker. It is tiny but mighty. I like the coffee pot being stainless as it will not break. It is NOT a thermal carafe, though, which is fine as I make a 16 oz cup that I put in a Contigo, which keeps it crazy warm. I appreciate the grounds holder because it has a handle so your fingers do not get dirty. The lid for the grounds also fits perfectly under the cabinet. The ease of a removable water reservoir is fabulous. I also dig that it has a matt finish, which keeps it looking clean and has zero fingerprints. Bravo!!!

    Decent Little Coffee Pot
I like the fact that the pot isn’t breakable – that was one of the two primary things I was looking for. As others have mentioned, the plastic lid is a bit of a challenge to get off, and the plastic cover on top (where the coffee grinds go) is made of less sturdy material that the price suggests it should be. However, it gets the job done, and it is a nicely compact unit. However, the capacity is NOT 1200 ml, 5 cups, or 40 ounces, as listed – the “cups” are 6 ounces each, so the full capacity is only 30 ounces. As I bought this specifically to fill 32 ounce containers, I find this rather annoying, especially since the capacity is listed as 1200 ml, but I want a small compact unit and this one works well on the whole. Overall, recommend, but be aware that it’s a 30 ounce/887ml capacity, not actually 5 cups.

    New Design Works Well
This 5 cup coffee maker has innovative design features that are improvements from its 4 cup predecessor. There’s a removable water tank with an internal replaceable filter. There’s a bigger shower head so the water falls over all the coffee grounds. The filter cover fits in the housing, and the carafe lid fits better; both creating a seal to keep the steam contained thus preventing the steam from condensing on the outside and making a wet mess. That was the case with the previous model, and this water would collect at the heating plate causing it to corrode. The carafe is still stainless steel, which is way safer and longer lived than glass. The power button starts by blinking a blue LED while it brews, then switches to steady blue when only the heat plate is operating. It turns off automatically after about 20 minutes for safety. This is called a 5 cup machine yet a standard cup is 6 ounces. It brews 24 ounces, which amounts to 3 8oz. mugs. This machine brews this amount in about 5 minutes. I suggest using quality #2 cone filters and forego the screen filter provided. Note that the filter lid must be completely closed; in order to engage the connection of the drip valve when the carafe is in place. Otherwise the coffee cannot release into the carafe and will overflow from the filter housing. The look of the coffee maker is modern, with the water silo feeding across to the filter housing.I used the previous maker in my office, used it in a kit box when staying at hotels and I’ve used it camping and it worked great. I’m replacing the previous unit with this new unit after nearly ten years of reliable daily service.I highly recommend this coffee maker by Cuisinart

  7. The House Uruk

I’ve mostly ever used Keurig coffee makers, but I find they are not worth what I pay for them. I switched to a simple Mr. Coffee unit and it tasted horrible, no matter how often I rinsed it, ran vinegar through it, multiple cups of coffee.. there was always just a plastic-y strange taste. Found this little Cuisinart guy and I love it. It’s just simple, easy to clean, easy to prepare. A bit pricey, but I expect great things from this brand. My first cup this morning was delicious and I hope it lasts. The pot isn’t thermal but I love the steel because it will get banged around in the sink while doing dishes, I’m sure. I’ve never had issues with this brand so far! (I do want to add that the water filter insert seems completely pointless as there is a gap between the filter and where the water goes into the machine, so unfiltered water would go in?)

I like that it is easy to use. Great for one or two people. The metal carafe is attractive and break proof. Theplastic filter works well with medium or coarse grind. The only drawback is that the coffee does not stay hot enough.
