    Multi gig switching at home
Does what it’s meant to do. No fuss multi gig switching at home allows me to make full use of my 2.5G connection. No issues.

    Fast and compact.
It is a little pricey, but it is well built and does not compromise your network performance. I use it to share two 2.5 Gbps ports on my NAS with other equipment and it delivers. Keep in mind, this is unmanaged switch, so adjust your ethernet settings accordingly.

    Excellent switch!
Works extremely well-plug and play. Seems to work better than the trendnet version I also bought.

    The little switch that could
Nice little 2.5GB switch that does the job for a reasonable price.

    Great Little Switches
Bought 3 to upgrade my network for Fiber 2 gig connection. All work as intended and the lights were great for finding one bad cable not running at the intended 2.5 gigs. Replaced the cable and the switch lit up blue. Perfect. My only complaint would be the price. I remember my old gigbit switches being a lot cheaper than these even when gigbit first came out as the norm. I’m just glad I didn’t decide to do 10 gig throughout my house; I’d be broke before I was finished.

    For Audio
I decided to get this switch to (theoretically) maximize the integrity of the electrical signals carrying packets of information to my streamer (WiiM Pro). My intention was to create some distance from the router before splitting off the signal. I also have the ifi LAN iSilencer isolating the input and switched the power supply to a 12v ifi iPower2 😅 I changed a lot at once, and I wasn’t in a position to blind test any of those individual components, but (and I’ll openly chalk the experience up to psychoacoustics), I do feel I heard a bit more clarity in some pretty “thick” mixes e.g. The “Mandy” and “It Follows” scores. Put another way, perhaps the circumstances allowed me to perceive more of the “live feed” from my senses (versus something consolidated over time like a smell), but I’m confident I’m not doing any harm to the system. The whole idea stemmed from learning that the clock in my WiiM is a reflection of its affordability. I also have a Denafrips Ares 12-1 (which has a buffer and re-clocking, so I was probably fine), but I figured if I can’t improve the WiiM, I can make its job (and anything downstream) easier 🤷‍♂️. My Roku Ultra is also catching signal from the D-Link. I see no differences there, but again, no perceived foul. The switch itself seems sturdy and worked right out of the box. I also appreciate the grounding post. It has a small footprint and the lights aren’t distracting. It might not be doing what I intended it to do, but I have every confidence it is doing what it’s *designed* to do very well.

    2.5gb plug and play
Instantly connected my 2.5gb devices. File transfers between them improved dramatically. It does produce a fair amount of heat. when fully utilized.

Super easy setup and solid performance!
Picked up the D-Link DMS-105 to upgrade my home network, and it’s been great so far. Literally just plugged everything in and it worked immediately — no setup, no weird steps, just done. I’m getting full 2.5G speeds between my PC and NAS with no drops or hiccups. The switch is small, doesn’t get hot, and since it’s fanless, it’s totally silent which is a huge plus for my office.Build quality feels solid too, like something that’ll last for years. Definitely happy I spent a little more to get a multi-gig switch instead of sticking with a regular gigabit one. If you want a fast, no-fuss upgrade for your network, this is a great choice. Would absolutely buy it again.

Replaced an older model, learned that my old unit had a defective port that I was not aware of before. Works like a charm. My only suggestion for improvement is that the lights and the cable connections are on the same side. If you desk mount this unit the cables and lights are facing away from you. I prefer to see the link lights, it’s best suited for a setup where it is in a shelf where you can make use of the ground (which I do not use) and the power would be at the back and cable in front. Like in a rack. It’s a bit small for a rack mount, making it more suitable for desk mount and thus the lights should be on the other side.

Odd the review askes me about Wi-Fi signal, I rated it 1 out of 5 stars since it’s not wifi but hard wired. There’s really not much to say here. The machine does what it’s supposed to do. It doesn’t get overly hot. The lights for each port change color past on connection speed which is very nice. Overall this thing is not much bigger than a deck of playing cards. Works perfectly for my needs.

The blinking lights are very useful to debug network speeds. Very good product for what you’re getting, however it’s certainly pricey. I’ve found cheaper alternatives available since getting this, but if you want something you know will work this will do the trick.
